This match reignited Serena’s will to win 🏆
Straight up facts 💯
Nah she just lost a match.
This match gave us Serena 2.0. Out of defeat came unbelievable victory!
Yes! She went on to win wim, uso, aus and the following french
And the olympic gold
... and PEDs usage
@@binkyxz3 …for Sharapova and Halep. I know, very sad. Luckily Serena never used PEDs! Everyone thought it was Serena using but turns out it was white, blonde, Sharapova doping. Makes her slams null and void on my eyes.
It’s not that deep
A blessing in disguise. She met Patrick because of this!
Patrick didn't do shit. The most overrated coach in history, seriously. Serena has went through slumps before and she always came back better than ever. That's what happened after RG 2012.
@@user-gu1un7pb7k Then why did Serena win 10 of the 23 slams she won over 17-and-a-half years in just 4-and-a-half?
@@itzhenrythegamerguy4564 Because she played her way back into form after a slump following an inury comeback. Before that injury she had won AO2009, Wimbledon 2009, AO 2010, Wimbledon 2010 and then suffered the injury. Patrick wasn't responsible for those slam victories, and he wasn't responsible for her slam victories after.
@@user-gu1un7pb7k it wasn't necessarily the game itself, but the mental side. I agree that coaches tend to get a little too much credit at times for the great players, but he still had a tangible impact on her game.
@@thebigsquirrel50 Coaches get way too much credit in the WTA. You don't see it in the ATP. They even had coaches press conferences for WTA players at the Australian Open 2019.
And I don't think it's coincidental.
First tennis match I ever watched on TV live. Safe to say this got me hooked on the sport.
Me too... But 10 years more back on Roland garros final against Venus...
almost crying to see Serena down 0-4 in the 3rd set, the pressure
If Razzano gets so many hindrance penalty for THAT, then many players on WTA today would lose a set just for hindrance!
30:43 best serve in history
Even Dementieva (my best player) does better lol
I'd like to see you serve after 3 hours of an heroic battle against the favourite of the competition and with leg cramps.
@@guillaumeguerin6372 bro its just a joke
Serena's outfit was one of the best here........
It really was. I loved this look. I just knew she would win because her preparation was incredible. Luckily, this was a learning stone for her and boy did she learn. Won almost everything after this defeat.
Honestly I wish she would have worn that color more often it worked so well on her skin
Razzano certainly felt like she just won the Grand Slam! 🙌🏼 Beating Serena comes close to feeling like that!!
Frfr and lost in the next round 🤣🤣🤣
Serena won only 73 tournaments but had 156 losses.
@@malcolmnorman5694 cry for us some more
@@JSmith-zr2ve what happened after that loss though? Serena went on to win two majors and Olympic gold so you cry more.
The win vanished her pain😮😮😮
I love the announcer at the end of the match. I actually want his job.
27:54
Razzano: *grunts a bit differently*
Umpire for no reason : "Hindrance !"
Its because she grunted when Serena was about to hit. Its ok when you grunt while hitting but not after hitting. Serena had the same trouble in 2011 and 2015, after yelling come on too early
Oh please at 19:06 Serena hit a clean winner before the out call was made and Razzano was nowhere close to the ball even after it bounced, not even close. It was a winner but Razzano got a free replay. So give me a break.
Also at 26:49 Razzano received already her second code violation and lost a point. So when she broke the rules again at 27:54 she should have lost a GAME for the third infraction, just as Serena was in 2018 even though she didn’t even see her coach or receive any coaching
@@bryanmartin5901 and before that the umpire was about to call hindrance but decided not to.
I think she didn't the game away because it was the same warning. Serena got 3 different warnings, the latter of which was unnecessary
34:07 yeah this was so “momentous” that she carried all the “momentum” into a second round loss against an inferior player. Meanwhile Serena won the French 2 of the following 3 years.
Cry for us, cupcake
This match is what birthed Super Serena
Yawn.
Tuesday 29th May 2012
Why do you put that sad music in the end of every set? As if something tragic is going on. I don't get it. And that is the case for every RG extended highlights upload.
im so happy to see Serena handle the bs. that's how strong we are as black folks. Serena looks good
there was a lot of bs calls
i want to see the whole match
When did Serena began to cry in this match?
Those hindrance calls against Razzano were really weird and unnecessary. I think Asderaki wanted to compensate for the hindrance she called against Serena at UO 11 final. Really weak character if that is the case.
At least with the first one at 4-0, that was cause for a "hindrance" call. Not that it necessarily bothered Serena, but that's just within the rules, as the "extra noise" after the shot counts, grimacing or not.
-Now, why it was replayed rather than a point penalty like Serena's case before, I have no idea- (I just read the text at the bottom) But the umpire isn't making up for anything at the US Open. Don't think about it too hard that way because you'll fool yourself into thinking that everyone's mindset is that way.
Agreed. I hardly noticed the 'interference'. Serena herself could be heard a mile away at times.
@@kevinrafferty7250 doing what fighting to stay in the match 🤷🏾♂️
Or maybe it was the rules. I just find it funny that there was no automatic point penalty like there was when Serena had her issue.
At 19:06 the umpire made the wrong call. Serena hit a winner and then the call came, but Serena’s shot was a clear winner as Razzano was nowhere near the ball, not even within 5-10 feet of touching it much less putting it in play. They will do anything to prevent Serena from winning.
Upload Rafa vs Murray 2011 and 2014 Roland Garros semis
Claramente una jugadora inferior que se aprovechó de un pésimo partido de Serena. Se nota que son de dos niveles distintos.
Did you guys just upload a rg classics of a 1st round women's match rather than from the nadal djokovic rg 2021 Semifinal?
This isn’t just any woman. It’s “Serena Williams “ the icon of the sport
@@danielgeorgetheoneandonly those arent just 2 men theyre nadal and djokovic and the level of their match was 20 times higher than this one
@@simpelmartin4239 then people like you say,you love women🤦🏻♂️. When will women finally get to do something without men being mentioned??? Please tell me I’m begging to know😪
I do wanna see that match again 😩
The thing is this was Serena's sole loss at a first round in a grand slam
i remember the hindrance call... was it Daniil or Zverev.....
What are you talking about…neither of them is playing here
I just realized Serena did some surgery to her face cos she sure looks different now
It's called aging and weight. Different make up tones
@@black_nebula I recognized a botox and filler whenever i see one.. Venus is just as old and i can see the difference
I watched this when it happened, I don't remember this cramping-crying out thing Razzanno was doing but screw her. It does not matter that you are cramping, that's actually your own fault, same with those little cries. If you cannot play without crying out in pain while you play, that means you should stop. Selfish player she was in this match. Big French ego clearly.
They say Serena is the greatest of all time but in reality, “in what”? She is not the winner of most grand slam.!!! But people think because she is black she deserves all the titles! Now … yes she is the first black player with the most titles but that is it! So stop being ignorant people…
It has nothing to do with her skin color. It's y'all who are more concerned about her skin lmao. She's the most majors in OPEN ERA. 14 doubles grand slams and 4 Olympic gold.
Her resume speaks for itself. Stay salty
Razzano is such a faker. Shady player. Serena knew it
