I actually traded this one for a Z06 that is manual. But I’ve done all the same mods to the Z06. Same year model as my Grand Sport was.

Jason, awesome video my friend. I love my weathertech floor mats and they work very well. The ZR1s came with cheesy floor mats which was disappointing to say the least. The NCM has better ZR1 floor mats. Great job bud!

Great video Jason another mod I think is good go stage two all round the car much more aggressive. I did all of mine in carbon fiber I also did front fender flares in CF.
I would definitely love it in CF for sure. I go back and forth on stage 2 spoiler. I am torn between the 1 and 2. I wish it was super easy to switch back and forth. I'd just go month to month. Lol.

Great vid. We have a 17 G S Collector, we have Xpel ALL over ours. Yes it works, and saved lost of bug damage, rock chips too. We have Ceramic over the Xpel, really works, even on our conv. top. Great products. I want a bigger spltiter in front and taller rear spoiler. Thinking of real carbon fiber ever where, but that is $$$$. Sure looks KOOL. Last conv of Collector series. Kool Vets.

I think your mods are awesome. I have a lot of ACS mods myself. I went XL rock guards on the rear and standard ACS splash guards in the front. I just felt on the front they don’t stick out as much and look more streamlined and OEM. The rear diffusers look great but are way overpriced in my opinion. So, for the added look they bring I can’t justify that much money. Love the protection the weather tech floor mats give. But since I never drive my car in winter type weather, I really don’t want the cheap plastic look. Easy enough to vacuum the mats every few weeks. Carpet, in my opinion just looks so much better and honestly is much easier the vacuum them have to scrub plastic liners.

Yeah, the diffuser fins definitely are not cheap. I absolutely love them though.
I kept my original mats but threw in the weather tech. I wanted to preserve the ones I had because they were specific to this Collector Edition.

I agree. I think they really help too. As wide as the tires are they really kick out rocks. The diffuser fins are probably my favorite mod ACS offers.

I’m saving up for a 14-16 C7 manual. Question is Z51 or base ? I haven’t test drove either yet, I’m a year and half away from buying and don’t want to get tempted with borrowing more than I’m comfortable planning too.
I’ve heard different opinions on the base is too soft and Z51 is too much for the street.
I don’t plan on tracking it but will be driving quick on twisty roads but mostly (80% -90% of the time) will be street and highway cruising.
Also is there a big difference in ride quality with 18/19 inch tires in the base versus 19/20 inch in the Z51? Especially in street driving ?
@@stephendibari5010 I think it’s all about personal opinion. If I were you I would definitely do a test drive with both. See which one you feel more comfortable with. I am always about saving money. I can say from experience my friend Steve had a non Z51 and loved it. Drove fast at times but he didn’t drive fast on twisty roads. I’ve never driven a non Z51 car so I cannot say for sure. But I think that if you can fit it in your budget, go with the Z51.

Knowing myself if I test drive it now I’ll be too tempted to buy it later this year with about only a 5% deposit. No bueno.
@@stephendibari5010 Ah yes. You’re a smart man then. I’m all for a larger down payment as well. I like keeping monthly payments as low as possible. Plus it will likely allow you to get a better deal as the economy continues to slow.

The Xpel does make a huge difference but it unfortunately isn't cheap.

Oddly enough I have never been there even though I used to live in Houston. I am sure they are just as good as Dallas. They do quite a bit of business in Houston as well.
I just looked online at 2 grand sports they have available... Im definitely in market for my first Corvette and I’m wondering what kind of benefit I’ll get if I wait till after the new C8 drops in a few weeks.
That's a really good question. I guess it depends on how much success the C8 has. So far, I am not a fan. I love mid-engine cars but the look of the C8 isn't doing much for me. At least from what I've seen. I think the back of the C7 is MUCH better. Interior is too "luxury car" for me. You might as well wait though. Only a few more days anyway.

I love the diffuser fins. I also like stage 2 diffuser. What size is your side rails? I ordered several things from acs and love talking to them. I just bought a 2019 corvette stingray with 3000 miles and love it. Your video was so helpful.
That’s awesome! On my Grand Sport they were the 3/4 length side skirts. On my yellow Z06 I have the full length.

Great to see another vid sir I was going to comment which mod was my favorite but honestly, they're all perfect! If I had a corvette I would do all of those mods! And yes the diffuser is 1000% worth it, honestly i thought it cost more haha. But the AFE intake is genius, basically just like stock but with a larger filter so I can definitely it making a huge difference! The Corsa rounds it off nicely! Excellent video like always, totally up to you whether you sell the C7 but I'm glad it's still here haha. Really excited upcoming content, take care!

