Don’t like the way these birds are crowded in at all.

Violette Newman Quail live together in what are known as cuveys can be up to 25 or 30 some, birds in the wild the way he has them caged is perfect they cannot be in a taller pin or they will injure themselves maybe even kill themselves trying to fly they like to be with their kind it's how they survive in the wild no matter how many years they're raised in captivity they keep these traits please educate yourself on keeping something before you knock the way someone else is keeping their stock

Ted hawk. As usual with UA-cam police, you didn’t question what I meant & just sounded off your opinion. Perhaps ask questions sometime. I am still entitled to my opinion, but it has no bearing on your comment.

For anyone else who feels qualified to have a bash at me, let me just say that I watch Dexter every day. I love his videos. He comes over as a really nice guy & if I could be his next door neighbour I would be really chuffed. Now, go off & have a go at another person & leave me be.

I've got 7 dozen eggs in my incubator now. I plan on having 2 separate cages for breeders(fertile eggs) and extra hens( infertile eggs for eating). I have no interest in raising them for money but for food. All the extra males will be dinner, once we have culled all older roos and replaced them. Ive been told that males need to be replaced every 10 months and hens each year to keep high fertility. I adore pickled quail eggs.

Beautiful birds Dexter. They are hot and a bit stressed. We raised quail as well. I would say a 100 birds pre cage is better for them. Other than looking hot and stressed cuz they are not use to camera. They are beautiful layers.

You must get auto fill drinkers with that number of quail. It will save you alot of time and help reduce the panting seen in the video from high heat and not enough water to access per bird. By having piped nipple drinkers you will have happy easy times ahead. Just disinfect drinker system reguarly. Good luck my friend.

Very nice setup brother Dexter as are all your stock, are those cortnix Quail their eggs look like cortnix quail, I used to have cortnix quail and red golden and yellow golden pheasants and Lady Amherst pheasants, I understand what you mean about proper nutritional value very difficult to make people understand their chicken food is not good enough for these birds they need a much higher protein content than laying hens until next time may God keep you and bless your family and business,ps, was that a red jungle fowl chicken running loose when you had to catch the quail?
