Looks hearthy and delicious! To obtain a more cylindrical shape, you could wrap the wellington tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate before baking. Otherwise the warmed puff pastry will droop towards the bottom and flare out. Also, to achieve a browner and crispier crust, you could make a mapel syrup and aquafaba mixture. It browns nicely and adds some nice, sweet notes ❤
that looks delicious! Being Desi by marriage, I'd add Indian spices to mine. Prob cause butternut lentil curry is a family fave. As for using up the rest of that puff pastry: for Thanksgiving, I made your tofu feta cheese recipe & put it in some vegan artichoke-spinach puffs. They were a huge hit! Highly recommend
Yum! Hi from Wellington New Zealand, total approval for your delicious looking vegan centerpiece! One way to make the butternut prep easy, cook it completely until tender, much easier to peel and take out seeds when it's soft. Thanks for all the great recipes this year, Rose!
This looks really good! I may have to make it for my dad's Christmas dinner. They never make anything plant based so I always have to bring my own food. I'm excited to have this. ❤
Looks great, thanks! I usually brush my puff pastry with diluted soy sauce. Just a little soy sauce diluted in water, enough to brush the whole thing and it makes the pastry really golden, it's incredible!! Too much soy sauce will make it brown... Been there hahaha Less is more! Hope this helps!
Yes, hand chop the mushrooms!! I’ve used other vegan recipes using mushrooms as a “meat” and unless you have a food processor with a slicing blade, even pulsing them a few times can create mush. For “mushroom.” 😝
Can't locate vegan puff pastry rn, but I have my heart set on that filling so I think I'm going to make a cottage pie with it instead. Thanks for the recipe!!!
The biggest challenge is keeping the puff pastry from getting soggy on the bottom. I made crêpes flavored with spring onion and encased the log before wrapping it in puff pastry. Thanks for this recipe!
not sure why some of them do and don't have beef fat on the ingredients, but I triple checked mine and it doesn't have it! Sometimes it depends on where you buy it and where it's manufactured. Always check the ingredients! These were the ingredients in my package: Wheat Flour, Modified Corn Starch, Hydrolyzed Corn, Soy And Wheat Proteins, Sugars (glucose Solids), Potato Starch, Yeast Extract, Salt, Onion Powder, Citric Acid, Caramel, Paprika Extract, Herbs, Spices. Contains: Wheat, Soy.

8 59....... Wow. That's a nice rolling pin. At first I thought it was a whole roll of aluminum foil, then I saw the ruler etching.
I am going to try this with a tofu wrap on the outside. Or maybe some gf puff pastry.
And a tiny bit of liquid in the filling, with some thickener like agar.
😋 😋 😋 😋 😋
I found that gravy on Amazon, it lists Beef Fat in the ingredients.

Where did you get vegan puff pastry
bake the seeds also.
I'm curious, do the carrots get soft after being baked in the Wellington? I live with people with texture disorders and carrots could be a problem.
10 22....... The recipe forgot the layer of mustard...... I think?
Squash Lathe
