- Come shop with us while we restock our cold storage pantry! We prefer to keep a stock of canned goods and other shelf stable items, and it's time to restock!
We're working towards a one year food storage, and after this trip, we are close to six months for most items.
We still do a weekly shopping trip for fresh produce, dairy, deli, bread, and some meat.

That cold food storage is amazing.
Thanks! We love it.
I love pantry stock up videos! Great job!
When buying case lots at Walmart you don’t have to scan each individually can….just call the worker over and they’ll price ring it for you😉 this is something I learned.
Great note! We did have to call the worker over a couple times, but they were so slow that we decided it would still be faster for Christine to just scan everything. 😆
You can also buy your case but then grab one extra can to buy so you buy that can as well without taking apart the boxes
Alice; I have never seen a cold storage like that. That would have been the reason I bought the house. You might be able to store a couple of years worth of food in that pantry. Your large family is Wonderful. It was nice of you to include the budget information. Many people aren't educated on keeping a budget. Merry Christmas to your Lovely Family.
Thank you! Merry Christmas!
When our Walmart will go to all self checkout. That's when I find another store to shop at
Awesome... you guys think like me and my wife. Took us a bit to get the pantry up, but freeze drying food has speed up a lot. Medical and other preps added to the costs this year as well. Love it.
Wow you have your own walmart downstairs in the shape of cold storage! Also it was sooo lovely kids being this trained to help stocking groceries....a rare sight 🙂
That was so incredibly entertaining!!!! Wonderful to see the children helping. Team work makes the dream work...🥰👍
You have quite the army of worker bees! 😂 I do all of the shopping and dragging alone. Best wishes!
Thank you for sharing and explaining the numbers.
I hate the all the self checkout. If I'm buying cases I leave the case in my cart, grab one can and use the hand scanner over and over on the same can. Same with any large jugs. I dreamed of having a cold room like that but no basement.
Your pantry is amazing! It’s so deep!
Right!?
The kids opening up the back door of the van....we do that everytime!!!🤣🤣🤣
I love WinCo and Costco. I would really like that cold storage pantry. Looks amazing. I just joined your community 😎👩🌾
I love your basement pantry and I am not good at minimalizing as I should be, that’s why I like watching other UA-cam minimal living 😊
I loved this! My favorite part was seeing your cute kids help out…and absolutely my kids love to climb on those boxes and crawl through to the other side when we’re at Sam’s club :)
I absolutely love seeing children be children! Such good helpers too! Great hall 💗 thanks for sharing!
Here for that haulllll, y'allllll!!
Holy crap, when she climbed through, I jumped! Haha!
My first time visiting your channel. Your family and your stocked pantry are impressive. God bless.
Thank you!!
Excellent cold storage! Everything in one place. Perfection. And several littles seemed to hang in there til the task end! Well done.
We put expiration 8:48 dates on everything so we can make sure we eat up the oldest stuff first. PS: we use a sharpie pen to mark them. We also put labels on shelf’s so we don’t miss something when shelf is empty because we live so far from stores.
Excellent tips! Thanks for sharing!
Yes I do this too, I put it on the front of everything so I can see it at a glance
I have to do the expiration dates too but I don't think she has to worry about that because she goes through it too fast!
OMG, a woman after my own heart! That was so precisely thought out and perfectly executed! You are a superstar for not missing any details! Can you settle a bet between hubby and I? He says that is a shipping container buried. I'm not sure? We love it.
It is not! It's just a space under our front porch. The house was built with it. It's a fairly common practice around here, but our porch is larger than most here.
@@frogleymom , Thank you, I finally won one! We know sometimes people will do that in areas that don't have basements. That's how our pantry is too. Yours is hugh compared to ours! Very cool!
Happy Holidays!
I see you have Augustin Farms.. they have GREAT sales if you can catch them.. with amazon free shipping you can get things at a really good price
I do have a tip, if I may. The dollar stores. They have some great deals but it’s difficult to get the same things over and over. I would also suggest growing and canning your own fruits and veggies, even meats🤗
product: who gives a crap toilet paper is awesome & approx $1 roll. BIG rolls, soft 2-3 ply. and made from recycled paper.
First time on your channel, I love how everyone helps! I guess big families need to run that way. We have an only child, he’s 30, but gosh I would love to of had more, it looks fun in your home.Merry Christmas
Thank you! Yes, everyone has to pitch in in a big family. 😊 Merry Christmas!
