This is the 'easiest to follow' DIY lowering your C7 video, great job! I too have a C7 and was wondering if you could answer the following questions: 1) When driving hard, has the driving dynamics of the vehicle been impacted at all in a negative manner? 2) You say an alignment is recommended, will you be getting an alignment as you have lowered the car?
Thanks! I haven't notice any change in dynamics except a little less body roll in Tour mode. Also had it on the track the other day and no rubbing issues etc. I do plan to get it aligned at my next service but more to get closer to the track alignment.
Great video, this project was very simple! I tried this on my 2015 Z51 and I only got a drop of less than 3/4” in the rear and less than 1/2” in the front. I only drove it about a mile to let it settle. Should it it drop some more as I continue to drive more?
Does lowering the car affect the quality of the ride? I have electronic ride control and just wondered if it affected that being able to work properly. Did you track it before and after and if so was there any performance change?
I jacked up the C5 all the way around, adjusted all the bolts out, lowered the jacks, and couldn't get'em out from under the car lol! Oops!!! I had to jack it back up and put 2x4's under the wheels in order to get the jacks out. Rockers are just under 4" off the ground, no more speed bumps for the C5! Really gotta watch driveways and debris in the road. I was told to run it 50 miles, then get an alignment done. I decided against the alignment beings the front tires looked straight :( 1000 miles later the fronts were down to the cords, literally destroyed them. Live and learn! Bummer as they only had about 10 miles on'em.
I did that to my C6 and got really bad wheel hop on burnouts. Maybe it was unrelated but it seemed to be the cause. I'm leaving my C7 stock height for now. Anyone else get wheel hop when doing a burnout after lowering?
No wheel hop on the C5, but the back definitely hits harder as there's no suspension travel. Wow does it corner though!! I'm leaving our Grand Sport and Stingray both at factory settings.
Get bigger wheels your fucking up the front end don’t do this people get bigger wheels I did I fat ones on the rear of z51 ran under 4 seconds 60 mph tires grip make the difference don’t lower it. Any train track small pot hole you’ll destroy the front end.
He probably meant the front lip of the stingray. And Imma have to agree with mr Peters. Plus you'll be reminded more of that front skirts every time you approach an obstacle which I hate hearing.
Ephizia has NO clue what it takes to get a Vette high enough to put jack stands under it. I use 2 1/2 ton floor jacks and call it good. This job here ya don't get under the car to begin with.

Very concise, easy explanation - Thanks!
+Mark Vette Welcome! Glad you liked it!
Thanks! I used your vid to lower my laguna blue c7z
Devil Z Great! Glad it helped and hope you check out more videos!

Thanks! It may settle a hair more but just make sure you backed out the adjustment bolts the whole way.

I did not notice a ride difference and I do have mag ride no issues. I did track before and after and feel corners a little flatter now. Go for it!
Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it helped & hope you check out the rest of the channel!
Im guessing if im raising the height little bit, i just do opposite? And will i need second jack?
Yep. And you will still need 2nd jack since under tension.
Nice!
Thanks!
Nice video really helpful
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Beautiful vette !👍
Thanks! Appreciate you watching & hope you check out rest of the channel!
@@CarGuy11 thank you 🙏

C7 definitely sits higher than previous gens even at full lower. I definitely recommend the alignment after.
very nice, I assume the same works on a Z06 ?
Yes sir!
ANY ISSUES SINCE YOUR MOD ?
No issues with stock adjustment bolts. Just get car aligned after.
Can you raise the suspension this way on the front??? I have 20’ forgiato’s that are rubbing on my plastic wheel wheels on my c7 z06.
Yes you can raise or lower this way.
Is this safe for the vehicle?
Yes these are stock adjustment bolts.

Why do burnouts? Impress the Honda’s?
any trouble clearing speed bumps, driveway and everyday things?
+Okaythen001 Not bad. Check out this vid tho. ua-cam.com/video/ap6o8X5Sark/v-deo.html
Got a question on different topic, my screen on radio only shows half of it, I've tried pushing the down arrow to make it , but no luck , any advice?
You can limit the number of presets in menu settings (I use 10). Also swipe the presets down till you only see 1 row.
Or I could buy some lowering bolts an get a nice 2 inch drop
I see in this video the wheel gap IS TOO MUCH GAP. could it GO ANY LOWER????
I lowered it the full amount. You can buy aftermarket bolts to go lower if you wish.
Looks good I did the same on mine ?
+Miguel Brito Thanks! Cool!
It looks the same brother
It’s noticeably lower.
Or get bigger wheels 😂❤️

sounds like a really good way to drop $4500 on a new front spoiler when you hit that first speed bump to fast or a driveway with a elevation change.
Stingray doesn't have front splitter. No issues so far.
Matt Peters it's only the z06 or z07
Gross over exaggeration of price. Anyone that drives these cars lowered knows to go at the speed bumps from an angle.
come on ....if you own a car this low ...you already know

I'm surprised someone stupid enough to not use a jack stand underneath a car was able to afford a c7
Don't need to use a jack stand unless you are crawling under car. At no point was I under car.
Ephizia lmao!!! He told u alright.
Being stupid has no relation to what you can afford. Stupid people making a stupid comments.

that isn't a leaf spring but okay bud lol
It's not a truck steel leaf spring but it is a composite leaf spring.
That is very much a leaf spring
It is a leaf spring but parallel to the axis
