My copy came with a Beta Access card with a code on it, I just went to the website it gave me, if you want the website, just ask me =]. Dunno if you'll get picked but it's worth a shot, and no I dunno when the beta testing starts .=/
actually ff14 is planned to surpass most of the online game around even maybe WoW due to the fact of the game design and game play and mostly due the the graphic power consider the best graphic 3d online game
who are alredy paying for online memberships pay more for something they ALREDY payed for. if multiplayer and all these things dont ruin the game, then ff14 seems like a great game. i am just waiting and hoping
I bet its STILL going to cost 12+ like it does on FF11. And lock or design it so that it can ONLY be played online. And that's more then enough for me to not buy it. Not to mention that if I did get it if i try to follow along with the story my "Team" would just abandon me as they would just press the skip button just to start the quest faster.
personally, i am pissed. first off, every new game thats coming out has a oline multiplayer, and this usually occurs in the game much worse than it could have been. second, i hard the game is $60, and then another $13 per month for online. wtf. we alredy bought the game. lastly, the xbox 360 version might b comin out late or not at all. they 'paused" the making of it because of some xbox live polocies or something. probably the $13 online fee. microsoft prob doesnt want to make there customers,
FF is trying to make itself like world of warcraft.. they should keep the FF series as its own entity on consoles and make an online version and spin it off of the series.. call it Final Fantasy Forever or someshit iono lol
I think this will be a typical HOLY CRAP GAME. Holy becouse it'll have beautifull graphics and Crap, just becouse it'll be crap. Like ff 13 I do have High hopes for ff versus 13 though. Looks good

In interviews they said that FFXI equivalent races will be included. You can see diminutive wizard types in the main website

That is true of any game that has online features, but I find some games much more newbie-friendly than others.
I think its good to wait for more info. So far they've only released a trailer and the fact that its MMORPG.
As far as they've informed us it's online game (like WoW and GuildWars) only but still keep our hopes up :)

I dont like any online games because I have no desire grinding. I prefer games that rely on skill instead of massive amount of gaming hours.

Example in RuneScape and MapleStory (both bad games but good examples) people will most likely scam you just to get their own profit.
The only Online game that appeals to me is Angels Online and thats because its 100% free. Unlike FF11 which costs £40.00 per play...
