What I love about Stahelski is that he allocated the budget to the right places. Grounded, practical action in famous setpieces with minimal CGI (or at the very least, unnoticeable CGI) has ensured the budget was stretched to all the right areas. Great stuff, and to think they shot hours more content that could have been used!
Yeah. I read an interview with Stahelski where he said they choreographed that fight near L' Arc de Triomphe over a 3 month period.
It's so incredible to just watch this franchise and see him grow as a filmmaker. He talks about how every film he pushes his whole team to do just a little better, and it absolutely shows.
The fact that the movie adaptation of 'Ghost of Tsushima' will be directed by Stahelski gives me so much hope for the project. It's going to be AMAZING

Agreed! Looking at how beautiful the Japan Continental scenes are, I can only imagine how great of job he will do with Ghost of Tsushima. That game got me through the pandemic, and is one of my all time favs. The film will be incredible as well, if this film is any indication.
But those Tsushima Funko pops now then . They'll be worth 50-75 when this film ever comes out

I went to see John Wick yesterday evening, and the theater was packed. There were more people there than I have seen in years, and that's including the Covid years. I can't remember the last movie I saw where the theater was this full.
I would not be surprised if this movie beats all expectations, and then some.
And then they ruined by killing him off

Yeah JW4 was like a Crescendo. I think JW story got to end there. I think they need to do a spin off with one of them side characters doing assasin jobs for the table etc, and show how when you truly defy the table you get dealth with quick...unlike John Wick who will go down as a Legend, and high table and other assasins will fear to say his name out loud 😅

I read that AMC wants more premium screens but has over $5 billion in debt and so no one is willing to invest in the company so they can fund it. Their stock is so bad right now.

John Wick 4 is an absolute must see for fans of action movies. Such a blast to see in theaters and definitely worth the extra bit to see it on a premium screen

I think talent like Stahelski, Daley & Goldstein should steer clear of big franchises like Marvel, DC and Star Wars. Those franchises are tanking more careers than they’re making lately. Stahelski has the right upcoming projects picked out!
Well technically Daley & Goldstein did work on a Marvel project. They co-wrote the script for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Shame. I thought Shazam 2 was excellent! Great story and fantastic CGI.
Grace was right and they should have given Wonder Woman an action scene somewhere. Putting her in the TV spot, made me less concerned about what happened to Billy. Both this movie and _Quantumania_ could have been about sacrifice, but they scrapped that for a happier ending.

Completely agree that theaters need more premium screens. For those who have large TVs and surround sound systems at home, a premium screen is the only upgrade to the movie experience….otherwise anyone can wait to stream
Except the stream is much lower bitrates so won't look or sound as good.
@@miz4535 streams unless your internet is slow are not bad, the method of compression they use is good, hevc is better than H264, and a 4k netflix stream could be comoparable to 1080p blu ray a 18 4k mbps hevc is like 30+ H264. If you put a blu ray on a theater or an stream video you would know, theaters use other method but still compress. PLUS NO EXCUSES FOR THEATERS TO NOT MAKE MORE PREMIUM SCREENS.
audio is much more compressed also. I'm comparing to what cinemas use which are like 200GB files
Bruh John Wick is a must watch for theaters. I would think it would score higher with black audience since it is action packed.

Shazam's mistake is connecting the Universe to the Justice League. Shazam should be a stand-alone movie like the Joker and Robert Pattinson's The Batman.

Originally it was in its own universe and more popular than Superman. After successfully suing them, DC then stole their bald guy villain to be Lex Luthor, made Superman able to fly and then bought everything else from Shazam! It's too bad it couldn't be from a third comic book company, but I guess Archie Comics didn't want them.

@@Igivegdparent nope, the flash movie is the starting point of the James Gunn new era of DCEU, because this will reset everything, and erasing the old DCEU. This is why it’s very odd for the flash movie to go on theaters first before aquaman 2 and blue Beetle.

What a month we just had. Haven’t seen anything like it in a long time, and the movies have been pretty good too.

Let the talented directors do theyre own thing I think. These superhero franchises seem to cause career failure if they don’t pan out how the fans want. Plus they don’t get a creative vision they’re just told what to do by the executives.

Just saw JW4, went with my brother & his girlfriend (2/3 women). And most surprisingly there was a woman in there alone watching.
Going to see it again with my boyfriend this week!
JW cahp 4 was SO damn good. the paris let alone the top down dragon fire bullets scene was just like amazing, i felt like i was playing a video game.

