well done mate but if I was you I would get two new modified top control arms that have a wider opening to allow the struts/shockies to pass through without touching. At full suspension droop ( both front wheels on the vehicle but off the ground) there should be between 5 & 10 mm clearance between the strut & the inside opening of the top control arms all the way around ( from the video, you do not have that clearance -9:06 on video & it is very dangerous). If there is not a minimum of 5mm clearance at full droop you will need to make up spacers that fit under the bump stops to stop the top control arm from dropping down so far. Or force the OEM factory bump stops back in, which maybe near impossible to do on the drivers side with everything back in. Without the aftermarket modified top control arms you may even have to run your vehicle with the suspension arm sitting on the Bump stops permanently if you can't get the 5mm clearance. And it will be a dam rough ride if you do. But otherwise if you don't then you will eventually either bend your front struts or shock absorbers or both. Then you will have to buy more new ones, so please check the clearance with both front wheels off the ground with the suspension at full droop very soon.
Hey mate thanks for the comment. Yeah i was aware that it needed clearance, but i was assured that once the spring settles after a few thousand kms that it'll start to have more clearance. Which seems fine now, almost 1.5 years on. And yeah i agree about upgrading the upper control arms. Just cant justify spending that much coin on the rig haha. She seems to be doing fine so far. Thanks for the comment mate i appreciate it 👍 😁
Hello Josh, I really want to commend you on the great work done. Please l have 2007 model of mitsubishi l200 and wish to modify the suspension as you did. Can you help me acquire the necessary part needed for this modification. Thanks
Doesn’t jumping on it damage the knuckle ? I’m literally facing this issue, replacing my coilovers to the original and I have no clue on how to pull it down safely and properly to install the original struts
@@joshsparkman2060 wow, nice! Good to know that such L200 Triton is available around many places. btw, the latest version released in Brazil is the "L200 Triton Outdoor" versions GLS, HPE and HPE-S
Great vid mate. Bout to replace my struts. Iv done many of these and I find it easier if you undo the cv nut and pop the cv in and will give u clearance to pop out the old and in with the new. Instead of taking those 3 nuts off the upper control arm. Then having to Jack it up to line the nuts back on. Also the lower strut bolt should be tightened when on the ground Jack stands out. Can twist the inner pressed rubbers when compressed. Anywayz done a great job.
Hey mate thanks for that tip ill keep it in mind next time i do a lift (which will be soon, for my brother inlaws MN 🤣) And for the lower strut bolt, i jacker up the lower control arm so the weight of the car was on the stru before i tightened that bolt. But yes i agree, its good practice to tighten all bolts touching bushes, once the car is on the ground on its own weight 👌 thanks for watching mate 😁
Great video man! I checked out fulcrum suspension about my load capacity. I rang them up and she said we would need the lift correction arm upgrade and the Polyair kit. I mean $3200 and thats if i do it myself. Do you get the upgraded lift correction arm or polyair kit? I thought it might be a good price, but $3500 I cant justify.
Nah man i just spent like $1.2k for just the suspension components. Didnt bother going to extreme with it. We can get away with 40mm lift and not have to tweek much other stuff. You only starting playing with other parts of u want 3 inch+. Sorry for replying 7 months later aswell haha
@@joshsparkman2060 Haha! I lifted my ML triton yesterday and didn't have this video for reference 😂 but we did something very similar to what you did and glad it turned out okay👍
Thanks mate, gotta do mine but I'm no mechanic, be saving this vid, cheers
no stress mate i hope it helps :)
Did you do wheek alignment after fitting

What was the ride like after with the kcfr-55hd springs?
Any sag as of today in the front? Heard it’s fairly common with Formula?
Ty mate u saved my life with this vid
Glad it helped mate 👌
I was wondering how big were the spacers u were running on the top of the shock and if u ever had any problems with them?
Did the original spring already have a lift on it or was that factory spring im just on about the alloy piece on the top 3 mounting nuts

No clue mate, thats how ive always done it and it's always worked
where u from? I mean, I was thinking that L200 is available only in South America.
Australia mate

where can i get the stopper upper arm like your.?
From fulcrum suspension mate
Hey bro, could you send a link to the lift kit you ordered? I can only find 40 mm lift kits for my mn triton 2012.
I didnt buy mine online mate, i went into the fulcrum store and ordered it there. Then picked it up from the store when it came in
Is this on a body lift as well ?
Nah not when this video was made. 2 sus only
Hows the ride with the kcfr55hd springs? do you have a whinch?
Yea its great man. I currently just have an ARB bullbar on (no winch) and its great dude! Sorry for the 10 month later reply 🤣
@@joshsparkman2060 Hey mate, Was your ride super stiff before you added the bullbar?
@@wrx318 i couldnt tell ya as i installed a bullbar before I drove it. But id assume it'd be very stiff
