I like it. Just got a 2003 tahoe, not happy with how low it is. You just inspired me 👍
Thanks. Glad i was able to help 🤙🏼
Definitely like how you swing while you’re doing it I like that
Good video man I was thinking of doing this to mine simple easy explanation 👍
Looks dope bro keep up the great work brotha 🤘💯
Thanks brothay
Nice work on this video, clean editing and plenty of disclaimers. One thing I will add is for the torsion key installation I have used a C-Clamp with the foot popped off, there is a steel ball at the end of the screw. That steel ball fits right into the dimple of the torsion key, won't slip or move. then you can tap the foot back on the C-clamp when you are done. In my case I had a few C-clamps so I left mine like it was an now I have a very handy tool.
Thank you. Yeah I noticed that once the foot on the C clamp broke on mine lol. Didn’t know they Come off 😂. O well to late now
@@differentgarageprojects5656 that's exactly how I found out the first time 🤣
If you just replace the torson keys is that enough to raise the front?
@@USPatr yes those keys will do the trick a fully turned stock key gets you about 2". But alignment can be an issue
@@3Wheels1Block thank you I have a 2003 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax, I'm not looking to go full body lift, would like to raise the front end, do you think those spindle lifts would work better... and I've seen those shock extenders, any suggestions, thanks
Nicely done sir!! Very informative!!
Glad you liked it! ✅
Thanks for this, gonna do a 2" lift in my z71
Looks good 🔥🔥
Looks good already ma boy
Thanks carnal. Just a little something ya know.
Appreciate the video carnal . Very helpful
No problem brotha. Para eso estamos!
Looking good I just put 3 inch keys on my truck and new 3 inch rc shocks heard the shock extenders r knwn to shift or something but damn that truck looks good
I was actually looking into the RC shocks too but there was a lot of bad talk about them. So I decided to just buy shock extenders since they were cheaper so far they’re holding up great I’m guessing as long as you torque them down to spec You should have no problems. Thanks brotha I appreciate it it
Thanks for this detailed video bro
No problem glad it helped
Looks good bro 💯💯💯
Looks good bro.. I did the same setup with bilstein shocks all around with 17x9 weld wheels on 35" BFG all terrains.
Thanks. Its the way to go if you trying to save money tbh. Not bad bro my tires are like a 33”
No doubt, make sure you crank keys up to its keeps the body roll down and stiffens up the steering from drifting.
Excellent editing. First your provide an upfront summary of what is needed then you cut directly to doing it.
Love a good full size SUV with a lift.
Great video brother. I have a 05 Yukon xl on a 6 inch bds lift and I’m gonna add these to it for a 8-9 inch suspension lift and I plan to add a 3 inch body lift for a total of roughly 12 inches of total lift. Plan is to run 40s or 42s. I’m a pretty experienced mechanic and figured I’d watch a few videos to maybe pick up a new tip or trick. Needless to say, I can’t think of anything to add. You did a hell of a job explaining everything and keeping the point clear and concise. Keep up the good work sir 🤙🏼
Hell yea thats gonna be tall lol.
Going to be a bad ass yukon forsure.
I appreciate that brother. I tried my best to explain a little bit of everything.
Good stuff bro thanks.
Did you install front shocks extenders and did you have to get alignment?
Beautiful.
Also how did it go four inches higher in the front compared to the back if everything was for 3 inches? Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to do the same thing and I have all the parts
Nice 👍 I did the exact same thing to mine last year it’s better than spending thousands 😂
Yes same here spend less money and make it look the same as other expensive lift kits
That's what brought me here 🤣
Looks dope man! But you said it was like 6 in the front and 3 in the rear? So did you get 4 inches higher off the ground or 6 with your keys bottomed out?
Yeah. So right now it sits at a 4 inch in the front but if I max out the keys it will sit at a 6 inch in front
What's the difference between running a spindle versus tubed UCA's with adjustable ball joints? I've been collecting a pile of parts to do my 05 Tahoe. Never seen the spindles as an option?
The spindles is what’s gonna give you a 3 inch lift on a 2 Wheel Drive But if you have a four-wheel-drive There’s no spindle lift you have to do the torsion keys lift. And adjustable UCA’S All they do is give you adjustable camber.
Are those heavyduty coil springs in the rear, or just stock? Asking because I want to get some Bilstein 5100's for the rear but not sure if the MOOG heavyduty springs will be enough for those longer shocks. Might need the 2 inch spacer with them?
No therea the stock coil springs that come with the truck. Yeah those blistein Run a little longer I think a 2 inch spacer would be a great combo. Otherwise you can run the stock shocks with a extender on it
Grate video buddy
What size tires you running?
Excellent video, I am following your lead. Can you provide me with the link to get the spindles, keys and shock spacers? One more question what size wheels do you have on your tahoe? Are they 16s?
Thanks. And all the links to everything I used or in the description.
Tire size 285/70/17
Did you have to do any grinding on the front-end after running factory wheels?
No
I’ve been debating on stacking a 3inch level and 3 inch spindle. How’s it holding up maintenance (wear and tear) wise?
