- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the definitive Zelda game of the sprite based game generation. The concepts and ideas set forth in this title would influence every Zelda game from here on out. There were even ideas that wouldn't be implemented until 2017's Breath of the Wild (Like burning brush fires).

Is the Link to the Past opening story scroll music playing around 8:00 in your video using the Phantasy Star II soundfont? It sounds markedly different than the SNES soundfont yet somehow familiar too.
I do not understand the low views on this video (youtube algorithm must love Zelda 2). Makes me sad, especially cause my skills aren't on this level.

"If you don't get that lantern, you're not going to do well" The game will give you the lantern in like 3 different chests, depending on if you've picked it up or not some of the chests in the castle escape section will give you the lantern or rupees. It's hard to miss it, you'd have to miss it on purpose, if you even can, idk Zelda might just eventually stop you or give it to you, I'll have to experiment on that next time I play the game.

I totally get it. And I did play it but I could not get far and I didn’t feel I could talk about it in the way I would have liked with any sort of authority or authenticity.

Rant aside, Zelda 2 is a good game, just think of it as a 8-Bit Dark Souls, you open short cuts on the world map to get back to where you died, you wager your exp vs if you think you can survive longer enough for a level up or to even get the exp for a level at beating a temple boss and then placing the crystal for another level back to back. The combat is very on edge, but you can also kinda cheese alot of things or help manage the difficulty by learning patterns or saving magic power for a tough sections in death mountain and so on. It's a fantastic game, and it's worth pushing pass the learning curve.
I have tried Zelda II on multiple occasions. I just hit the wall every time and trying to create a video where I would have anything meaningful to say would be extremely difficult.
I have an appreciation for Dark Souls and have started to like those kinds of games. Zelda II, I just can;t do.
