    ↣ Are you a full time UA-camr?
I work full time online as a 'Digital Nomad' which means I get to travel the world with my fiance (Ed) and not be tied to living in any specific country. I teach courses on Udemy (check out my profile here - www.udemy.com/u/louisecroft/), and run several companies, plus of course blogging and UA-cam.
↣ When did you start blogging?
I created my blog in 2012 when I was living in America. I was thrifting so much that I wanted to start sharing my outfits online and inspiring other people to look in charity shops. Now it's become all about my Digital Nomad journey and what it's like to be a female nomad.

    ↣ Where's your accent from?
I'm from the South of England but I currently live out of a suitcase travelling all over the world.
↣ Where is your favourite place in the world?
I fell deeply in love with Gili Air when we visited as a paradise getaway, but Chiang Mai is my favourite place to live. Plus of course, there's no place like home (Dorset in England).

I've had mixed results meditating, so I don't do it anymore. However, in other ways I feel I have achieved presence of mind, self-understanding and self-awareness. I used to have horrible social and general anxiety. I would get panic attacks on a regular basis and was even hospitalized for it, once. Growing up in a broken home with multiple alcoholics in my family made it very difficult to filter out the noise around me. I was forced by courts to attend family and personal counseling, where people would tell me I am going to be a loser, or an addict, or a criminal. Then, when I became a paramedic, I saw the underbelly of society and how horrible people treat one another and their families, behind closed doors. It screwed me up really bad for a long time. Everything changed when I finally made the decision in my mind to find out who I really was. Once I put myself on the path I was destined for, so many things just fell into place. My focus returned, my anxiety vanished, my sense of wonder and curiosity returned. My drive to explore and adventure took over. I began really learning about who I am and not only what I want, but what I need in life. Now that I have started my world travels, I am almost always in a zen-like state. It's difficult to describe. My anxiety level is zero. I sleep so soundly, and have magnificent, lucid dreams, which I can control many times and last throughout the night. I wake feeling refreshed and excited. I have energy all day long, and only take naps as a treat now, haha. The most interesting thing I have found is that time has slowed down for me. You know how sometimes days just seem to run together and you're always looking ahead to the weekend, or the next project, or the next holiday, or other significant event. That makes your brain skip everything to get to those events, and time sails by. You lose your presence. But now, because I am on the correct path and living in the moment, organically, with a very sparse plan in place, my days are actually longer, and seem more full. My productivity has increased because of this, and I feel no pressure of time. It's like true freedom, and it's worth all the time, effort, money, stress and deprivation I spent to achieve it. The only downside is now I need to start introducing some more structure back into my life, because I find myself so satisfied and content that I can easily become complacent, hehe. It's an ever-evolving process of growth. But, seeing how I am just chillin on Koh Samui, I am in an excellent environment to take advantage of this state of simply being, enjoying the sun, waves, nature, and peaceful surroundings. I plan that this voyage will last 20 years, so I am in no hurry to evolve into my next chapter. The key to life isn't the pursuit of happiness or success or some social status. It's the pursuit of understanding of yourself, respecting yourself and recognizing your unique individuality. There is great inner peace and strength which comes from that. But it is a solo journey. Nobody can help you achieve that, because nobody else that has ever or will ever exist is just like you. Their are a multitude of other benefits that come from achieving this state, but it would take a few hundred pages to talk about them, lol. As far as your meditation, I feel like you should meditate later in the day. In the morning you are technically just recovering from what should be your deepest meditation you ever get, your sleep. So maybe try to think of times of the day when your stress levels are generally highest, and try meditating at those times? I'm no expert. Sorry for the book! HAHA! Cheers! 🏝🌊🤙🏽

Hiya. Wow that's an amazing story! I've never heard such a wonderful testimony for how travel soothes the soul before! So happy for you :) Interesting idea about meditating a bit later - I find it a lot harder to focus later in the day but that might be a good reason to do it!! Will have a go :) Thanks for commenting as always

Literally the video - I needed to see! I’ve written “start meditation” in my notebook at least 5 times in the past month!
Fascinating that there are types than guided or silence! ...though I hugely depend upon my mp3 keeping me company in the pool. Even if you think the focus hasnt improved enough for you I think the other unexpected benefits esp parental control Make it so worth it! I have no excuses now. Thank you for the ace content as ever!! X

Ooh and very interested in the “this is water concept” so yes please to another video. Lots of what you’ve mentioned reminds me of the chimp paradox.

Loved hearing your experience! I’ve been meditating off and on too and I love the tracking of the minutes, too! Loved the analogy, didn’t think about it that way!🥰

@@digitalnomadgirl I actually use another app called 7mind! I like it better, couldn't get into headspace for some reason! But yes I agree!

9:00 great link from meditation to mindfulness, how you go into the flow of it and think of nothing else, by really focussing on the tiny details, and all the senses - helpful!

Yes it's so interesting how closely the two link. It's definitely the change I notice when I meditate consistently (which is unfortunately rare!!)

I really enjoyed hearing about your mediation experience thank you for sharing. I was talking about some of this stuff on Instagram the other day! Like about being mindful whilst washing up (which I happen to do a lot of haha). Also loved what you said about tuning in to specific things like one member of a band playing- going to try that! Also your makeup is on point, what lip colour are you wearing?

it is interesting to see how you have worked on this. I wrote one novel where meditation was a central part of the story, The Journey to Whitestone." I loved doing the research and learning from it as I adopted it to my lifestyle.

Wow writing must be such an interesting excuse to learn about a ton of topics! That's fascinating :D So cool that you've also incorporated it now too - I really love meditating - especially on the beach!

The makeup is a good analogy. I prefer meditation at night as it makes me sleepy, I have a hard time trying to meditate in the morning cause I'm trying to wake up 😆 I have used headspace but currently I'm using insight timer.
