Excellent video sir, I have seen a lot of videos on climbing stand stuff, I would say by far this is the best one for the beginner to watch and use especially with the ol man stands, nicely done, keep up the great work and have a blessed week.

I recently purchased (used) a Carbon Air Elite climber of similar design. It is AMAZINGLY light, so light that I have to be careful not to kick the front by accident, or it will slip down the tree like you illustrated with the CTS. I am still getting used climbing with it, but I've never had a climber that felt like it was a natural extension of me. Once it is set up, it is comfortable enough to sleep in. I love the net seat.
this vid is a great refresher for any hunter that uses any climbing tree stand especially a ol'Man, thanks a lot brother.
Great video Toby. Had 2 O'l Man steel climbers that I used for nearly 20 years before they were stolen off our hunting lease. Loved them, although my hunting buddies commented on their weight until they had a chance to hunt out of them. Just purchased an O'l Man Alumalite CTS, can't wait to use it. Really liked the double safety straps from climber to platform. Appreciate your time in producing this very informative video.
Still using your CTS?
Good demo man. I'm thinking about another climbing stand; and Old man may just be my next one. You convinced me.
Great Video man.. I'm a larger guy at 6'4 and 250lds. I was using stick ladders and it was just killing me to get into my stand. Been looking at climbers and this video made my mind up.. Thanks again!
Great video for instruction on how to use a climbing tree stand. I've always used ladder stands, so this is great.
Awesome Video. I have been hunting for 44 yrs, Good Job. Thanks .
It's nice to see the guy from Smashmouth keeping himself busy.
Honestly best explanation of climbing I've ever seen.
I would definitely recommend the Ol'Man Roost for a hang-on stand or the 15' Bowlite ladder stand by Ol'Man. We just did a video review on the Bowlite. Make sure you check it out!
I been using a old man grand version sense 1997 if you’re a bow hunter it’s the best advantage you can get if you take your time and learn how to use it it’s safe quite quick and simple to use. My stand wait is 19 pound soaking wet. Plus it makes a awesome back pack to carry your gear.
Thanks for video. I just purchased one of these and will be using for first time in a week. I've used climbers before, but not an old man

It's a good product. I spent 10 hours in that stand yesterday.
great instructions and review. One of your best yet!!
Great video. Thanks for all the help on the stand.
just got one and cant wait to use it. thanks for the video!
This lightweight tubing idea with arms that fold up, your D & T guy's would have to put together a tree climb that doubles as a game tote, a 20" aluminum wheel and a quick release axil. One man could wheel out his white tail buck in one go. I love what you blokes do in the states, we need these products in Oz.Cheers.
Those shoes man... what a statement of 2012 😂
I like this tree stand and am wondering both how much does it cost and how much does it weight to carry I also use a small back pack to carry things like my calls and light pull on jammies ect. Will it work?
Excellent tutorial… hunted an ole’ man abt 15 years before being transferred to city. If you practice you can enter and leave without a sound. If memory serves me tape was applied to several contact points when folded to reduce noise. While climbing and descending trees with effort and practice the sound will be very similar to a raccoon. Several issues happened over the years but safety devices built into the ole’ man system allowed easy recovery. The stand embraces you with the swing arms if you slouch into the seat. I have taken many naps in this tree stand. I will be buying an ole’ man to replace the city recommended summit. The summit has been used twice and failed me both times, make a ton of noise and very cumbersome… ugh!!!
Love mine, just took some getting used to after using my summit
up at my grandparents i would like to use one of these but the probleme is there arnt any trees that go upt to15-20 feet with out branches up to that height so every 3 feet i would have to undo it and set it up above those branches so i was wondering would you recomend a hangon stand or a ladder stand?
Very good demonstration. Thanks
Nice harness.... probably should use it bud!
Awesome review! Thank you for sharing.
Does the bar on either side of your waist get in the way if your shooting a compound bow from a seated position ? Thanks
Great video. I think I'll give one of these a try
the only thing i dont like about this tree stand is when your wearing it how far the foot stand sticks out the back when im hunting in Main or New Hampshire there is a ton or shit around and it seems like it could make some noice brushing on stuff i wish it could turn around so it would be facing my chest and hanging over the top of my shoulders but i think this is the one im getting
is he using the standard cts or the grand ?
I own 3 Ol'man stands 2 of the old green style . I love them up can climb anything with it.
I bought on of these last year the teeth will not bite the tree and the cables have a rubber coating
when climbing they hand the tree and do not want to slid up the tree. I would not have another one if they gave it to me.
Where do I get one
Sou de Portugal como consigo comprar um aparelho desses e quanto custa?
awesome review i am now buying one... also awesome jeep
Wow thank you.. Cant tell you how may things I have been doing wrong with my ol man that I bought from a friend... Didnt come with instructions..
quero comprar um desse
Great video.
EXCELLENT tutorial
Tem à pronta entrega para o Brasil? Contato eletrônico?
I use this one now but I like the older version were you just flip the cables around to go from gun to foot rest dont like the detachable rest .
Have you found a workaround for this??
I can't decide to get this or the summit 180 max. Any thoughts?
Summit. 6 years later
Boa tarde
Onde adquirir igual a esse e que possa ser enviado para Brasil ?
GRATIDÃO !!!
I like to keep as many braches on the tree as I can the only branches I cut off are to make shooting lanes
it helps if tye off your hunter safty system
My left ear appreciated this. My right ear not so much.
Saludos de Perú y gracias.
really good video man
that is the coolest thing i have seen
I love mine, excellent stand
Interessa vocês vendem para o Brasil
Wish you had shown hunters to use saftey vest
Man I really enjoyed the first 30 seconds of logos I had to watch! That was fun! Exactly what I came for!......
