- In this video I will show you the easiest swimming stroke to learn if you are a beginner. Whether you are an adult or a teenager watching this, all you need is to follow these 4 easy steps and you will be able to practice this stroke in the water. If you have asked before which stroke to learn first? Well it depends on many factors why do you want to learn it for and what kind of swimming background you have come from.
The easiest stroke I am teaching here is breaststroke. It is a stroke that allows you to swim with your head up with ease. In this video you will also learn the PROPER BREAST STROKE technique which can be broken into the 4 phases. They are pull, breathe, kick and glide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are a beginner swimmer or thinking of picking up swimming as a sports or hobby, you have come to the right place. Here you will show you the simple techniques that you can bring to the pool so you can move around in the water safely and with joy.
Here we believe swimming is a life saving skill that everyone should know regardless of your age and gender. Here we believe "A family that swims together stays together"
Videos will be uploaded on a weekly basis.

Let me know if breaststroke is the easiest stroke to learn? Or do you suggest other stroke as alternative.
Breast stroke is definitely the easiest. I’ve gotten so good at it that I need to learn another stroke
@@holai163 try freestyle
@@Swimtopian Hey just an update I started practicing freestyle and I learned it super fast. I did not even know its been 2 weeks. Ive been swimming both strokes now! Just gotta perfect my form!
Super easy, but more and regular practices needed
Hi when we r breathing should my legs be bent
Got a gym membership couple weeks ago with a pool but have been nervous about actually starting since ive never done actual swimming. I can float and tread water and go from point A to point B no problem but ive never trained or learn proper strokes. This will be helpful. Thanks Joe
Clear and easy to understand! Very concise explanation. Great video! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks. Glad it helps
Thank you Joe! Yes, I agree with you breaststroke is likely the easiest and most versatile stroke to learn first! It is also the most technical one to learn if you want to move fast using that stroke. This is probably why some swimmers love that stroke and some other don’t as if you are smart and mobile and not necessarily that strong you can go faster than much stronger swimmers not as technical or mobile with that stroke! 😁😁😁
Agree with you. Thanks
Your video is so relaxing
I really enjoy your explanations, thank you 🙏
Thank you so much Joseph.. I get to learn so much from your videos. Extremely grateful.. 🙏
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed
Great smpfiled and explain in this video. Thankful
Omg- why is my swim teacher starting me with freestyle!!! I’ve darn near given up. I’m trying this tomorrow.
Freestyle is a good stroke to start learning
So helpful!!
Nice tutorial !! 👍
Joe, thank you for your helpful content!
Glad that you like it.
Great job 🔥🔥
THANK YOU BRO!
Thank you so much for this video bro. God bless.
Thank you! I'm excited to start my swim journey :)
Great to know
شكرا لك شرح مبسط
As a beginner this is the easiest breastroke video so far.. simple but easier to understand. Agree with the kick part - toes out really help to swim faster
Glad you found it useful
Thank you so much good teacher Xx
Thank You
i like your uniquely very human approach to teaching swimming! and yr emphasis on confidence and joy! thanks also for reminding me to include the glide part of the breaststroke.
Your welcome. Thanks for watching my video
Thank you! I am trying to build up the courage to go try lap swimming for the first time. This video makes it less scary.
Glad it helps
Very nice... Joseph...you explain so well.... thanx
Thanks
Joe you are too good
Thanks for the kind words
Amazing
Thanks
Hi Coach Joe, I'm coach Aggie from Nigeria 🇳🇬 🇳🇬. Your videos has helped me alot
Great to know that.
Thank you, Joe! This is very helpful and comprehensible. I’m struggling at lot with the breast stroke at the moment, and I always do it wrong with the kick. I try to focus on the positions of my feet, but as long as I’m in the water, I can’t control them, especially ‘heels up’ and ‘toes out’ parts. I’ll try again with your technique. To me, other strokes are fine, only the breast stroke is my biggest fear.
Hi, glad that you find this useful. Let me know how it goes
You are the best, it’s the best breaststroke technique I’ve seen
Glad that you like it
Thanks for your sharing
My pleasure
First to like, view and comment. Awesome Stroke.
Thanks buddy. Where are you from if I may ask
@@Swimtopian No worries. I'm from Kenya

