I love how in "my goodbye" she says "you're not looking for a mentor, I'm not looking for a friend" then later, when she's talking to ares, she says "hold your tongue now, his son's my friend" 😂😂 like damn. Ody wasn't good enough
For the longest time I thought she said _"hold your tongue, he's still my friend"_ and while I would have loved that take as well, that despite them parting ways she still considered Ody her friend (despite alsways saying they aren't friends), I do enjoy the way she evolved and now actually accepts it being a friend to a human.
She also literally starts God Games by telling Zeus she "hopes to save the friendship of one who's a prisoner far from home: Odysseus". We'll Be Fine literally starts with her saying to Telemachus "I had a friend before", telling him about Odysseus without revealing it's his own father. They're both her friends
Her voice is so amazing and powerful. I'm so obsessed with this musical (as a die-hard Greek mythology nerd myself); I cannot wait for the next album release.
The moment I heard Teagan sing I thought she was perfect for Athena. I’ve listened to several covers and none of them compare. Teagan’s voice has such assertiveness, it just gives me chills.
Just discovered this musical through my fiancee! Warrior of the Mind is my fave song so far. one of my favorite lil tidbits is that Athena holds out the word "Mind" the first two times she sings it; the third, she still holds it, but Odysseus joins her with a moving harmony. The fourth time, she mimics his movement, and the fifth time, when she's singing alone again, she still does the moving part. Seems like a hint of his influence on her!
YES! And in my goodbye, the last few lines of “this is my goodbye” she also sings in this melody, except the first time she sings it like when she’s singing Warrior of the Mind with Odysseus, and the second time she sings it like how she sang it alone where she lets the note end high, signifying the official break in their relationship
I love her voice! I think she’s perfect for Athena. I also love that every time we get one of these videos, everyone else is jumping up and down and vibing to the song😂 Keep up the great work you guys
Teagan Earley’s performance as Athena is INCREDIBLE and a big part of what makes Epic Athena such a compelling character to me (of course the writing also plays a huge role). I’ll definitely have to check out her solo music.
Coming back after Wisdom Saga, and finally hearing more of the context behind what she's talking about here, I can say she absolutely nailed it! Her Athena feels so complex yet so whole
I love Athena in Epic. I love the voice, I love the Character and the songs with Athena in it are my top favorit of Epic so far! Thanks for the great work, the awesome music and the whole journey
I loved Warrior of the Mind! Athena sounds so powerful. You've nailed these characters. When Athena says, "Well done, enlighten me, what's your name?" I always heard it as Well done, you lied to me, what's your name?" and I like it better that way.
I love this, I love hearing/seeing about the process and the behind the scenes of EPIC. Honestly, it helps me be more patient for the saga releases, so, thanks 😊
been obsessed with greek mythology since in was 12. Now im 30 and im still just as obsessed. This music has ignited my passion. im even starting to read old classics ive never touched before
Her voice will never not amaze me. I love her as Athena. She’s by far my favorite character in the whole thing. ❤ good thing that Athena has always been my favorite goddess of the Greek mythology anyways :D
Teagan is quite literally the perfect Athena voice. And I love how she understands the mechanics of fitting a whole character arc into voice tonality and all. She is truly an Epic actress and singer.
It’s ambiguous for now, but personally I doubt it. It just seems like having her come back and reunite with Odysseus and Telemachus would be more narratively satisfying. And while Epic: The Musical has taken a lot of creative liberties from the source material that have been wonderful, I find the idea of killing off the goddess Athena a little hard to take seriously.
At the end of the Trojan War if I remember correctly Athena and a number of the other gods abandoned the Greeks and generally punished them because they were burning down religious monuments dedicated to them in Troy. I think Cassandra was related to Athena’s anger though
My daughter always says she sounds exactly how she would imagine how Athena sounds. She did fantastic.
That's exactly it. I can't possibly think of a better fit for Athena.
Oh so true!
@@theOPworldme neither. It's so perfect

In an upcoming song, "God Games" she states that his son is her friend.
Nah it means she learned her lesson

Athena's voice was what drew me to the musical in the first place. That's how well Teagan plays her.
Loving these snipets. When will the next album be released? Can't wait to hear more.
