You can tell when UA-cam started to add their algorithm then suddenly all the cooperations and ads pay channel started to skyrocket. 2005-2009 was the best time.

It feels strangely sad to see a list once dominated by small, independent creators be taken over by big corporate channels and celebrities with preexisting brands. Some of those left behind *cough cough Fred* weren't necessarily the highest-quality content, but it does feel like UA-cam has slowly lost its identity, going from a community to merely a platform.

Honestly Lucas should’ve kept the Fred channel so it could’ve been one of the first UA-cam channels that’s still alive compared to others that keeps leaving the channels dead.

You can really see when the shift from user created content to brand and larger media content begin in the mid 2010s. It's a shame.