Sir, you are great. You have simplified the puzzle pieces of breast stroke, making it easy to be learned. 😀😁😄🤩

Exactly I just did my hair colour !
I never could get the hang of breast stroke. With a scissor kick, it worked, kind of, but the old frog kick and the newer whip kick just didn't work for me. In part, probably because I am very pigeon toed. My favorite stroke is the over arm side stroke. Kind of like the combat swim side stroke, but the top side comes out of the water and over the top like a freestyle arm pull. It has been forgotten. Dropped from competition in 1900 in favor of the much slower breast stroke. Only record in existence is a time of 1:02.5 for 100 yards, set in 1895. Freestyle record at the time was 1:01.2. As near as I can tell, it is faster than back stroke, and could maybe hold its own against the fly. Not as fast as freestyle though. Oh, 71 years old....
Thank you coath I like your class but I can't use correctely my legg
Thanks for the video! I’m currently learning how to swim breaststroke right now, but my instructor taught me to just flutter kick all the way even when gliding. So is that another variation of this?
Not really. Unless you are doing drills like breastroke arm pull and flutter kick. This is a drill to practice for fast arm pull

I a beginner swimmer and need to learn the how to flip vertical and horizontal. I think I'm wasn't told correct in to continue to blow bubble threw my noise while turning and when I first tried hoizontal turning from front to back water got into my sinus which was uncomfortable. Do you have any good advice? Vertical looks much easier for me.
As you turn from front to back (horizontal) remember to blow bubbles through your nose.
That will keep water from entering your nose
Most video's I watch seem to say breaststroke is the hardest to master. So now I'm confused 🤦🏻♂️ just getting into swimming for fitness. Trying to get my timing better with it seems quite hard. Don't always have the option for front crawl due to the pace of the lanes where I go. And would probably look absolutely ridiculous trying the other 2!! Any suggestions for improving the technique (other than lessons)?
I would say breaststroke for adults to start with. Watch my other videos that explain a proper breaststroke kick. It will help you to swim laps effortlessly
Hey joe. I heard swimming cap don’t keep the hair dry. Is there a way to keep it dry?
Haha...sorry i dont and i think thats kind of impossible in the water. Let me know if you have found any solution
In gliding position body become horizontal is it correct
Yes it's good
My legs don't work what to do
Thanks. I tried this on the Cement. Doesn't work though.
Maybe try in pool instead 😉
For some reason I sink meaning when I try to lift my head to take a breath I dont go to the top of the water
It could be due to your arms not pulling the right way. If you pull correctly that will generate a lift and your head can easily emerge out of the water for a breath
I'm beginner we only have a deep pool to learn, I'm so fear becouse the swimming coach walk around de pool never go in to the water so that not given me confident. Can you tell me some tips to face swimming in that deep pool. Safe method becouse 25 meter long and 2.5 high and safety for me. But i will never given up. i'll 52 year tomorrow.
You need to know how to float on your back first. Then practice water treading. Do these 2 steps in shallow water. Once you are confident enough bring a friend who can swim well so he/she can watch over you
hi Joe .. how to become a certified instructor
Hi, where are you from?
@@Swimtopian India
You probably can check with your swimming association of your country to enquire more
@@Swimtopian okay will do that ...you got an Instagram handle
I want to swim with my head out of the water all the time. I didn't see much explanation about that technique.
It's not efficient to have your head out of the water all the time. That's why no explanation on that
I go swimming weekly and most of the people (including my hubby) look very comfortable swimming with their head above the water.
Am struggling with Breaststrokes at the moment and the instructor laughs and gossip with other instructors while everyone is learning how to swim.
That's so bad....you should make a complaint
I do not find breaststroke easy at all! I find it awkward and slow. Freestyle is so fluid and rhythmic, and so much faster.
Easiest to learn for me
you are doing it too fast, I can't keep up
Hahaha 🤣
