I think you talking about your foster care experiences promotes awareness to those seeking to foster/adopt and gives hope to other kids. I wish you stability, acceptance, success and peace of mind bro. I’m so glad you have found a family who loves you. You are lucky to have found happiness and your foster family are lucky to have you as well. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

I'm an orphan from 7-11, got adopted the first time at 12 then on and off the foster care 6 times til I'm fully adopted at 14. They are good people bruh tbh I kinda blend into them perfectly even with my adoptive siblings. I'm now senior and I've meet many fella in foster care that I befriended with and have a LD connection with them. But without mental health journey I have ADHD, depression and anxiety. Thank you for sharing your story tho! Keep it up updating!!

After all the turmoil you've been through, I'm not surprised you've got mental illnesses - they're a fair response to what you've been through. Also means they'll soften over time. I have a very different story, but I will tell you if you can keep counting the good things, eventually they will out weigh most of the bad.

ahhh I know how you feel. My brother and I went through foster home after foster home but it started when we were like two and three years old... My mom who put us there had no idea what she was doing. We became wards of the state. The first family we went to ... this woman had so many children she couldn't handle us all so we were strapped and tied in a crib with our hands and feet tied so we couldn't get out. When my mom came to see us, she would see that we had burns around our wrists and ankles. My mom thought she had done the right thing by putting us there because she couldn't afford to keep us until she found out we were abused. This woman got shut down. My mom couldn't take us back because she couldn't afford it at the time so we proceeded to go to foster home after foster home and the physical abuse continued. So I can totally relate to your story. Thank you for sharing.

Cats are engineered to not trust. But they can push that evolutionary skill aside, if only for a short time. I am so glad you and your brother found a permanent home! I hope that the 2 of you can find a way to trust people. It took me many years to get to that point with a person. Cats always seemed so easy and loving.

Being adopted into a family that already had 4 other adopted kids creating a big family was the greatest blessing I have ever received. Each of my siblings , including myself have health issues and concerns that not once caused my loving parent to ever say anything to us other than we love you. Try not to worry too much about joking and playing around with you brother, that’s what brothers do. Just out of the blue with no reason tell them I LOVE YOU! And if you feel the sudden urge let them both know you’re my mom and dad and that you just took the long way home to get them

Such a great story. I live in Moldova (I'm an American and lived in Raleigh for a while, but Nashville is my base, now) and assist foster families through the Baptist Union here. I live on a compound sort of like the Baptist Children's Home of NC. We have 4 families currently with 23 kids in all. Each family has a mom and dad and the kids stay with one family for the most part, although there are certain circumstances where we might move a child to be with another sibling. I love hearing that you now have parents who consider you and your brother their 'whole world'. That is an encouraging thing to hear.

Thanks for sharing! As someone who experienced decades of trauma, I can only share what I wish someone had shared with me when I was your age:
    Marcus Aurelius - Meditations
    Epictetus - Enchiridion
    Seneca
Plato - The Trial and Death of Socrates
    And on anxiety/panic, the quote:
“Sometimes even to live is an act of courage.” So many people never have to actually BE brave because they never experience real, deep, chronic fear. Their lives are relatively comfortable.
But We cannot be brave unless we are first afraid. Otherwise we are simply ignorant to the dangers around us. If you don’t know the growl in the jungle is a hungry jaguar, you won’t be afraid to approach the sound.
So, when you are afraid, when you think there’s no escape from the fear, THEN every day you persist anyway, every day you get up and you go on, you shower, you get dressed, every day you go to work or school, every day you do the the things most people take for granted, know you are doing so facing fear, and you are being brave. You are deciding to continue on where most people in your situation would not.
    🙏

Your story is sad but yet also awesome! I'll never understand what you (and your brother) have gone through, however, making this video has brought me, and no doubt others, great awareness of this situation and subject! So I thank you for sharing it!
You made me laugh when you said that you are no longer cute because you have hair growing on your legs and face so therefore you are now handsome! Well, for a young man, please take this as a compliment, when I say, yes you are a handsome young man and you are still cute looking! You can be both!!!
However, don't concentrate on your looks, your personality and outlook on life is more important - use your past as a positive and strength to drive you forward for future whilst doing your best to enjoy your present!
If like to follow you and your journey, so I have subscribed! I hope you have a great community on UA-cam, who will support and encourage you as you move forward, so feel free to reach out to us if ever you need anything! So take care and look after your brother! Respect and highest regards, from your new YT friend! Pin your email in comments or leave it in description.

I fostered 4 and Adopted 2. Sorry you got moved so much, the system is set up for the convenience of the Courts and Social Workers not the best interest of the kids. Many New Foster Parents don't realize how long it takes, and how hard it is to make a kid feel welcome and be there for them no matter what. Glad you found your forever family.

Unexpected YT suggestion. I have no personal experience with social services but, from friends, heard lots of negative stories, that never went positive. I think you have hit the nail on the head (using different words) of all the people available/needing a forever family, your now parents, choose you and your brother.... how awesome is that! :) :) I saw you go silent to avoid showing the emotions.... a typical guy thing for sure - lol Thank you for sharing.
I don't have a name to suggest, but pick a name that reflects the cat... and one they will respond to. One of mine was named Zoomer, and yes that name totally fit - full speed through the house, pushing screen door open, across the yard and back, up the tree, across the roof, then garage roof back to the house, leaping to the tree, where she would survey her kingdom for a bit... average was 12 seconds for the round trip. -lol It's clear you like the kitten, so I hope you don't mind my boldness, most cat lovers like to expand their kitty's environment (for lack of a better word) consider having look at Jackson Galaxy videos (among others) At one time he did a TV or cable show called "My Cat from Hell" (about repairing the cat/human relationship) most of his work now is in helping people enriching the cat/home environment as well as prevention of developing a 'cat from hell'. Warm hugs to you and family.

Hi Kiddo, your video just popped up on my feed and I'm glad it did. Thanks for telling your story. I am so glad it had a happy ending for you and your brother. It's heartbreaking to think of you being bounced around from family to family and from school to school. It's hard enough to need foster care without that disruption in your young lives. Your wellbeing should have been the priority at all times. But at least now you have a forever family where you both are loved, needed and wanted. And by the way, you are cute, and as far as your parents are concerned, you always will be. They're blessed to have you two wonderful boys in their lives just as you are blessed to have them. I've subscribed. Best wishes❤

    • @charliehiker2247
      @charliehiker2247 Місяць тому

He mentioned ADHD, and other challenges... a friend of mine had ADHD and other challenges... he had 3 placements in 6 months, because the foster parents were unprepared and unable (or unwilling) to cope and likely asked for / demanded a change/review of placement. This was 20 years ago, and from what I've seen/heard, don't think much has changed to make sure fosters can 'handle' particular challenges. (just opinion, not fact) I know a couple that does foster some types of 'special needs' but they also have extensive training / education and experience in that field.
