Yeah, but I think everyone knew it was going to be great, so it doesn't fit this category 😇 Now, Blazing Saddles on the other hand would be #1 in this category in my opinion. Mel Brooks wasn't famous when he made it and only he could have pulled it off. "So then the cowboy fist fight breaks through the wall to where a bunch of gay dancers are a number and they start fighting each other....."
I would've put Mean Girls at #1. A bunch of my friends saw it without me when it came out b/c I didn't want to go. I didn't believe them afterwards that it was amazing so they went to see it a second time and insisted that I go with them. I obliged, and I was never so happy to be wrong. @@cheapycheapy4689 I understand that if you watch about 15 of these 20 movies all have A listers. Hell, Ben Stiller was a bigger star around the time Tropic Thunder came out (along with other A listers Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Matthew McConaughy, and Tom Cruise) than he was when Mary came out. And, again, you're missing my point where the criteria you're applying actually apply to quite a few other movies that this list has. I guarantee you, if you were to look up the weekend box office numbers from 1998 in boxofficeguru, you might get a better idea that no one, repeat NO ONE, expected Mary to do the business that it did. ESPECIALLY when a movie opens up at #4.
And only one kid got sucked in. It was a brother and sister that freed him twenty-six years later. They found his friend and finished the game together.
The movie started with two friends playing and the boy was sucked into the game, then 30yrs later a brother and sister find the game and start playing, but this time aspects of the game spill over into the real world... including jungle animals, an obsessed hunter (played by the same actor who played the father of the lost boy from the start of the movie) and the lost boy who is now a grown adult Robin Williams...
I am so glad that Bridemaids was included on this list. That movie is hilarious and it did such a good job combining so many different genres, that movie makes me laugh every time!

Some of my favorites that are way better than anyone had any reason to expect: Super Troopers, Office Space, Team America: World Police, and Zoolander.
Nacho libre, my exact same thought. Along with the movie "Hot Rod". Not at advertised enough, during there time, so not as commercially successful as they could have been, yet both were hidden little gems! Also, I do think that Nacho Libre and Hot Rod, have that Napolean Dynamite sense of humor that not everyone is going to like. I belive you either love it or hate it. Luckily for me...I LOVE it all. 😁 "Chancho. When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun."
I know this isn't the point, but in the 95 Jumanji the brother and sister characters don't get sucked into the board game, they release Robin Williams who was sucked into the game 26 years before.
Super Troopers should be on this list. I never would have watched it if someone hadn't literally made me watch it with them, and now it's one of my favorite movies.
This was a great list...it made me smile! Love it when a comedy surprises me - I remember seeing Ted in the movie theater absolutely dreading what my friend had chosen to watch. To this day I still text him and refer to him as my thunder-buddy and we laugh. Not all comedies are great, but the one's that are usually stay with you🙂.
This list has soooo many of my favorites! I literally watch Spy like once a week, as well as Girls Trip, the Other Guys, Bridesmades, Tropic Thunder, etc! So good! And Step-Brothers should definitly be on this list!
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was hilarious. My 40 yr old self took my son and 3 of his buddies to see this...me thinking a good movie to take a nap to. technically i would be "babysitting" the boys. i laughed my guts out and on the way home explained to the boys what some of the jokes were or why they were so funny. When "So-crates" was introduced and played out i laughed so hard the tears almost ran down my legs..... Caveman with Ringo Starr was pretty funny too....
"Nacho Libre" and/or "Hot Rod", were EASILY better movies than a handful of these. :-) "Chancho. When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun." - Nacho "I'M FREAKIN' PUMPED! I'VE BEEN DRINKING GREEN TEA ALL GODDAMN DAY! GOD I GO TO CHURCH EVERY GODDAMN SUNDAY! YOU GONNA BRING THE DEMONS OUTTA ME!" - Rico/Hot Rod
@@naoseipraquevlog I imagine it's not for everyone. It did have a Napolean Dynamite pace to it, but it was a hugely under noticed comedic genius, movie! Jack Black at some of his finest.
so a few old classics and will farrell... big lebowski shoulda been on the list, maybe step brothers. last 3 on that list were supposed to be funny... but were mediocre at best. as far as will, i would say talladega nights and maybe anchorman were higher that those 3
You do not understand the sheer love and excitement i have for Eurovision Song Contest - The Story of Fire Saga; it was my favorite movie of 2020 (besides the movie 2012), and I absolutely love everything about it!
