They're not better quality. I own a Ranger 1888 wt, and my alumacraft is a better boat in almost every way. The ranger has had more issues than you could imagine. Wet ride, wet dry storage, window that won't close, wiring issues, leaks, broken bilge, livewell and baitwell don't operate as they should.... the list goes on for 36 items. After its first trip into the shop and another 28 for its next trip in. Hoping they take it back as a lemon and refund our money. It's been a damn nightmare! 2 years of ownership and we've only used it half of a season.
@@bunkie1850 I guess we all have gotten a raw deal with these boat makers at some point... my experience was with a 2004 Crestliner 1850 Sportfish... lots of minor defects... but still loved the boat.

just came from bass pro and the ranger 178 is now $29,999 ouch
Ranger is not built better. Crestliner has a lifetime Hull warranty that’s transferable to the next owner to boot.
Crestliner Xf 189 is the better one to me.
A ton of generalities and no real good information other than conjecture. Your credibility is shot considering you don’t have either one of those boats and you have a tracker in your garage behind you. Come on man you got to think past the tip of your nose. I was hoping to look for some real world comparisons.

Ranger 17 foot boats are bigger and wider than Crestliner boats.
you don't give much useful info like why is the quality better? what about construction differences? how thick is aluminum? you think paint job is better is just an opinion. what about compartment layout carpet vs spray on coating ? you took 8 minutes to say paint is nice on ranger and you think quality is better but crestliner is cheaper

@@Keepit10081 I used to own a 2005 Crestiner Serenity 1800 18 foot with a huge Honda 135 at the back. I wish we still had it but the trailer brakes were giving us issues and it was just one more bill to pay.