That is an amazing pantry area!
Right! The only thing that could make it better is if it wasn't in the basement. 😜
This is my first time seeing you and your family 🤩, love the pantry, and how all your children help you out. I also order on line with Walmart. Nice to meet your family.
Aaaaah the pantry of my dreams 🥰
Right?!
@@frogleymom SO much. Your own supermarket! Bliss! 🥰
Wow 🤩 I’m jealous of your cold storage area!!
We have a 1 2 3 budget system , 1. Primary need , 2. Secondary need and 3. Want. The primary is what we need right of way , the secondary is we need it but it can wait and want if we have enough money left over we can get it I’d not it can wait until we do have money for it
I love that!! Thank you for sharing!
Great tips, I would have loved your pantry when my kids were at home!
I often use any spare money to stock up too. I have a budget each week and if I’m under then I use that money to buy a stock item. I love that you are frugal with money. I too add up as I’m going around to make sure I don’t overspend. I also do online shop often to stay in budget.
Such a great way to continue to live in budget!
I recognize that WinCo!! :) looking forward to more videos.
I know! I was just there!!!
Im happy I'm not the only only that save money do I can fill my pantry its so satisfying😄😄😄😀😀
Enjoyed the video
Oh my goodness! You're at the Orem Winco! That's Timp behind!!!
😊
That reminds me of my Mom we had twelve foster kids and we would have to budget everything by the book she had she would say we have to rob Peter to pay Paul l wondered who Peter and Paul were we had bunk beds every where
That's amazing! We used to have bunk beds everywhere, but our current house there has enough floor space to unbunk almost everyone. 😊
First comment and like!! Awesome job on this one--you're getting even better!
Walmart self check out, if you let a cashier know you have cases of items, they can add it into the computer, which makes it go easier
That’s huge!
Hi just a new friend! Beautiful family love this! ❤
Thank you!
Wish we had a walk in pantry
Your cold storage is amazing, no basement in SFL😢
I grew up with no basement. In some ways, most of the basement feels like wasted space, because we rarely want to spend time in it...but the cold storage sure is nice!
@@frogleymom I grew up with the basement finished off like a rec room for us kids. Then when moved to Florida no basements
Thanks for sharing your stock Up system. Might I ask what do you do for meat? Do you have multiple freezers? Do you guys buy straight from farmer's like a half of a cow? Just curious if you have any tips for that. We're a family of 9.
Great question! We did buy half a cow this year. In prior years we have purchased 1/4 cow, but it didn't last the whole year.
We have a large upright freezer in the garage, and a side by side fridge/freezer also in the garage. I can show those in a video soon.
I saw that you move your oxyclean to a plastic bin. Great idea.
That's awesome pantry and that's a great budget nice family and helpers Happy Holidays ☃️👍☃️💯☃️😋☃️👏☃️🍀☃️🥰☃️✌️☃️
I just shared you on Facebook. Yes I'm usually stuck at self checkout. Our state also doesn't allow bags which I always forget reusable ugg. Do you get the you have reached the maximum line limit ? Then it forces you to check out? I'm excited to check out your other videos!
I didn't realize there was a limit! We have certainly never reached it. Thank goodness we can use the plastic grocery bags! We use them for small garbage cans or general cleanup. When we build up a large supply, we can send them to our library...they use them to bag books to protect them from the rain.
Thanks for the share!
Specs of your cold storage would be helpful
Length width
And depth of shelves.
This is awesome, love it new sub here.
Also, you dont have to scan all the cans you can do quinity with one of the clurks overseeing the self checkout. We do but we are small town Ne not sure where you are as I just found your channle.
Yes, the clerk who was on duty at the time was quite distracted and took a super long time to come help when we accidentally scanned something twice. Even scanning one at a time, it was faster to do it ourselves. 😊
Control4 jacket in the wild! Assuming husband does smart homes or programs?
Joseph actually found that at a thrift store. 😆
I enjoyed the shopping. But what i don't get is big kids in shopping cart? what is up with that?
She was tired from work and wanted to. What's the harm?
Alice: why the concern about the children. They weren't running wild, they were respectful of others. Those that complain don't know how to laugh and have fun. Let children have a little fun, as long as they aren't putting anyone in danger. Children are blessings!