Got a chance to watch Scream and I have to say it was fun. That opening 20 minutes were damn near perfection. As the movie went along the dialogue got cheesier, but other than that it was fun.
John Wick 4 does not come out here in Japan until September. SEPTEMEBR! Japan really love Keanu and he is often seen in Japan just walking around. I wonder what is releasing so that they are holding off on it
So when Dark Shadows came out... I was in downtown NYC. I think it was Regal theaters? EVERY screen was Dark Shadows. It was a wildy huge theater with all these escalators and upstairs screens! That sound in that theater with the opening Nights in White Satin. It was EPIC. Big screens are great but even greater is big sound. Like Dolby Atmos.

For movies like Jurassic World I like premium screens.
For me a lot of the superhero fatigue with DC is the fact that I don't really feel like investing in the movies when I know they are hitting a reset button going forward. I'd rather watch at home. Marvel is starting to head in that direction I fear, but i still get somewhat excited to go to the theater at least knowing it's supposed to amount to something.
OMG the top 10 still only grossed $112M with John Wick opening to $73M. We are looking at a sub $100M top 10 next week unless D&G seriously overperforms. 😮

Emasculation in D&D? Whatever. I saw it with a full house, roughly 50/50 male and female, and everyone cheered at points during the movies and clapped at the end.
I was debating whether to see D&D or Mario in VIP, but decided that D&D was the better option. So that's what I'll be seeing this weekend.
I have enjoyed watching movies 65, Shazam 2 and Dungeon and Dragon and John Wick 4 all different movie worth my money and time and which I will see again before they finish.
Going to see John Wick tonight, don't have premium screens here so just the main screen of our small two screen cinema.

This stuff isn't really complicated i dont understand how these big corps dont understand it. They are making movies for C list characters whose comics never sold and wonder why the movies do poor. Like, are we really confused here? DC fans like the big 3, with batman, then superman, then wonder woman in selling order. Marvel fans like OG avengers (thor, iron man, cap, spiderman etc) Everyone else has always been sub par selling filler.

Premium screens make a massive difference post Covid. Theaters absolutely need more than 1 version of each premium screen. That’s the name of the game today.

Are men really been imagining that Hollywood has been emasculating the male leads? I don't think so, top gun and john wick are doing well because of strong male leads and I hope we get more movies like this
The whole 2010s were lead and dominated by male lead movies. All it took was a underwhelming year or two for men to feel attacked. If that isn't masculine fragility, I don't know what is.
The problem is statements like in the article Grace showed. Journalists asking divisive/leading questions & talent in front/behind the camera not being prepped to avoid those questions. Also the amount of reboots that change from a male lead to a female lead for no reason. If people like a property they have their reasons & when you start changing things you are going to upset &/or lose some people who don't like the changes.

I like Shazam 2 but I don’t need to see it again at the cinema. Those early marvel films I ought have seen 2-3 times but since end game none of them have got me back for a second watch.
Not sure where you got that info on Chad confirming it’s 100% done , when I have seen no definitive confirmation from Reeves or chad it’s completely over , either of them won’t even confirm he is truly dead in interviews , everything I’ve seen is the franchise and the team need a break for awhile , and reeves has said himself he would be open to do more if the fans want it down the road , now of course they could never go back to John wick but I believe the end was setup so if they want to come back one more time they can but if they get to busy or if doesn’t feel right to do a 5th the 4th ends on a note we’ll suited to end there .

Early demos heavily skew male but I think that'll lessen over time as more and more women are brought out to see it.

A lot of people, especially women, didn't know it was a three-hour movie. That might make less women inclined to go for next week's showings. But someone said they don't do demographics for second weekends.
It's amazing how after the lousy Phase 4 and an even lousier start of Phase 5 with the Ant-Man movie, Marvel needs to have its own Ezra Miller with this Jonathan Major case. Its main villain for at least Phase 5 if not all the way to Phase 6? Talking about making a complete fool of oneself and the entire MCU. But hey, let's see what happens next. If he's innocent, hope he'll get out of this mess ASAP because it doesn't look good. Look forward to the live stream tomorrow.
Often crowds of people do not know what's best. But with movies they seem to. They will help these Studios and directors figure out what crowds want. I don't believe there is superhero fatigue I believe they are just bad movies. The studios can't seem to figure it out but the crowds will help them by not showing up.

Sigh. Hollywood needs to stop insulting it's audience. Proclaiming you "emasculated" your male characters might get you claps in Hollywood and with blue haired writers in the entertainment press but it's not an inviting promotion to your audience. I hope whatever virtue points they get off those comments will be worth the audience they let slip into John Wick 4.