I bought mine from Corvette World Dallas. They sell aero. I think it was on sale. You might want to call them and see what their price is now. Should be close I think.
Love all the mods. It's not always how fast you get from Point A to Point B, but how you look getting there. :-) aFe was definitely the way to go. It doesn't throw any codes and you don't need a tune to feel the results. As to your Corsa exhaust, hope you didn't get rid of the factory setup. So you were at the Chevy dealer by you. Hmmmm, that begs the question . . . . . . why? LOL Save the Wave.

I couldn't agree more. It's definitely not always about how fast you get there. If your car does 0-60 in 1.5 seconds and tops out at 280 but looks like a garbage can then who cares. lol
I intended to get the stock. I even told them and then I drove off without it. I am sure they would give me another one as they will eventually get another good stock one in. They just throw them away anyway.
The reason I was at the dealer was just for an oil change in my work truck. :)

Bill DeSmet putting a different set of tail lights on does not make it “fake”. Putting different badges makes it fake. Different head lights or tail lights is just changing a appearance mod. I changed out my tail lights on my C6 to Morimottos. I went with the clear housing and on my silver, looks great IMO.
C6’s all had the same tail lights, it was not until the C7 wear the ZO6 and the ZR1 got clear lens. Putting those on instead of red, just looks better IMO. Nothing fake about it. Just taste
Bill DeSmet you don’t understand. There was no contradiction and I’m no poser. Just because you change tail lights does not mean you are trying to be a Z06. Now if you badge a base with z06...then that’s fake. They are tail lights, get over it. You can buy aftermarket tails and headlights for almost every car on the road today, so by changing them that means they are fake?? Not even close. And could you put your big boy pants on so we can have a discussion and leave the childish insults and name calling for later when you are with your friends.
Also, a lot of C6 base owners put wide body kits on, does that make them fake?
@Bill another example, I had a 2005 GTO, in 06 they changed the tail lights. I put 06 tail lights on. That did not mean I wanted people to think i had a 06. I just liked the tail lights on the 06 better. If I had a C7, first thing I would do is ditch the boring red tail lights. The Z06 tails are just a better looking design, especially on Red. I don’t care for them on yellow though, the red actually looks better in that instance. So remember if you see someone sporting some tails like yours and it’s a not a Z, understand that they just like the looks. No harm no foul and def not a poser or fake.
Hi Jason, I just watched your 5 things video and I have a 2019 Watkins Glen Gray Stingray. I went by the dealer and found a way to get the stage 1 front splitter non carbon fiber, but what I really want is exactly the front splitter and winglets like you have on your GS!! I would be happy with the basics black plastic look or carbon flash to match my hood, but everywhere I’ve looked, it costs between $800-$1600 just for the front splitter kit with stage 2 winglets. Any suggestions on where I could find something like what you have?
Yes. Either ACS Composites or Corvette World Dallas. Both offer carbon flash. I believe they run about $400 for carbon flash. I have a lot of ACS Composite stuff but my front splitter is from Corvette World.
What's your opinion on the stage 2 winglets and the full length rockers? Those are the only things missing, imo. I was going to upgrade my splitter but I can get out of my driveway without slightly scratching the underside as it is so didn't want to waste the money. It definitely looks way better tho. I want the Corsa extreme but havent heard it in person to see. Gorgeous ride. Those have the best interior of any C7, again imo. Hope it doesn't go too soon. Boomer Sooner!
Hi, Bran. I like the stage 2 splitter with the winglets much better than the stage 1. It matches better and just looks better overall. Although I would prefer the stage 1 to nothing and I wouldn't want to buy a stage 2 just to damage it in my driveway so I think you are making the right call if that would be the case.
As for the Corsa, I really love it as well. When you're just idling it doesn't make much difference but when you step on the gas you really notice the sound difference.

Love the skirts & splitter. Question, carbon flash, is that just a color or is it carbon fiber material? Second, love the fins on the valance on the back. I have a 2007 Sky, and had a custom fiberglass valance w/the fins put on my car and painted in the same color as the car. Looks awesome. Third, is the Expel a film, like a clear wrap? Or is it a coating, like a cetamic coating? Thanks for sharing your beautiful car with us!
Hi, Kristy. Carbon flash is a paint color. The splitter and side skirts are a ABS plastic, I believe. It’s not carbon fiber. Xpel is a film that protects your paint from rock chips. The ceramic coating is great though too as it helps to protect your paint but not from rock chips. It also makes it easier to clean.

DETAILLED..WHAT A NICE DIFFERENCE!!THEN I SPENT APROX.6-700.00 on a speed longeriet bra..4 the rock chips + rock guards in the front wheels.ive had my own car since h.sch...n i can tell you that that expell is the most overpriced thing going on the car market!!!
Glad it worked for you. I have not had the same experience. Xpel has been a great product on my Vettes. I did get some damage on my Lambo driving down to Houston but it was a weak spot and nothing would have stopped it.

