I'm not proud of Shota. He is the best bowler in Japan and really one of the world's best. But he stepped up to win a PBA title and threw 3 brooklyns. Bowling like that, he would have lost to Prather or Simonson, who were both consistently throwing it high flush in the pocket. Shota looked like he was afraid to make his best shot, and had the mentality of "Oh god please don't let me eff it up on this shot". We all see this happen at lower level tournaments, regionals and such. Shota basically choked here. He's not some scrub who can't find the pocket. He just made bad shots that he couldn't afford.
@@Ironfangzu understandable, and well-said. He does need to summon that killer mentality if he’s going to beat these guys for a title. Maybe he’ll get another shot or two at it someday.

In truth it’s a variant of the “stone 8” and a rare exception to the general rule that a 5 pin is a result of a poor, deflecting shot. What usually happens on a stone 8 is that the headpin or 2 wipes out the 5 before the ball can, leaving nothing for the ball to shove into the 8. in this the headpin that takes out the 8 but stabilizes the 5. You can see the ball clearly hits the five but the headpjn keeps it upright. Just a horrendous break.

It's got to be depressing to professional bowlers how many times the lousy ten pin remains, untouched, on a perfect pocket hit. To me, it compromises the actual score and professional reputation of a good champion!!! 😢😮
Serious question. Do the shirts that pro bowlers use have to have designs the way I always see them? I’ve never seen just a plain solid colored shirt. Are they not allowed to? I understand sponsors, but I’ve never seen a plain shirt. They’re always hideous! Anyone else think this, or just me?

Yes you can. Shannon pulowsky, Tim Mack , Shawn Maldonado and so many others I personally know go overseas all the time and bowl on tour
