The video you’ve all been waiting for! 🤣
The one where we spent a ridiculous amount of money….$5,635 to be exact 😮😬
BUT let’s break the numbers down, shall we!?
    $5,635-$499(play set doesn’t count towards groceries)= $5,136
    $5,136 / 8 (months) = $642
    $642 / 4 (weeks) = $160
Now does $160 sound like a lot of money to be spending on groceries per week for a FAMILY OF 7?! Definitely not!
About a month after we shop at Costco we start shopping again for produce and such…$50-$200 bi weekly. So AT MOST we spend $260 a week on groceries for our large family.
So now that you see the breakdown what do you think? Is my way of shopping stupid? Or smart? 🤔
    Let me know your thoughts!!

I have a family of 6. I don’t know why people hate on this so much. If you remove the play set price you spent an average of 700 per month for a family of 7, if people take the time to think that’s 100 per person. Food, snacks, cleaning and toiletries. Wow! Coming from a household of a single mother where we did not know where our next meal was coming from, this makes my heart feel warm. I am now 25 living on my own, and at this point I’m budgeting to make sure I get good, sustainable food but enough to last me a while. One day I hope I can become a wife/mother who can provide this way for myself and my family. To feel secure is the best feeling in the world for a kid or an adult who never had security. Good job mom & dad. I strive to make this kind of money and think this smart.

I have 4 children and it really bothers me that people have negative things to say. When you have a herd of children, you don’t have time to go to the grocery store often. Plus, buying in bulk saves ALOT of money! The way you are shopping is actually saving your family a ton of
Money. The USDA says a family of 7 (young children ) spend $859 a month on food. That’s $10,308 a year. What you just bought at 5600, with easily over $1000 spent on non- food items and it lasts you 8 months means you will be spending a substantial amount less than the average family of 7. So you are actually being incredibly smart shopping this way… the people who are leaving rude comments clearly don’t understand how budgeting for your family works. Keep doing what you are momma! You are doing awesome!!

I see moms in the parking lot with even one kid and I kind of stay within running reach, kid in cart or around or in midst of the mom pulling all her muscles getting toddler/baby into the back seat and attaching things so they don't fall out. It's nearly 100 outside and she's sweating and now needs a shower, then has to load heavy bags of things falling everywhere and hoping someone doesn't steal her car or her kid or her or her stuff. Then I am always terrified that these people that I don't even know are going to get hit by a car while going home. All for FOOD and if kids, clothing for a growing kid. I really get mad if I see a woman in a TINY car bending over like a yogi trying to fasten the kid in the carseat. I actually do yogi moves and get all bent out of shape if I have to bend over to grab things out of the back seat. I would be like, TIMEOUT ...I need someone else to shop for me. So this seems super smart, stocking up. I really see why women used to do things in packs long ago. I LOVE the way the Hutterites live (in communities where they do tasks together and are safe).

Yes. Most people do not have the space to store that much stuff. I save more money buying things from Kroger when things are on sale or the "Buy 5..." We have a Costco too and go for paper towels and some freezer things we love from there. We save far more money by making sauces from scratch. It was funny to see the whipping cream, butter and all the cheeses and then see she bought alfredo sauce. She has all the ingredients to make it from scratch if she has garlic. I know canned stuff is easy, but it's so full of preservatives. From scratch takes a couple extra minutes but it's so worth it, and it saves money.

I cannot tell you how often I have the same customers come in spending over a hundred dollars because of impulse buying/expensive foods (like pre-prepared foods like subs, etc.). A lot of people come in almost nightly and buy food for the next day, which wastes so much time and leads them to spend excess money as well. You’re saving so much time and money by doing it this way and you’re almost definitely eating healthier, too. Plus I love watching big hauls😂😂

