Great video. I’ve watched a couple of yours today. Really good info. Question for you. I am going to order the upgraded netting and fiberglass poles from starkline. Also need a charger, as I’m starting from scratch. Do you recommend buying their “kit”. Or should I piece it together ? One solar charger will power more than one enclosed fence area also, if I get multiple pens going for chickens? Or does each one need a charger? Guess I had a couple questions. Again. Thanks for sharing what you’ve already learned with this stuff
I think I just answered my question by reading the comments. So purchase a Gallagher power supply and use it with the starkline premium netting and fiberglass stakes. Thanks again
Thank you so much for your thorough review & recommendation of Starkline Premium Plus Poultry Netting. You’ve made my decision for a good product far more informed & I really appreciate that. The poles being far more stout is a huge piece of insight. New sub. Thanks again!
I purchased the Starkline Premium 48" Poultry Netting direct from site, but sadly received 35" sheep & goat netting. Not the correct length either! So I had to contact them about replacement. I also ordered the poultry netting gate from their Amazon portal (their direct site was out of stock) and low & behold after constructing frame, the kit netting is not poultry netting with 2.5" squares as it is shown listed. Nope, it's big rectangles for sheep & goat. Again, I've had to contact them about replacement. I must say their order fulfillment team is not impressive... 2 orders, 2 strikes out. Wrong product, wrong height, wrong length, and wrong parts. Geez. Still hoping the product is what you recommend, I've got a Bobcat grabbing a chicken every 3 days, so I need to keep my gals from roaming. Fingers crossed, my replacements come soon!
I just ordered the premium poultry net. I have premier 1 fence currently and I am not pleased with it. Each hot strand is not really the same length as the tops few strands. it doesn't matter how tight I pull the bottom and how I angle the post to try and get the top tight it just doesn't get taught enough to keep the bottom hot wires off the ground. Im hoping the starkline fence is better
Ah I wish I had saw this before ordering the all in one kit! I kept waiting on premier and they are literally never in stock so I ordered starkline! We have it all set up the sag and poles were kinda a let down also we haven’t got it to actually work yet? I’m wondering if I will need to take it all down and mow a closer cut to get it to work? The next one we order will def be the fiberglass pole version! Love your channel so helpful!
We do still use that netting. Setting it up as square as possible helps. I normally add a pole at an angle in each corner. The PVC poles will pull in so the extra pole go on the inside of the pen pushing out. We also don’t use the Starkline charger anymore. We never could get it to not be so temperamental to ground. We use a Gallagher charger with it. Also look back through our videos. Starkline offered us a discount code that our viewers can use. We did a whole video on it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
We have an issue with coyotes in the day. Would this work? Trying to figure out if we do a bigger run or electric fencing. We can no longer free range 😢
Hey! I’m pretty sure that it’s still available. On the Starkline website there is a box for a discount code enter TILLMANFAMILY for 10% off. Thanks for watching!
Very good product! Easy to set up and move--if you need to move your fencing. We have not lost any of our chickens-it keeps the chickens in and varmints out! We are purchasing our second kit to go around our garden!
Make sure you are using the Poultry netting. We have some issues with young birds getting out. Full grown birds are too large to go through the Poultry netting squares. Hope this helps!!
I've been having problems with foxes when my chickens free range, so they can only free range when i'm outside. I think im gonna get this, and I hope it keeps Mr. Fox away. Thanks for the review!
Can’t cut it to size but you can order it in a few different lengths. But positive and negative, are you meaning hooking it up directly to a wall socket? You will need a fence charger. Either solar or one that plugs into a 110/120 volt wall socket. These fence are not made to carry AC current. They will most likely melt if hooked up that way.
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 I am told not to use ground rods with these close to your house grounding system and therefore hook these up in whats called a positive/negative system. Ever alternate wire is a different polarity and you hook the "charger" directly to the fence. So I was wondering if the fence is all connected vertical or just as the ends? Could I use jumpers at the end at every second line creating a pos/neg setup? So what happens when the animal touches 2 wires it gets shocked.
I’ve never done it that way. I’ve never heard of it being to close to the house for a ground rod. I’ve been in the electrical trade for 25 years. I’m not aware of anything that it could affect.
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 I will when I go to use it. Gonna have about ten to 15 turkey I want to raise for meat. Not sure exactly how big and how strong a electric panel to have. Trying to be cost effective bc just setting up imma end up with around 1k in it. But want this electric fence bc I could remove if I move from this house. It would be easy to pick up and take with me.
What we don't know is how well the system does weathering. Can it function reliably and durably like Premier? The cheaper price MAY BE at the expense of durability or reliability. We need to know this and how well it performs in real life conditions.
We have an updated long term review video. We love the Starkline products. We have a couple 1000 feet of netting. We use it with our farm business. Right now we have 20 feeder pigs in it and about 200 laying hens.
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 How many years has it been out in the weather? 3 years plus? Another one you might want to try is Timeless fencing. It sounds good but not as adaptable as Starkline or Premier
I'm using Starkline Goat netting. It has held up to the weather. But I've had a few issues on my part so the goats are starting to take toll on it. Issues are my grounding and basically my sucky job installing my solar panel that works with this netting but not this solar charger
So buy premium netting with fiberglass post with double spike
🤣🤣good catch!!

My wife bought the pvc poles and its just as you said.
Could i cut 5/8 rerod to length pound it in ground and slide over 3/4 pex or cpvc to help?
That may be worth a try. Let us know how it works out.

Unbelievable... the replacement fence was incorrect too!
I bought your nrtting and the hole ate so big my chicken csn walk right though thr netting.
Two things. Be sure that you bought poultry netting. Second poultry netting is made to use with full grow birds. 20 weeks old at least.

How about in the winter snow or in tall grass?
I'm wondering the same thing.

Great review Chris. Hope you and the family are doing well. Have a blessed day and weekend my friend.
Thank you! Same to you!
I have the braided on it's way, with a gate. Thank you, for the videos and the discount!
Solid review, Chris. Poultry netting will be the first meeting we go with. Starkline Premier thanks to you
I’ve got both. I feel like I have mile of this stuff. Both are great Starkline is a better deal.
Good information ... Thanks!
You have some lazy turkeys there. My turkeys are on their feet and moving toward me the second I come into their view and talking up a storm.😁
The newness had worn off I’d been out there with they about an hour before I did the video. I was old news🤣

It works for a lot of folks. I would use a Gallagher S40. We run 3 section of 164’ of @starkline netting close to 300 egg birds.
What is your 10% coupon code? Is it still good?
