I really wish it was as rosie as you painted out to be! Not only did my guest ghost me but Turo has ghosted me as well causing me a three week delay. This accident has cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket and I have yet to hear back from my adjuster! We have 24 hours to report the accident yet it took Turo a week to respond back to me to even get the claim started! When you need Turo most they completely let you down, beware!!
And by the way Turo double dips when it comes to out-of-pocket expenditure, they collect deductible from the host and from the guest.

Hi. Enjoy your videos very much! Why do you definitely need Turo’s protection plan. Are there no direct plans available for insurance? Are they more costly than Turo’s plans?
So basically if you have 80 or higher plan they won't cover any tire or window damage since they will only repair things that would cost over $1200 as part of their policy. But then if you only have 75 or lower insurance coverage plan, you'll barely make any money especially during winter.
Thank you Saimah, love your videos. What about a third party’s insurance covering small damage, if they are at fault. A driver hit my car while backing out of a parking space and my guest keeps sending me exchange of info and their insurance. I was under the impression that I would deal directly with guest only. Not sure if this has happened to anyone before.

Hey. Thank you for all your videos. Have you hired any 3rd party claim adjuter to have your totaled vehicle appraised for more? One of my last guest totaled my vehicle, but before I accept the offer I wanted to see if I could get an appraisal by someone else. Any information could help.

I bought the minimum protection before confirming with my insurance about coverage- my insurance covers 100%. Now Turo won’t let me modify or cancel the protection. I feel like I just been duped $133
Does The 'Renters' Regular Car Insurance Cover their Insurance or Do They need to take out the Extra insurance or is this just a money grab? Most Insurance companies will cover normal rental cars and it is a money grab, but is it different with Turo?
Which coverage plan do you pick and why? I want to pick the 90% plan with $2500 deductible so I can go after the renter to pay my deductible back since the accident will never be my fault as a host. Is this how it works? And if not, what plan do you recommend?
so basically i will take out Turo coverage plan - I have no car insurance - I am a tourist visiting the USA...so don't see how Turo can go after me when I am back in my home country...
They accept certain losses and sell the collection contract to a collection company for pennies on the dollar.
Question: $2300 in damage caused
Guest protection: $3000 deductible
Host protection: $2500 deductible
Guest agreed to settle with me directly and once the damage came in they ghosted me. Switching to Turo means I will have to pay the $2300 and then Turo goes after the guest for the $2300 as well. So in the end my payment goes to the damage and the guest's payment goes into Turo's pocket! I thought if Turo saw that they agreed to pay me directly Turo would fight for me to get them to pay, but instead, Turo will fight to get money for the damage that they don't have to pay for!
To be clear my cars rent for $275 a day and switching to a high deductible means I keep 15% more. After 55 accident-free rental days any damage over $250 I'm saving money.
Bottom line: It seems hosts are incentivized to NOT pay me because if it's under $2500 It's not worth it for me to file a claim and they end up not having to pay anything. Am I missing something?

Does Turo covers if someone is injured or dies
The only thing you are not mentioning is the fact that even though they do pay for your car your car is going to be sitting in a body shop for a month or more and you will be without a car for a month and without income for a month so they don’t cover that
If you choose to resolve with the guest, what options does the guest have? From what I understand from the guest they will be using insurance since they can't pay out of pocket. Should I move the claim to Turo?

@@Raemuva Sorry - I haven't worked with Turo since last year at this time. My advice is to have nothing to do with Turo. They are a terrible company and do not look after their hosts.
I had a total loss and I found out the guests license was suspended. Which voided my gap insurance in my state. I owe $2000 and turo said there is nothing they can do. I have been wanting to contact the guest off platform to try to collect this debt but I’m not sure if that is my best option. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
why u owe 2000?
After Turos insurance paid for the car I still owed $2000 on the loan. Which in a normal case my gap insurance should have covered it. But my gap insurance was voided once they saw the Police report. Which said she was driving with a suspended license.

@@mykalhenry Turo's response " I don't think we can help there. Turo screens drivers as you know, using a number of tools. At the point of the trip start, the host then validates that by inspecting the license of the guest, to make sure that it appears to be valid, and that the person who is getitng the keys, is the actual approved guest. That meets the legal duty around rental cars, which we follow. Unfortunately, there are cases where a guest misrespresents the license status and we just do not know that, and the trip would go forward. As you know, we paid for the damages to your claim, and the guest voided their protecion for failing to have an active license as agreed to."
@@saimahsexperience So the person providing the Turo car can check the renters license status? I am learning here sorry. *** Still it sounds horrible in Matt's state because what if they just let a non licensed driver drive?
What happen if a person rented a car they rear end another car at a stoplight then the person leaves leaving the rental car there at the scene
Turo will help retrieve the vehicle. Local cops will likely have it towed though if its abandoned.
Have any of your vehicles ever been involved in a fatal accident? Are there any additional considerations that come up when bodily injury comes in to play in a major way?
That’s Turos responsibility as it would be if your car was in a fatal accident when not being rented and your personal insurance would take over. It depends on your chosen coverages either way.
Might as well use turo insurance for the claim because your paying for it anyway

I’ve been looking around and it really seems hosting on Turo is really high risk. The horror stories I’m finding about hosts having their cars wrecked, turo not cooperating, scamming through loopholes and renters just walking away is just not worth it unless you have a fleet of cars.
Beware. These POS renters will stall and say they will pay untill the 20 days are up then Turo wil deny you. I think it's BS. You should have 20 days plus at least 10 days to go back to turo.

As a guest, I encountered hail storm, leaving few dings on my host car, trying to settle it with him amicably it came out to much for me like over $1k. My question what should I do?
