Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is potentially the most compelling character ever written in SW, the one redeeming thing about the Last Jedi for me was his character arc, fucking fantastic, and Adam Driver has done a phenomenal job.
Khristofer Geuder he’s really not a bad character, one of the only decent characters in the sequels but nothing will top Anakin/Vader character arc
Kylo Ren is the only reason I say The Last Jedi is a good movie, he literally carries the entire movie the whole way through!

Eclipped Actually Ben Solo is far more interesting than Anakin, and Driver’s acting is far better. People say that nothing will top Vader because he is a pop culture icon but truth is, Kylo Ren has more consistency.

He is truly my favorite Star Wars "villain" he is tortured in a way that NONE of the prior 1 dimensional villains are. There is so much more to Kylo Ren, so much more beneath the surface, and Adam shows it beautifully!

what makes Kylo Ren such a great ( in my opinion the best) character in the whole Star Wars saga, is that inspite of being often betrayed and abandonned, deep inside he still strives to find love and acceptance. He is, after all, the most human of monsters, he is all of us facing our demons and hoping to be loved inspite of them. And Adam Driver nails it, to perfection. To our utter deligth.
My heart aches for him. He had such a bad start in life. I hope he finds himself now that Snoke is no longer poisoning his mind. And I hope he learns to love himself. Very beautiful video. It tells Kylo/Ben’s story with so much feeling.

The thing that struck me watching this was that Ben asks, "Did you come to say you forgive me?" which Luke says no to, which I'd interpreted as Luke saying we're past that. However, his line of "I failed you... I'm sorry." made me realize he didn't come to tell Ben he forgave him because he really came to apologize. He didn't come to save his soul because he believed it wasn't really lost.
This is so haunting and dark and achingly sorrowful, perfectly encapsulating kylo’s dichotomous character, I adore it xx

"I've given everything I have to you. To the dark side." That line is just glossed over in TLJ but it's actually the line that most encapsulates who Kylo Ren is. That's the cruel trap of the dark side. Anakin learned it. Luke foresaw it. Ben too became ensnared by it. The dark side demands payment for its power. It requires you sacrifice everything to it first.
You could almost take that line from Bourne and apply it here. "Look at us. Look what they made us give."

I began to watch it, then I'm crying. 😭 I hope he will reedemed, he deserves, Adam is a great actor he has my heart definetely, he's a great villain and so adorable too.

Dany 2310 Hmm... Still doesn’t change the fact that he was willing to kill the Sith in Episode III. But I am interested in seeing if Rey goes to the Dark Side in Episode IX. And I did like that line. Seeing Yoda in Last Jedi was one of the very few things I actually liked in that movie. 👌🏻

This 4 minute video was better than the entire trilogy
my god... This was amazing. The music choices, the way it started off making you feel as heartbreakingly sad, scared and broken as ben did, showing his despair and rage coming to a boiling point until he tries to make it all stop by killing han only to find it's worse. and then the music change with lovely rey, softer and more hopeful, but bittersweet with all he's done and lost. it ends with you hoping for his redemption because we've seen enough to know he absolutely CAN be, and it would be heartbreaking if he stayed in the dark after everything. geez i'm rambling now, but this was seriously incredible. i had waves of chills throughout, and tears from the first twenty seconds. i'm gonna rewatch tfa and tlj now, and go crazy waiting for ix. Spectacular job
Kylo is one of those characters that I hope actually completes the goal of ruling the galaxy. It would make it character so much more epic if he was a villian that wasn't able to persevere but was still able to succeed

Right after he kills his father he yells “TRAITOR!” to Finn but he was really talking to himself in that moment, really beautifully written... honestly despite any flaws the sequel trilogy has, Ben Solo/Kylo Ren is one of if not the best written character in the entire saga...

When editing is better then the movie itself
i feel like it would be epic if we get a flashback scene in the rise of skywalker that shows when snoke first set eyes on ben solo as a young child and he was playing with a mask similar to his kylo ren one pretending to be vader or something. this would give the "i fear i was mistaken...alas, you're no vader, you're just a child in a mask"

He feels "pull to the light again" that means that he doesn't truly want to be on the dark side somehow he wants to be 'good' you see it straight in that line but at the same time he knows something we may know as well or we may not. Whether it is Anakin's "Jedi are evil" Luke's "I won't kill my own father" or maybe something like Cassian's "things we did for Rebellion". It's so obvious when you think about it he is on the Dark Side because only by this can he accomplish something and that something doesn't seem to be a bad thing or evil but rather hard and complicated to achieve but in the end something worth the pain. He wants same thing like Anakin and even like Luke. To change the whole order of the galaxy and that of the Jedi. We all have seen bad sides of its reality, the wronging, abusive sides of it. They all wanted o change that. Anakin was to much idealist, he lost halfway, Luke couldn't use the Dark Side and sacrifice himself, he was to good for it. Ben did. Ben did join the Dark Side, Ben was strong enough to not let it consume him all, Ben is strong enough to make it happen, make sacrifice to change the Galaxy. Let the past die: the slaughters, the junkyards and slavery as we see on the very example of Rey and Anakin, six years old kids in Rebellion. All of it. And only way to accomplish it is the hardest path, the bloodied path, the Dark path. And it's no other than Kylo Ren taking it. Becoming someone he was meant to be.

The song (with violins) is called 'The Quality of Mercy' by Max Richter. It's on Itunes under 'The Leftovers (Music from the HBO Series) Season 2' Album. There's like 6 songs labeled 'The departure' but that's just the piano melody and I mistakenly bought 3 of those thinking it was this version of the song based from OPs comment. Not trying to be mean OP just putting this here so it gets archived for others looking for the exact song. :) Good show too. You should watch it.

I hate it that everyone makes him look like the bad guy. After how I understood it, it’s not his fault. Actually nothing was. Okay, almost nothing, probably maybe. I hate it. It makes me aggressively I hate it when I’m aggressive because of the overwhelming frustration. And that makes it even worse.
Also it seems to me that Rey misunderstood Ben. He said ‘let the past die‘ which is exactly the same as ‘lets start over everything‘ or something like that but in an, uh, more pessimistic way to say, like with half full and half empty. He didn’t said that she should join him to the dark side, not really and I mean in ‘the last jedi‘. I really wanna know what is going on in that girl’s mind. I do not understand her. Except when she running away from her own feelings, but then it’s officially stupid and someone has to tell her that she doesn’t have to run away from them. Please. I’m very frustrated, and like I already said, I hate it when I feel that way.

The only thing that will make me watch the last movie of the trilogy will be this amazing character. I truly feel that they screwed up not teaming kylo and Rey, it would have been fantastic for them to join forces and rule the galaxy. And in the last movie just resurect Snoke and give some reason as to why that happened (cause his death was pretty much a joke), and as ending Rey sacrifices herself to truly kill Snoke and save Kylo. Then as ending sceen fast forward some years, Kylo training young padawans, Rey force spirit apears and has a brefly conversation with old Kylo and close with a line like "I cant kill the past we spend together"

They can’t redeem kylo he already gave all himself to the darkside I know darth Vader did as well but he killed his father pretty much killed luke and tried to kill leia I think his was too gone and he have at least to die a villain because for my opinion he’s the most interesting part of this new trilogy
