My sister is planning on going down there for grad school next year - her primary reason is to be closer to Miami where a bunch of cruise ships set off from, her and her bf are obsessed with cruises and island hopping 🫣🤷🏻♂️ I get what you’re saying about not being overly open about your sexuality, I’m the same way. I only just last week came out to my mom and sisters - I’m 20 🫠 - I have a really close relationship to all of them, nor was I worried about telling them, just didn’t feel like it was necessary. Was honestly more frustrating that it’s something almost *required* to say, because being straight is still the default that everyone expects 🙄 I was honestly gonna wait until I met someone to say anything but that mindset almost kept me caged in and kept me from being more expressive. Of course if you feel uncomfortable coming out, you should not do it. However, visibility helps to stop discrimination. One of the reasons why the LGBTQ community has made significant advances is because people came out as gay, and family and friends realized they couldn't discriminate against their own loved ones. There are alot of countries where being gay is illegal, and many more countries where same-sex marriage is illegal so we still have a long way to go. There's many people who live in places who may feel more empowered to be themselves :) thanks for your videos

Florida is a very conservative part of the US, if you wanted warm weather year round, and a more accepting feel like Canada you should have chosen Southern California, like around Los Angeles.

For all practical purpose you are northerner or snowbird as they call them in Florida. Canada and Florida are apples to oranges. You would have less of a culture shock had you moved to say the New England region rather than the south. Florida is more southern and latin in culture than other states so it's it's own thing. You might consider moving again in future when graduate to say some place in the Northeast. I think you might feel more at home there despite the weather.
