  • Chinon Castle, France www.medieval-c.... Medieval fortress and royal palace of the Angevin dynasty where King Henry II died in July 1189, being buried nearby at Fontevraud Abbey. Joan of Arc first met the Dauphin Charles VII at Chinon, Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard The Lionheart also spent time here, both later being buried alongside Henry II at Fontevraud. Richard spent time a lot of time in France and lay siege to many castles. At Beynac in the Dordogne you can see a room where he stayed • Chateau Beynac Keep Up...

    Very nice views of Chinon and nice to see the titles with the various towers and portions. There could have been a little more of the abbey but I enjoyed the presentation. If you need a host for the castle presentations let me know. I can be found if you try. : )