You guys are always making so many mistakes, does anyone proof read these videos? Harold & Kumar had 2 sequels Brother and sister were not sucked into a board game in Jumanji...Robin Williams was.
They should’ve had “The Big Lebowski,” perhaps even in the top 5. Step Brothers, Super Troopers, Anchorman, Austin Powers, Dumb & Dumber, and Old School are solid too.
Nice list, though there are a few I could remove to make room for Nice Guys, it was far better than an honorable mention for me. That film along with The 40 Year Old Virgin, Spy, Mean Girls and Game Night were all outstanding. Nice Guys and Game Night really stand out because I just watched them out of random curiosity on a lounging lazy Sunday in that "eh, nothing interesting catching my attention, never heard of what's on next, I'll just watch it" way, but struck entertainment gold.
I don't remember the buzz about Office Space before it came out, but it definitely was a surprise. I've watched and quoted that movie countless times. And will never hear Michael Bolton or see a red stapler the same way ever again.
My fav comedy movies Superbad Why him? Dictator Hangover series American pie series Office space 21 jump Street Bean Borat This is the end The Wolf of the Wall Street
Tropic Thunder is one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen. Tom cruise shouting down the phone to the Red Dragon separatist and Robert Downey Junior .... class

Super Troopers should be on this list. I never would have watched it if someone hadn't literally made me watch it with them, and now it's one of my favorite movies.
Its funny how three people from the office are all over this list
Napoleon Dynamite and the Other Guys are in my top 10 favorite movies. Superbad, Blockers, Tropic Thunder, and the Nice Guys are great as well
"Its just soccer Gregg " as a latino who can't stand soccer, this had me crying in tears!!!
No love for BookSmart ? the funniest thing I saw onscreen last year ? Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein and Billie Lourd totally rocked in that film.
This list sucked ass. Most of these looked awesome from the first trailer. Idk who would have thought most of these would be bad.
Tropic Thunder was 100% unexpected for me. It ended up being one of my favorite movies ever, could watch it everyday, great movie!!!
"You more shredded than a Julien Salad man."
This list has soooo many of my favorites! I literally watch Spy like once a week, as well as Girls Trip, the Other Guys, Bridesmades, Tropic Thunder, etc! So good! And Step-Brothers should definitly be on this list!
Why wasn’t This Is The End included in this list that movie was so funny.
Because it was EXPECTED to be funny ?!
With the cast that movie had and the hype. That movie missed. Was funny but should have been way better.
"Chancho. When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun." - Nacho
"I'M FREAKIN' PUMPED! I'VE BEEN DRINKING GREEN TEA ALL GODDAMN DAY! GOD I GO TO CHURCH EVERY GODDAMN SUNDAY! YOU GONNA BRING THE DEMONS OUTTA ME!" - Rico/Hot Rod
I cannot watch nacho libre, the pace is horrible
@@naoseipraquevlog I imagine it's not for everyone. It did have a Napolean Dynamite pace to it, but it was a hugely under noticed comedic genius, movie! Jack Black at some of his finest.
I like how they say that the $20 million Superbad budget was "minuscule", but Napoleon Dynamite's budget was $400 thousand.
*mentions Beetlejuice and mean girls*
Me: ✨M U S I C A L S✨
The fact that Mean girls was ranked 15 and Tropic Thunder at 9 is a travesty. And Friday was left out?!! Definitely deserved better rankings smh
What about “Freaky Friday” w Jaimie lee Curtis
Addams Family values
The Birdcage
The Big Labowski
step brohters
blades of glory
Dodgeball
Old school
so a few old classics and will farrell... big lebowski shoulda been on the list, maybe step brothers. last 3 on that list were supposed to be funny... but were mediocre at best. as far as will, i would say talladega nights and maybe anchorman were higher that those 3
Another movie that should be there that was suprisingly good is "Evolution" with David Duchovny, Orlando Jones and Julianne Moore
Any movie that has will ferrell popping in is always a hit
I loved Blades of Glory sooooooo much 😂
@@EdenNicole24 Me tooooooo!!!!