When you're pulling out of your driveway, do you have an issue with scraping the underside of the front end on the concrete as your driveway dips down into the street? I live in a similar subdivision house with a similar driveway. My driveway looks exactly the same as yours. Even the pitch of my driveway looks the same as yours. I noticed you backed out of your driveway at an angle. Does that prevent the underside from scraping? I'm gonna try that.
Yes. I have scraped pretty bad a couple times. I have a Z06 now and I even lowered it a bit but I added sliplo to the bottom which helps but I have started backing out almost perpendicular to my driveway and do not scrape at all now. You should definitely try that if you're scraping.

I was pretty meh about it. Of course I'm biased simply cause cars with tiny noses are meh to me. Believe it or not I absolutely adore your grand sport over your lambo. The logo looks a bit weird and I'm hoping they release some special C8s that have larger vents on the hood to look like a Stingray but again.. I want the nose longer.
I am thankful for my C7 and I wont feel bad for not being able to afford a C8.
There is a company that sells rear fins. You just install four fins. Less money of course.

Bruh don’t sale it beautiful car. I have the 2017 grand sport but my interior red and and black. My favorite colors are blue and black as well as red and black. Man that color setup you have is awesome. Also for the fins on back you can’t put a price on your happiness of the way you like for something to appear.

I love it. I'm on my 2nd one. The new one is a Z06 and manual. I absolutely love it. Maybe when the C8 Z06 comes out I will consider that one but honestly I love the styling of the C7.
Great video. would be nice if corvette world was able to tell people their splitter is non-functional and for appearances, only. I learned that the hard way and will be going with OEM stage 2 once I ruin this one ;-)
Not sure why yours was non functional. Mine was perfect. Of course they installed it.

Not quite sure how I got this info. But I was under the impression that Lamborghinis weren't really a daily street car. How is it? How many miles you put on it on the daily? Does it have a driving type selector like the Vette?
I wouldn't recommend a Gallardo as a daily mainly because of the single clutch. A Huracan would make for a good daily driver because of the dual clutch. The URUS which is an suv is a great daily driver.
Yes, the Lambo has an auto mode, manual mode, Sport mode and Corsa mode. Corsa is basically the Track mode. I usually drive in Corsa mode. it gets bad gas mileage but the gears shift smoother and it sounds the best. If you drive in regular manual mode it gets really good gas mileage. Mid to high 20's in the freeway.

No. No tune.
Great video! I just got a quote from Xpel to wrap my 2019 GS here in Houston for $6695. I'm wondering where you had yours done for only $2500.
That price you're paying is not uncommon. The place that did it for me was in Arlington, Tx. I cannot even remember the name.
I just did the front clip on my Z06. It was like $1,600. New Image Detail in DFW area. Could likely do the whole car for probably 3k or so. The guy does great work too. If you want Kody's info just let me know.

Could I get more info on Xpel, I am considering it, what was the cost and what areas did you have done?
I paid $2,700 with tax. I did everything but the roof, hatch and very back. I definitely think it's worth the money. I did some of my Lambo too but it's white and you see dirt along the edges. You don't see it with darker color cars.
Can you explain the difference between Xpel and ceramic coating and why would you do both ? Just bought my first Corvette and am planning on 1. driving it a lot and 2. keeping it a long time. And the ASC mud guards, are xl that much better than the regular ones? TIA.

I believe it is supposed to push the air straight as it comes up from underneath the car but unless you're doing 150 plus for a while it's not really doing anything.

Where did you get the Grand Sport windshield decal?
A company called Corvette Mods. They have terrible reviews but it was just a decal so I wasn't too worried. Plus they print them so it wasn't something they had to order.

Is "Carbon Flash" just fake carbon?
From Bing:
The simple answer is that it is a style of paint. If you are looking at "ground effects, carbon flash" then you know you are looking at ground effects that are going to look like a very shiny metal color. Many Corvettes already use the carbon flash color and this is why you want to get this style of paint for your specific part.

Thanks!! And yeah, I really hated that. It also sounded worse after I uploaded it. But when I filmed this it was like 18 mph winds every day. Just terrible for filming.
ACS is just too high on there stuff ill buy it from somewhere else frist before I,would pay those prices

Automatic transmission?! What on earth? I thought you were an actual Driver. Automatic transmissions are for old people who put around and relax. Whole reason I bought a 2019 GS with a Manual Transmission, is the driving experience. If all you do is roll around town and try to look wealthy, get a Mercedes-Benz, they only make automatics. Disappointed.