This is a great product.
Great detailed climbing explanation! You can tell you know your stuff regarding climbing stands (other than not clipping in to your harness but still).
And I never realized to step through the front of the net seat and use it to sit and climb! Duh! I have a Muddy Stalker with the same seat. I was doing it by suspending my body weight on locked arms (think top position of a dip when you workout). Luckily I'm in shape but that way is obviously easier lol. Thanks
Buck McAntlerson u sit on the rail on the muddy stalker
Even teaching others. You must wear your safety harness when you do so. That's why they call them accidents.
Good if not great info on the stand, but why wear the harness if you aren't going to use it?
It was just as a safety precaution & we encourage everyone to wear a safety harness! This video can just easily demonstrate how light-weight the harness is & it won't get in your way when using a climbing treestand.
CoastalBackWoomuito útil
Here. Let me wear the safety harness but not use it. Kids, don’t climb like this guy. Always make sure you are tethered to the tree. SMH
Dont know if this stand in your video is steel?? I found a steel one (looks identical and only 4 pounds heaver than the aluminum) and have it on the way. Think that I will do a little camo paint job on mine :) Nice video.
+Jim Underwood The alumalite cts in the video is made of aluminum.
Audio not working ?
Good, I am interested
Very good!
You are muy Idol congratulations amigo from Chiapas mexico
make more on tree stands
We got 2 of them never got the big straps on the sides and never got the harness so look out.
Good ilustration
That looks like the Drone model are you sure its a CTS?
Sold
Bro.. How much kg are you?
i like to put the top one on the other side of the tree it is easy to twist it 180 degree's to the foot platform.. i hate haven all the stuff in the way for me it better that way ..
Ol'Man makes great stands! They also make a seat cushion, maybe you could check that out -- We have them on our website. Just a suggestion :)
The original Ol' Man stands were great stands, comfortable, QUIET, and stable. The new ol' man's are are a joke, I've got one I'll sell you, and hang on to 5 Ol' Man Grands. The new ones have been garbage since the law suit took Ol' Man out, 10 to 1 a liberal judge, just like the McDonald's coffee law suit. Let me know if you want the cts alumalite. $350 stand for $100
Really, shoes with toes? You actually walked outside with those ?
Also great use of the harness
New to the climber world and put it to use this hunting season. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxlQ7TDIrnnSXXbRgFFaxqwullRJJIuYAs I felt safe while climbing up and down a tree. It did take some time getting used to climbing and descending the tree. Once I figured it out I was comfortable going in climbing a tree knowing I was going to be up a tree quickly and most importantly quite not scaring every deer out of my area. I am 6’2” and 240 lbs, fit and comfort were great. I bow hunt and found no issues hunting from it. It is a little bulky to carry in and out of the woods vs some of the smaller open front climbers but I thought it was worth the bulk/weight due to ease of climbing (using the rail to sit on) and comfort for long sits.
Just seems a little bulky and to many moving parts! Couldnt imagine setting this up in the dark trying to find a whole for a pin only to find that the tree has tapered too much on the way up and having to reset it. I'll stick with my 'Lonewolf'. 1 strap and climb!
awesome video!! just moved getting into bowhunting this up
comming season... was kinda worried as i am a big guy also! thank u, u made it look easy
Good. But try it with Boots and winter clothing. I prefer to stand and climb
I think this video showed me why I shouldnt get it lol i cant stand the trees in louisiana. All of them are huge at the base an get super skinny at the top. Too much adjusting for me. Think ill stick with the lock/hang on
Where's his harness around the tree
um dece aqui no brasil custa 4000. mil reais
I bought a stand with that nylon seat webbing once, that was the most uncomfortable tree stand that I ever used. I like the roominess of this stand, but would never buy it for the seat.
IMO you should be connected to the tree at all times. Every year I read about someone falling from a tree and getting seriously hurt or killed. It really doesn’t take much more time or effort to stay tied in. No reason not to.
I like it.
Where’s your safety harness?
great
If you notice he is wearing a harness but not attached. Why?
+RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 because he only went 5 ft up
From time you leave the ground until you reach the ground is what I was told.
cool
Somebody call OSHA! 😂 Somebody get this man a harness for Christmas!
You want me to talk on camera for twenty minutes about your product? Okay, wait a minute, let me get a big ol' wad of gum in my mouth, first.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
good video and all but you definitely need to be connected to tree all the way up and need to teach it that way too
não tou entendo nada que esse cara fala
Sorry about the spelling but you get the point.
I've learned to bow hunt from the ground .
For the most part this video looks very well produced but the whole time you were in the tree WITHOUT your safety harness connected to the tree, had me cringing! You did a great job but for a brand new hunter such as myself to see this safety flop all I can say is I'm very grateful that you didn't fall and for the Love of God were the harness next time!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😀😃😄
Metal doesn't leave scent
👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😀😃😄
Perfect, for your zombie apocalypse survival kit.
👏👏👍👍☝️🇧🇷
Wow what a cool safety harness!, doesn't even need to be connected to anything so when you fall off of the tree stand up about 35 feet the imaginary lanyard will stop your fall NOT!. F for FAILURE!
Martin's Tree Works thats only abt 15 ft
Coconut oil
Ok I bought this stand after using the original steel ol man stand. I see why you're wearing those sock shoes because it's hell trying to slide your hunting boot in. The original ol man stand has a strap you can pull up on to slide your feet in. Second, the straps you have are not put on correctly. You shouldn't have to slide the safety strap up to buckle it. It should be laced into the slot. People that have the original stand know what I'm talking about. I'm really not happy with this new stand. They should of copied the old style and just made it aluminun
Soo tempted to poke fun at his shoes. But i wont