Do you grow any of your own food? Do you make any soup from scratch? It could work out cheaper for you, be healthier, and you could include the children in making it.
We do not grow our own food. We have tried a couple times, but with our horrible soil and my black thumb it hasn't worked out. It has ended up being super expensive for getting very little out of the garden. Maybe someday.
We do occasionally make soups from scratch, and I often have ingredients on hand for it...but again, I am not very good at the soups and most of the time convenience trumps the cost.
We all have to play to our strengths, and honestly, cooking food in general is not my strength. 😜
@@frogleymom bless you. At least you tried. I grow sunchoke, potatoes and herbs. I struggle with tomatoes and beans. I love to make soup and broth from scratch, but it's messy and time-consuming.
I loved how you did that split screen! How did you do that?
Thanks! My editing software has a "mask" option. I played around with that and the zoom features.
Where are you guys located?
Why don't you buy bigger veggie can goods?
We only go through a can or two at a time, so it makes more sense to buy the smaller cans. In some stores, the smaller ones are actually cheaper per ounce anyway.
How do you go in with your list at winco? Do you have the price with the cost next to the item and if winco is cheaper then you buy it? What’s your method?
Yep, that's basically it. I have a list in a notebook, and I draw some columns next to the list for Walmart prices and for Costco prices. I compare prices and generally go with the lowest price per ounce.
Have you gone to the Smiths case lot sale?
I have not specifically checked Smith's recently. We have Macey's here that also does a case lot sale and when I compared prices there, a few things were cheaper...but most were similar to the Winco/Walmart/Costco options, and some were still more expensive.
Overall, it hasn't made a ton of difference for us to shop the case lots.
I absolutely would never allow my children to climb around a grocery store or any store like that. It is disrespectful to the employees who work hard to stack, and to the other shoppers who should not have to deal with someone’s kids acting like this. I would be completely embarrassed.
I think many of us are fairly normal and kids are imperfect.
I appreciate your comment but in these times where the world locked our kiddos down, it sure is nice to see normal exploration and actions.
Of course, I grew up with 8 siblings and have 4 children and saw normal children behavior.
For the record, did you note how incredibly helpful the children were? Including the youngest to the oldest. My applause goes to this mom and her children.
My kids (2 boys, 1 girl) definitely climb on the large pallets in Costco/Sam’s, heck, even Home Depot. It’s not my favorite thing that they do, but they aren’t hurting any of the products. They think it’s a cool fort under there. The worst thing that happens is they dirty their clothes. Props to you for being able to shop with your children period. Some parent can’t do that. Life is too short to let Karen’s rule the world!
@@jengarza2877 It’s not about letting children be children, but the point of being a parent is teaching them when and where what behavior is proper.
The grocery store is not a jungle gym. So teach your children to not act like it is. *Especially* if it’s interfering with other shoppers- you can and *will* be asked to leave.
Those are grocery items other people are going to buy; they shouldn’t worry about if a shoe that’s been god knows where has stepped on the lid of their can.
Children are going to be children, but parents are meant to be parents. Do your job and parent your child.
101% agree with you
Yup me too! Not to mention how dangerous it is for the kids
In an alternate universe this would be Elon Musk's wife doing this! He has 9 kids but I doubt he has ever changed a diaper. The emperors of the Roman Empire are alive and well!
Why dont you have a garden and can your food? Much healthier. Save money.
We have tried!! Our soil here is terrible and with the amendments needed to grow anything it is actually more expensive. Plus, I have a terrible black thumb and can't seem to grow anything. 🤣 we spent $500 one year building grow boxes and trucking in expensive growing soil. I spent all summer working with the kids weeding and watering...for all our efforts we got a handful of tomatoes and one miserable looking pepper (with several pepper plants). Nothing else we tried to grow produced anything.
We will keep trying as I know it is healthier, but it is neither a consistent source of food for us, nor a cheaper option.
We did have fruit trees at our last house and we canned applesauce. We haven't planted new fruit trees yet, but when our neighbors have surplus and share, we have canned that.
I hate self scan, you are replacing someone’s job plus you have to scan and bag your own stuff plus higher prices and greater profits for them
I hope you are only letting your children behave that way in the store for your video!
I wish I could say it was just for the video! 😂🤦♀️
They were gorgeous 😍
😂 like we can totally control our kids ever!