While I wouldn’t knock another person for their way esp considering large families should have more food on hand on an everyday basis..
I still can’t help but feel there’s a lot of “cons” for this style of shopping.
    1. Expiry dates and freshness. Things go bad, rancid, chips aren’t as fresh.
    2. Sheer amount of storage needed to be dedicated for hauls
    3. If you only do a big shop once in 8 mo you miss everything that’s OOS
4 not to mention sales, clearance , holiday and special items.
    5. You’re going to have to go back every 2 weeks anyway for produce and dairy so why stock up on things that take forever to use? For example, if I did this method (once every 8 mo with biweekly trips) I would tweak by getting each big item when it was on sale, or only once at a time . Things like laundry soap, dish tabs, salt, pepper and spices, baby wipes, protein powder etc. The rest I would dovetail in with my biweekly shops. I wouldn’t choose to buy 5 bags of Brazil nuts for example.
The only way this concept makes sense in my head is if a) they didn’t live near a Costco and they could only get there 1-2x a year or b) they get very sporadic income and get huge chunks at once , and aren’t good at budgeting. In that case the stockpile would be a forced savings on future groceries.
    But that’s just me.

Bread is easy. You put the entire loaf in the freezer, that's it. No faffing about, simply put it in as is and freeze. Put entire loaf in fridge to defrost and keep it there to use as needed. Down unda we can't keep bread out on the counter as it goes moldy within a day or two (especially in summer, it's hot here!). Bread lives in the fridge and it's fine. Been doing it for 14 years.

This is a good food rule yes. In reality if the food is still super cold you can refreeze. But I dont know you so I don’t recommend it at all, meaning I don’t know how diligent you are and how hygienic your practices are. I wouldn’t do chicken, but beef is fine. Bread is fine. A lot of Europeans go shopping every single day 🤮🤮🤮🤮 (besides Sunday. Sunday grocery stores are closed in some European countries). Europeans have small refrigerators and small or no storage space for extra. When they see all this food they just see it going into the trash. A lot of them dont understand buying in bulk. I'll have to ease my husband buying in bulk when he finally gets his greencard and we're capable of moving. My husband isnt totally sold on buying in bulk. Everyone from the US knows people living in the US a lot of times (not always) have huge refrigerators, big closets to store stuff, sometimes people have their very own basement to store stuff, etc.
*Edit if Europeans had a little understanding of the US they would know homes are generally speaking (meaning not always) much much much bigger than European homes.
Also my first few lines should have given you a clue that I knew Europe isnt the US. Right off the bat I said "people are worried about wasted food." I also said along the lines. A lot of the negative comments seemed to be coming from Europeans. "Europeans tend to shop everyday (besides Sunday)." I should have said some European stores are closed on Sunday. The areas I have been to in Spain stores are open on Sunday.

I’ve only just found your channel and…….WOW! I aspire to be this organized and practical some fine day. I find myself stopping at the grocery store almost every afternoon on my way home and I absolutely hate it. I wind up spending more money and don’t really ever have what I need. Also, it’s STRESSFUL! Sending blessings and hugs.

I love when you upload these hauls! The bigger the better. A lot of people don’t understand how much food kids go through. I have 4 boys. They literally make Sams my main grocery store. I have been shopping for emergency staples since the pandemic . With the prices going up I think it’s important to stay stocked up.

I absolutely love your hair. Beautiful. I have a family of 6 and I wish I had the storage space for all that. We have a costco and hour away so we go 1 time a month. My mom loves Brazil nuts so I might have to make her a goodie box with snacks as a birthday or Christmas gift. You totally rock.

Wow, thank you for breaking it down and your right it’s cheaper to do it your way. Thanks for sharing and I’d love to know how you store it all so it doesn’t go bad. I watch these videos for ideas on long time storage ideas (family of me and two teenagers! So they are bottomless pits when it comes to food lol) 😀

Nuts do go rancid because of the oils in them. The experts say to store nuts in the freezer Nice haul.

Would they still be crunchy once thawed?

@@SoniaBladeGodsRemnant I have frozen nuts before and they usually turn out fine, but a good way to crisp them back up is to just toss them in a dry pan and toast them for a few mins before eating them.

Watching these makes me want to go to costco (we don’t have costco here in NZ) the size of everything!! And the range. So cool
