Always an unstoppable force for uniqueness amid a sea of generic swill, OPETH has been setting the rulebook ablaze, and ploughing a uniquely progressive and exploratory furrow for over 25 years now. Neither conforming nor exhibiting any desire to be restricted to a single genre, OPETH, quite simply, has a time honored tradition of blowing our minds with both class and forward thinking. All these years later, nothing and everything has changed once again with their most recent album, Sorceress.
Sorceress was released in September 2016. For the band's first effort for Nuclear Blast via OPETH's imprint label Moderbolaget Records, the group returned to Rockfield Studios in Wales, also home to pivotal releases from QUEEN, RUSH and JUDAS PRIEST, where the Swedes had tracked Pale Communion in 2014 with Tom Dalgety.
I'm an old school female headbanger but I notice when I listen to Opeth I SWAY back and forth and you two did the same thing. Thanks for uploading this
finally some Opeth!!!! gotta do some Hessian Peel, Lotus eater, Blackwater Park.....
Blackwater Park! I remember the first time I heard the album, got to that final track and it just blew me away. Went out and got all their albums after that. Nothing beats those riffs for me.
Demon of the fall was my first introduction to Opeth
@@neinstein-says Don't forget Harlequin Forest
@@user-yy7tw9hv9n how could I forget? my second fave after BP. IMO the best track to play to Opeth noobs.
Yeah, Lotus Eater
Opeth, the metal's Pink Floyd
Thank you! Finally Martin Mendez is getting some attention! He's an absolute beast on bass!
Mendez is just silky.
Ghost Reveries has some of the most mesmerizing chord progressions I've ever come across. How it's possible to balance beauty and complexity so perfectly is a divine mystery.
My favorite is Blackwater park , but could recommend Bleak , Harvest, Burden, in my time of need, to bid you farewell, When, Demon of the fall, GOD I love all this ahahahha
Opeth is such an amazing band
and Mikael is a freaking mastermind
the old stuff is really cool and heavy but, i have to admit, since "Heritage" i like the new and "softer" songs more
My dear friend Joakim on keybords...
He's a great singer too.
Great song, this whole album is just a masterpiece front to back
you should listen to "Harlequin Forest" next, but the studio version
You two are so cool thanks 4 all ur hard work
Opeth is a journey everytime. Fantastic song!
The "good old" OPETH !!
Opeth - Master's Apprentices is my number one songs, love the older stuff they have done
Reverie/Harlequin Forest by Opeth is a great one. I prefer it over Ghost of Perdition quite a bit. Opeth is pretty amazing. I tend to like their older stuff more than their new albums (no growling on newer stuff and not as metal)
Harlequin Forest is my favorite song by them. It's not one of their more popular songs. When I saw them live about 7 years ago, they performed it and I cried lol
@@gregstacy4498 - I've been a fan of Opeth for a long time. It is also my favorite song by them.
Harlequin Forest and Blackwater Park my favs by far.
Opeth might be my favorite band of all time, for the last 15 years
The "I LOVE YOU MIKAEL!" at the beginning always gets me lol
Welcome to the world of Opeth. Beware, you may get stuck in this world...
Next :
Opeth - Harlequin Forest live at royal albert
Thx
You didn't stop the video! Y'all just vibin'! Love it!
Check out Mikael in the side project BLOODBATH :) .)
One of 2 of the best bands on the planet right now, other being Dream Theater, Superb Musicianship and song writing.
Opeth - The Grand Conjuration
Now Harlequin Forest has to follow! :D
oppeth blackwater park
Thanks for more Swedish stuff!!
Y'all both rocking and weaving like y'all there lol love it
Gojira- wolf down the earth
Vektor- charging the void
A masterpiece ❤️
Try Harlequin Forest (Live in Royal ALbert Hall)
Proud to be Swedish🇸🇪❤
You guys are awesome! You had asked a question what type of band opens for Opeth. Well, Opeth is one of my all time favorite bands. One of the best shows I've ever seen was 2019? Graveyard opened for Opeth. It was freaking amazing!