So far so good. Haven’t Noticed anything yet. The only thing I don’t like much is the body roll
Did those spindles make the tires stick out or stay the same
I believe they got pushed out very little
Hey I have 3 in leveling keys and that’s it on my 02 Yukon.. and and sorta sits level .. I ordered 3 inch coil spacers if I put those in what would it do?.. I want a 6 inch lift, just don’t want to spend 1300$.. I plan on buying shocks and new control arms , I replaced the cv axles, sway bar links and stuff already
Looks great, but my question is are the keys necessary if you just want 3” front and back? Just the spindles and rear blocks should make it level right?
Thanks man. And you are correct if just wanting 3 inches all around you can either do 3 inch lift spindles or 3 inch torsion Keyes. And for rear just the coil spacer. I just did both of them because i wanted a small cali lean.
Sweet appreciate it
No problem 🤙🏼
@@differentgarageprojects5656 does that help with your cv axle as well keeping them almost factory
@@toneytone7497 it's a 2wd so no cv Axel on it
Good job pedro. How is it running so farcical
Great Video brother,
Are the shock extenders a must when doing only the rear 3" lift???
TYI
Thanks brotha. Yeah I definitely recommend them otherwise you’re gonna have a rough ride if you don’t do shock extenders your socks are gonna be maxed out and there will be no room for the shock to travel over bumps.
Thank you, I was thinking on installing The Suburbans 2500 shocks to my Suburban 1500 you have any idea if with these Suburban 2500 shocks might also need the Shock extenders?
@@juanetallicacarclub6012 i wouldn’t bro. Shock extenders would probably be cheaper tbh.
Thanks for the advise, only thing I'm using my Sub for Towing. TY ones again.
Could you run the stock 16" wheels with a 3" wheel spacer? I have 2" spacers with a stock spindle and it looks like a 3" would be out farther then the stock spindle.
You should be fine
After doing a leveling kit, are your tires 100% straight or are they slanted?
A bit off but it’s because I haven’t aligned it yet. Hardly noticeable.
Great video thankyou I have 2005 Chevy tahoe and was looking at same kit you bought I'm wondering the kit I think say extenders are for front shocks would I want to have extenders in front and rear stock shock setup?
No problem glad it helped you out. And only reason i ran shock extenders was to save money. But if dont want to cheap out like i did just buy some shocks that support the leveling kit because you do want some a bit more travel for the shocks.
@@differentgarageprojects5656 Hello I was wondering I bought the 3 inch lift kit like this fo my 2005 Tahoe do I need to buy 3 inch spindles
No
@@differentgarageprojects5656 thankyou for you reply
Can this be done to a 2001 chevy Silverado 1500 2wd? If so i would get the 3 inch spindle's for the front with the keys and for the back i can get the blocks the shock extenders right?
You are correct as long as you have a torsion suspension otherwise you will need lift springs instead of lift Keyes
Do you think I can clear 35s with this set up?
I have similar set up except for the spindles.
You might be able to if you max out you’re torsion bars.
But then its gonna be a rough ride
Saludos! Buenisimo el video.. Gracias! Quick question, how are your upper control arms doing? I read the angle at 3" lift can put too much stress on them. Any issues? Thoughts... Cheers!
Saludos biejon! The upper balljoints aren’t bad at all. It does put more stress on them recommend you swap em out with some moog. Will definitely last a bit longer.
Good video I just wish you showed how to remove it using a normal c clamp but thanks for showing how to install the new one tho
nice my guy
Question?? I had bought some 3" lift spindles and I put them on and the Brake caliper unit wouldn't fit. Would be ok for me to grind off little bit off on brake caliper to fit the spindle? Thanks
I’m assuming you can as long as it’s not a lot because you also don’t wanna shave down too much and make it weak
Thanks for responding bro. Appreciate your videos👊🏽👊🏽
I got a question for you, I was turning my keys up and on both side the bolts that turns the keys up started to turn a bit. Is that normal? I stopped turning them up to be on the safe side
Did you have to mess with torsion bar
So if I get shock extension I don’t need to buy the 3” shocks with the 3” blocks ?
Correct
Does your truck ride more rough after this mod?
Feels like stock suspension honestly. But keep in mind i used shock extenders so shocks wouldn’t be maxed out
@@differentgarageprojects5656 ok got it. That makes sense.
@@differentgarageprojects5656 last question what are you doing to lift your rear higher? You mentioned going even higher in the rear soon. I plan on doing a sound system in mine and will need a little more height to compensate for the drop that will occur for the weight.
I’m looking for some lift springs for the rear. You can check out a company called skyjacker they’re supposed to lift the rear anywhere from 5 to 6 inches
Time lapse was way too fast bro. But thank you I got what I needed
I was reading in another form that if you stack spindles and key that you can’t get a good alignment.not sure if that’s true only when you crack keyszdid you have an issue with getting a good alignment?
Reall I never heard of that I know people doing the same and haven’t had an issue with alignment. And when I cranked The keys all the way I didn’t drive it at all so I wouldn’t know if It would align good.
