Love it when we shopped there!! They have Iowa based beef jerky!! We live not far from where it is made!! Loved the look on the cashers face when we told her we live close to the factory..

WE shopped at The Three Bears store near Eagle River in 2019 while visiting granddaughter. Probably that same store!
It's bizarre how I live on the southside near Dimond and our Fred Meyers and Walmart have tons of empty shelves and the price of meat is getting ridiculous and yet just 30 minutes from us is Three Bears in Chugiak and the shelves were pretty full and the price of meat was good. What the heck is going on? I am definitely going to head out there asap. It's totally worth the gas to actually get what I need instead of going five minutes down the road to have most of what I want out of stock. Thank you for this video, I always though Three Bears was only out in the valley and had no idea it was so close. ❤️

Loved the store, which they had something like this in the states.
Thanks for taking us along, that can of corn was very big, we would get that big a can at Costco, we would use at church suppers or seniors luncheons.

Love your shopping trips. I never realized how much more expensive things are in Alaska. Generally things were a good 15-20% higher than they are here in Maryland. Our prices are going up and up… but wow, yours were way more. 😔🥰 Also, I LOVE that you share what you spent. So many people do these hauls then hide what they spent. I’m like, why is this a secret? You’re doing a grocery haul!

Nice store.. I chuckled when we walked past the potting soil mix, just cause being in Canada and I bought three of those big cubes of soil last week to start our garden starts for the year

I’m from California and Shasta cola is what a lot of us drank growing up. Much better than name brand.

That was a really nice place to shop, the different varieties and sizes was definitely impressive. I love the Costco shopping trips, but I also love the smaller places especially when they have home grown and locally made. 💞

Shasta has been around since the 30’s when they came out with Ginger Ale!!! Honestly love their ginger ale and coke better than most name brands. Just hard to find near me. I also have been looking on Amazon for Alaskan Products like coffee ect.
I wish we had a store like this on Kauai. Bulk is good on some items but this store is great for non bulk items. Thank you for the tour. Aloha!

I’m in DFW area and our prices aren’t that far off. It’s been crazy to watch a single 15oz can of corn go up by 30-40 cents over the last decade. If you’re lucky you can find a generic or store brand for about .75-.85 cents. Del monte runs about .95 on sale to $1.25 regular. The organic will easily cost $1.60 a can. Love seeing your store, kinda reminds me of Winco

We shop at 3 bears since it’s minutes from our home, but I still shop at Costco for my bigger monthly stock ups. 3 bears prices are definitely on the higher end! 🌺 Jen

What a wonderful local store. Your prices are so much more expensive for things. Then my area but we are in Butler PA. If I can ask what kind of meat is in your stores. I know you eat a lot of moose meat which I believe you hunt. Can you buy it and we have a lot of beef chicken pork.

I support local businesses and it is becoming more challenging. So it would be nice if you did a video where you did all of your shopping starting at this store or a more local store first and when you couldn't get what you needed at that store then you went to the next, less local store and so on. Eventuality you would get to the least local store in your area which could be Costco or Meijer.
Fun idea! I love shopping local but it also can get really expensive to do it all the time since we go through so much food around here. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate hearing from all of you!

I would be like a kid in a candy store in there! Lots of very unique items - surprised how low the meat prices were - very comparable (or cheaper) than here in Winnipeg CAN
Classic Alaskan store. You can buy a rotisserie chicken, a stick of deodorant, and an AR-15 and trapping supplies all on the same trip 😂.