Michael Keaton should have won an Academy Aware for Beetlejuice. What an amazing unique performance.
I find it weird to mention a movie cost "only" 30 million dollars to make in a video which has the actually low-budget Napoleon Dynamite and Clerks.
Thought she said 30 thousand
Excellent. I've introduced several of your choices to friends who had not thought they would enjoy. Fun watch.
Make a list of
Top 10 hilarious movies that aren't comedies.
Full Metal Jacket
You do not understand the sheer love and excitement i have for Eurovision Song Contest - The Story of Fire Saga; it was my favorite movie of 2020 (besides the movie 2012), and I absolutely love everything about it!
As Selma Hayek said In dogma about home alone; someone had to sell their soul to make the movie successful 🤷♂️
wow it made close to $500 million. That was huge back then, still huge nowadays too but even more back then.
Tropic thunder is not only a great hilarious comedy but also a great action film and a great war film and a great satire. And endlessly rewatchable
Up there with heavyweights
I'm glad Tropic Thunder was on the list
The 2000s had some pretty epic movies
Still waiting for the Les Grossman movie..
This is literally a list of some of my favourite comedy films!
You guys are always making so many mistakes, does anyone proof read these videos?
Harold & Kumar had 2 sequels
Brother and sister were not sucked into a board game in Jumanji...Robin Williams was.
They should’ve had “The Big Lebowski,” perhaps even in the top 5. Step Brothers, Super Troopers, Anchorman, Austin Powers, Dumb & Dumber, and Old School are solid too.
Can you do comic book origin of Marvel's A-Force?
This list contains my top ten favourite comedies, it seems like the most unlikely successful comedies are the best ones
Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson are the best duos when it comes to comedy.
Sure if you were born in 2015
Nah, KH is cringe.
Aww, where was the clip from "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga"? lol
What a fantastic list! I love almost every movie on here! Well done!
21 and 22 jump street will forever be my first😂 it was so funny, my name is Jeff 😭
Bruh, Good Boys reminds me of myself when I was in 6th grade. It’ll be a classic within my heart.
John Cena didnt show up in Blockers. I can't find him in the movie. All I see is people talking to themselves and floating objects.
What you talkin about you can clearly see him.
@@majorfanboy2005 nah bro.. you can't see John Cena
@@majorfanboy2005 what the **** u mean john cena was in blockers? I havent seen him
@@tews4403 He's the main star just look it up on Google.
@@majorfanboy2005 Yeah it was on google yet he wasnt in the film when I watched it
I don't remember the buzz about Office Space before it came out, but it definitely was a surprise. I've watched and quoted that movie countless times. And will never hear Michael Bolton or see a red stapler the same way ever again.
McLovin's the man.
My fav comedy movies
Superbad
Why him?
Dictator
Hangover series
American pie series
Office space
21 jump Street
Bean
Borat
This is the end
The Wolf of the Wall Street
WoWS isn’t a comedy haha
Tropic Thunder is one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen. Tom cruise shouting down the phone to the Red Dragon separatist and Robert Downey Junior .... class
Friday as an honorable mention?! I'm done. 😑
Imagine watching this and dying with laughter because you have seen EVERY movie on this list for the exact same reason and loved every moment of all these movies!! 🤣😍
I stand by my belief that "Naked Gun" is the epitome of 'wtf' comedy.
Comment not relevant. Don't care.
Naked gun is a masterpiece.
I think it worked better as a TV series.
Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo didn't even make the list...?! It should have been number one with a bullet! Me and a group of friends wanted to see a movie and had seen the previews and thought that it looked crappy, but we'd seen everything else in the theater. We walked in with out expectations on the floor. We laughed our asses off and one of my buddies, who is notoriously critical of movies, literally shook his head in wonder as the credits rolled and turned to me and said, "That... was amazing! It has no right to be that good!"