My keys I turned all the way down I still have two more inches to go if I wanna go higher
did you get lifted control arms ? i’ve seen some where they left the stock control arm and the tires got camber
No mine were stock md it alight good
How do you plan to go higher in the rear? Skyjacker softride coil springs? Look into sumo springs or timbren for both rear & front "bump stop" to increase load capacity.
Yeah I was thinking skyjacker springs. But I never heard of the sumo or Timbren. I might just have to look into them thanks for the info.
@@differentgarageprojects5656 Skyjacker is the only manufacturer that offers a 5-6" spring lift but it will require mods to brake lines, etc. Your only other option is a 3" body lift to go along with what you already did. The sumo & timbren won't lift but they help for towing and replace cheap bumpstop.
@@differentgarageprojects5656 also, when you cranked the torsion bar keys fully did the upper control arm bottom out and contort the ball joint or the did 3" knuckle mitigate that issue. Normally you replace the upper control arm with the 3" keys blasted because the steering geometry gets all fucked off.
I didn’t even check for that when I had the torsion keys cranked up all the way because I knew I wasn’t gonna leave it at that lol It had a big squat to it. Not my style 😂. But you’re Probably right I’m at the bar joint issue. I just didn’t bother to look at the suspension when the keys were cranked
@@n8vjefe ill have to look into that to see which would best suit me. Most likely the body lift now that you mention it. Along with either sumo or timbren springs. Hopefully soon
Anyone know why these spindles/knuckles won't work on a 4x4 do the hubs not fit on 2wd spindles or what is the deal?
you cant lift a 4x4 truck with spindles, some lift kits come with different spindles (knuckles)to mount the upper ball joint and upper control arm in the factory location and let the lower control arm hang lower but thats not whats doing the lifting. 2wd spindles can lift due to the fact that there is no CV shaft that has to come thru the spindle and connect to the hub. 2wd lift spindles just lift the truck by lowering the spindle shaft down making the wheel mount lower on the spindle lifting the truck up.
Love looks on tahoe, i havd question im still learning onnlifts etc, i just got a 6" lift installed, n been reading to go higher, would spindles make it higher?? Member im new to this really appreciate it
Thanks bro and how did they lift your truck because you might already have lift spindles when they installed ur lift.
@@differentgarageprojects5656 they put 6inch in rear and torque the torsion keys to get it at 7 inch in front, was told ifvi wanted go higher innback to install blocks, but i not sure bout front i cant recall n i been researching and found body lifts
@@gz7463 Most likely you already have less spindles upfront that’s what comes included with the lift kit and for the rear you can’t install blocks you can probably go with coil spacers
@@differentgarageprojects5656 gotcha 👌 i was tryn go for 10inch lift front and at least 8inch rear give it cali lean even though some ppl talk shit saying to me , guey your mexican why you lifting your tahoe,???? I said me vale lol 😆 but thanks bro!!! Much love n respecto
@@gz7463 Yeah the only way I see you getting a 10 inch lift is by buying a brand new lift kit that is rated for 10 inches. Yeah no problem bro I appreciate it. Aguevo k les valga verga viejo you’re money you’re truck
Are you doing lift springs in the rear ?
Thats the plan
What arms are you running with I hope not stock i’m running into the issue with stock AR with the 2 inch lift on the front of my tahoe and don’t know what would be the best A-arm to use for the Tahoe cuz I’m bumping it to 3 inch up front
I had no issues at all with running the stock A-arm.
I had mine sitting at a 5 inch lift in the front Never had an issue
@@differentgarageprojects5656 lol well now that I’m looking under my hoe the Arms don’t look bad looks like the passenger side just has a bad ball joint i’m looking at the driver side & the stance. Don’t look bad It don’t look pinched or nothing. On the driver side so imma replace the passenger side and go from there
Nevermind I heard your explanation at the end but now how u gonna add more height to the back?
Lift springs from skyjacker they make a 6” coil spring
How do the ball joint angles look?
Not bad at all. Keep in mind I didn’t max out the torsion keys
El fantasma in the background!!
Do you need those shock extenders cause I didn't use them in the rear ?
You would probably have a smoother ride
If you use them, that way, your socks have more travel space
Nice job. What size tires are on the truck?
Thanks. And 285/70/17
I just ordered the same set up front and back. How long would you say it took you to complete the job? The only thing I'm not changing is the lower control arm.
When i clicked on the link it say 159.99 each in spindles..do they come as a set? Or is it actually individual?
As a set, so 2 pieces
This is so clean
I would like to install this kit as well but idk what size pucks to get 3 in the back or 2 in with 3 inch spindles in front I want to get it as leveled as I can btw
And I was wondering if u could help me out thanks
Thanks
And you can do 3” spindles and 3” coil spacers in rear.
You can always adjust you’re front with the torsion Keyes incase it don’t sit level
So 3 in front and 3 coil spacer are going to be leveled?
@@AlexLopez-jz3ll No, the back will be a little higher, but that’s why you can adjust it with your torsion keys