Reminds me for your neighbors to your South east in the Yukon , Superstores In northern BC and the Yukon are similar to three bears.
I liked the store but i noticed a lot of stuff is a lot more expensive than costco. I dont think Everett would like it ( no samples) haha. Maybe it would benefit you to buy extra alaskan grown carrots, wash , slice and blanch them and freeze them, i freeze a lot of fresh vegetables and they still taste amazing. Thank you for sharing the video

@@ThisAlaskaLife in our stores except maybe one or two Walmart super centers you would never find fishing/camping, gun stuff other than maybe a BB gun. You would have to go to a specialty store. Our grocery stores are very basic, I wish we had something like that it’s convenient. We get no snow here, it’s extremely hot so most places sell fans, maybe that’s unusual compared to your area, oh and bathing suits pretty much year round 😂😂. I literally own maybe one sweater and no jacket 😂😂. Your prices are similar to here, most of your things are about $1 more… like cereal, soda etc. One thing we have here that I haven’t noticed that you have/don’t have. Are BOGO’s?? I love the buy one get ones. That’s the time to stock up on cereal, pasta, spaghetti sauce.. so many things. I will continue to watch your videos and any questions about Florida, let me know. The prices weren't too bad for being a local store. We have a store like that. Their meat is really good and yes, you're going to pay more but you pay for convenience.
I was there a couple of weeks ago with my sister and she needed Campbell's tomato soup. A can was $1.99 and she needed two! I about choked! 😜But we had a cart full of meat and some other items so you do what you have to do. I wasn't going to drive miles to a Walmart for two cans of soup! Not with the gas prices these days!

I like seeing the grocery store's as I work in a countdown supermarket here in NZ. Produce Manager so great seeing the products.

3 Bears is like an oasis. We visited the ones in Healy and in Tok, What a comfort to find lots of quality foods at excellent prices.

Loved Three Bears. That’s a store i would use. Just the right size for a family of two. We are members at Sams Club but hardly ever go there, plus it’s an hour away. We have a Super Walmart but we like our hometown Fricks Market. A store where you know the owners personally and the workers. Thkz for sharing the ‘small’ Costco store.

Wow, I wonder if the one in Healy is that well stocked? It may be worth a regular stop, I see so many things I can't get up here in Fairbanks, like the torani and DaVinci syrups, you are lucky if you can get anything other than vanilla. I have to order them and they aren't that cheap.
They had so many syrups! I found them a few years ago and was so happy to not have to order them. Stock up the next time you come through!

Wow, the prices you pay!! I live in the Oklahoma City area, home of Crest Foods, rated the #1 grocery store chain in the U.S. by Consumer Reports. Nine locations, family owned, the lowest prices anywhere. People bring their RVs from around the state and fill them up every 6 months or a year. A spotless store. Occasional random items will have a big .99 cent sticker.

We have 3 bears in Butte Montana. It is the only one in the lower 48.
That's cool. I live in Central Illinois not near a river. I would love a 3 Bears here. We have a Sam's club. But I don't need all the bulk . It is a happy medium. Do they sell local Montana stuff there.

If I still lived there I would definitely be going to 3 bears, I left in 2000 and I was in kenai peninsula.
That’s cool seeing Alaskan grown and Alaskan made stuff. Interesting seeing the prices. Some are comparable to the lower 48 ( I’m on the west coast ) and some are much higher. 🤔🥰

Rotisserie chicken used to be $5.99 here in California, now it's $6.99. So $7.99 is not a bad price, I'm sure we'll get to that price soon.
It was $5.99 here two years ago. Now it's $9.99.

3 Bears is a real neat store. Do they have a Bakery? Just wonder if they sell local breads and Pastry. This would be a perfect place for me to shop. That spice section blew me away. I usually go to my natural food store, I can buy what I need, Except salt, pepper, garlic powder. But I do love going through Costco with you. And someone else said, Everett would not be able to get snacks. But maybe they have snacks on Saturday's, who knows. I saw on line they have a European Market in Fairbanks. Looks like they have a Cafe too. I would love to see the Polish Food, looks like they make pierogi. Also I would like to see a local Bakery, I would love to see breads, pastry, coffee cakes. Also a locally owned Deli, someone that might ship the bear, moose, deer meat. Thanks for taking us along. I really love buying local produce too. It tastes so good.

Good coverage on Three Bears. Here (NE Ohio) we don't live close to any bulk stores. Wish we had a store like this close. I did notice the snow shovel was same price I paid at my local grocery store two weeks ago. Otherwise things are higher a little higher than here in Ohio. Blessings to you and your family 🙏