BTW, song reaction suggestion: Three - Rabid Animals
Majestic OPETH
Seen these guys a few years ago in Adelaide, so brutal yet also so ethereal and beautiful, was half drunk and felt like I was in a whole different world. \m/
I like you guys !! I have seen some reactions to some of your videos such as Avantasia or Soda Stereo and I like the emotion with which they listen and enjoy the music, just like me ..... greetings from Chile
Opeth rulz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must check out Deliverance. The greatest metal outro ever!
❤️❤️❤️
You need to react to Deliverance......same show......it'll change your life
Best Venue!! Red Rocks Colorado!!!! where I'm From!!
When he said "hunter" it immediately reminded me of christoph waltz in inglorious bastards
I really love "Face of Melinda" by them.
Opeth is a Good band with prog Influence with metal ingrediens, very nice Swedish metal band🤘
For some great dark prog, I'd highly recommend Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize Live in Tilburg. Unbelievable live band.
Or Katatonia - Takeover.
Both of those are awesome +1
Green Carnation
Pretty sure they did it already
Porcupine Tree
Axe on fire 🤘🏼
The singer kinda reminds me of , actor Gary Oldman..😌
MENDEZ🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Time for some Gojira-Pray live at red rocks extended version🤘🙏
Loved the female Wolfhunter. She got it.
MOAR OPETH
Blackwater Park next!
Also, you guys should check out Animals as Leaders!
Come on

FOR MY VALENTINE
Opeth FTW
Wagakki Band - Homura (Live in Japan 2015)
U2 were there on June 5, 1983. Today the biggest band in the world. Did U2 start out as a punk band or a rock band? Anyway, what matters is the feeling of what the band brings across.
React to opeths masters apprentices that song goes harder
I very much prefer the Shepherd's Bush Empire concert. Mikael's harsh vocals were many, many times stronger back then and his cleans were really about as good as now. His growls just seem so grunting and strained when he plays the old stuff now, which they seldom do. Watch Deliverance from Shepherd's Bush Empire and see what I mean. He was a demon in 2003, now sounds like he can barely pull it off.
His cleans in Lamentations is what ruins the concert for me. They sound so weak when you compare them with other live dvds. That's why I like Roundhouse tapes the most, best growls and great cleans too.
2:22 😲
They är prog and metal att THE same Times, great 🤘❤️
Opeth - Windowpane.
HARLEQUIN FOREST LIVE!!!!
Its like mixing Pink Floyd with death metal
Do you know Gojira? The Heaviest Matter of the universe? indeed.. the song is the heaviest matter of the universe
or next: Ame Lee - Speak to Me
Personally I find it hard to categories Opeth. I guess it depends on the album. One thing everyone, even those whom don't really care for them, they do a great job live.
Next, "VARG - fara til ranar" please
GUYS SAME SONG BUT OFF THE ROUNDHOUSE TAPES !!!!!!!!
Try reacting to Within Destruction - Human Defect, Thank you
The true measure of music. Were you really moved? I think they were.
REACT - Wagakki Band - Homura/Akatsuki no Ito (Live in Japan 2015)
Next please: Rammstein-Tier live aus Berlin 1998.
Waiting on these guys to react to buck dich!
Wildways "Lost"
Annisokay "STFU"
Annisokay "Like A Parasite"
Annisokay "Bonfire Of The Millennials"
Imminence "Paralyzed"
pls xD
Opeth is so good I give them a pass on the death vocals. Their concept video for The Devil's Orchard would be great at Halloween.
Can u guys react to Kaleo - Break my baby
React to A Fair Judgement
Can’t believe you guys have never heard of opeth .. 😂😂😂😂
Paleface-curse us
My friend was at this show....I hate him now
The good reaction! Please! React The band "Black veil brides". The song "In the end"!!!
Opeth is amazing, but sadly it was around this album that they started to drift away from their death origins, abeit slowly.
I like Axel but I still think it doesn't sound right without Lopez.
Seem you guys not progresive rock lovers 😁
You should react to spit out the bone by Metallica live version
Drugs?
Gojira were way better at Red Rocks.
you were not expecting a melodic song,i was not expecting u guys constantly stoping the video to speak your bullshit...so....lets call it even...:) maybe leave that to the end of the video? just a suggestion.....
