    Good win for Sloane! Also wasn’t this the year that Serena rolled her ankle like 4 times during the Australian swing?! Amazing that she even made the quarters!!

    I really do believe in 2-3 years Sloane will be competing for these massive titles. A fantastic prospect for the future

      Well, not quite well aged.
      Won 1 slam out of nowhere, then returned to nowhere.

      @@SmithyPL nowhere’s harsh- she won Miami the year after, then final at the French Open and final at the 2018 WTA Masters- she actually reached the 3rd place in the rankings in 2018. But yeah she could have won at least a few more slams.

      @@cococrnt2looking at these highlights it seems to have been an underachieving career. Phenomenal speed, massive power on the ground strokes especially the forehand, enough shape to the shots for consistency, excellent volleys and a thunderous first serve. Some players just can’t work out their own talent - Kuznetsova was another one who had all the game and wasted it but at least she did a bit better than Sloane results wise.

    I've never seen Sloan play this type.of tennis since this match. Like at how she's matching Serena for pace, how she's hurting Serena with the forehand, how she's attacking second serves. She doesn't do any of that anymore

      Sean Jenkins It looks like she's back on track though with her first WTA tour win.**

      JordanjamesX Apparently, she's having a great run. Props to her but she's still inconsistent. Look, I'm rootin' and waiting for Sloan to get into major semis and finals. Hopefully, she'll win a few majors.*

    Serena up a set and a break and most would have thought this match was a foregone conclusion. Obviously someone's level dropped and congrats to Sloane for taking advantage and not crumbling. Hopefully she improves her mental aspect and shot selection because the power is there to be a top 5 wta member.

    Sloane is my favorite WTA player! I just wish she was more consistent in her matches if she plays like this most of the time she would always be in the top 5!

    No one has ever beat both Williams... Until now. I certainly respect her but Williams broke the barriers for all the rest.

    What the hell happened to Sloane's game after this match?, she was taking it to Serena THE WHOLE TIME!!,..matching her shot for shot, power for power. She needs this mojo back.

      serena was injured here from her 1st round match. Sloane is my fav tennis player and she's improved big time. just mentally it's her problem now.

      Basel Waar you're right. You can see in the 2nd and 3 set. Not her best serves game and very slow.

    • @jethrodassam
      @jethrodassam 8 років тому

      That's always her excuse. She never gives credit to her opponent. Why is she hurt so much? It's tennis not football.

    sloane has a strong forehand but a weak backhand. serena did not see that in their match here but i guess she saw that now coz serena has beaten her since.
