Bro liked my comment, just reminded me how grateful I am that I got rid of this car 😂. Not going to lie tho, a Chrysler 300 and guys like him taught me how to fix my own vehicles lol
This video rocks ,very helpful. By the way. Part # 626-319 at AutoZone is the lower heater core hose. The one from the video is the upper hose which they do not sale at ALL. You've ll have to order 1 or custom your own like the video.
You can get a brass pex tee 1x1x1/2(one by one by half) then you dont need to do none of that teflon tape crap this guy did should only be about $7 dont get any cheap plastic aftermarket tees they'll just break like this in the long run
There are cheaper hose alternative for hoses. Gates #24365 or Dorman #626-320, both are under 60 dollars. I also don't recommend the brass fitting because one hose end is attached to the heater core and I believe the extra weight is bad for the heater core.
Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't introducing copper into a cooling system that has the coolant running through iron and aluminum components induce galvanic corrosion in the aluminum cooling system parts?
Auto manufacturers have been mixing metal components in the cooling system for years. Early radiators and heater cores were copper, then aluminum. Then there's the cast iron engine block if it's not made out of aluminum. Not to mention aluminum intake manifolds on cast iron blocks. So no, mixing metals in the cooling system won't cause galvanic corrosion.
