  • Just doing a set up on my new Kramer guitar. The Floyd Rose Tremolo is set with high action and 10 gauge strings with dull frets. Here I show how to deal with a set up you dont want and quickly shine up the frets.

Ya, how about those new Kramer Satchell leopard style painted models? That purple one is really cool. I think the yellow one is cool as well. Im thinking those wont be as affordable as this tiger model, but well see. Im getting more interested in these types of paint jobs. Thx for the comment dude, Keep your guitar faith and keep rocking!

I bought a Kramer Pacer Imperial 1983 reissue from Gibson USA back in 2011
Schaller hardware and FR. but I have to take the neck off to do a truss rod adjustment.,
which is a major ball ache.. Are these pacers the same ???

teh easiest and quickest way is to block the trem from detuning and strech your strings. once done you can then lock it on the nut, take off the block and adjust your springs. way easier.

You are not suppose to have strings on when adjusting height it wrecks the Knife Edges on the trem from what I am told which will make tuning a pain the butt later.

Hello, this is true, no disputing that at all. In the video, im offering an alternative way of adjusting the action with very low tension on three strings, holding the FR trem in place while simultaneously being able to actually see the string height when adjusting it and not compromising or damaging any mechanical moving parts. Its really up to you to do it the way you prefer, and not my method. Thanks for watching and comment!

I just got the pacer vintage in emerald green. Same issue with the setup. was setup way too sharp and floyd was upward.. posts were all the way up as well. When I retunned to standard, I had to readjust the claw screws.
I dont why they set it up like that at all? Also, the frets were dull like your were and the back of the neck was a bit gritty.
I used #00000 strength steel wool and worked great.
The block on the floyd was very small. Will either get a thicker one or a german floyd.. not sure yet.
One more thing, do you find your tone from the guitar a bit bright? I find it has a lack of warmth to it. PU's along with the wood combination may be the reason?

Hello, perhaps Kramer isnt paying the Korean factory for setting up the guitars there. Ive seen them shipped to Kramer on their facebook page to the USA. Maybe those QC people at Kramer should set them up and clean them there, but they are not doing so. Just a guess. I like those sparkle ones myself, but I have this one, so I havent bought one. I believe the fret material and the JB bridge pup is giving the guitar some brightness to it but I do not believe in the wood affecting the tone of an amplified electric guitar. See my vid comparing my USA Charvel San Dimas with Alder body to this axe with maple body. They both sound just about the same.
      Thanx for watching.

+cryptonet007 I will check it out. When I ran through my digital setup, it sounded attrocious. When I ran it through my 5153 50 watt today, it sounded pretty damm good, so Im happy with it. lol
Agree on the setup thing.. seems as if they are definitely not caring too much about setting them up overseas. All in all, not a bad guitar, just a floyd upgrade at this point and Im good to go. Thanks for you video on it !!!

How come the back fretboard neck doesnt have the classic "skunk stripe" running down the neck like the old Krammers did back in the 80s?
Ive seen a video of Satchel holding his and his has this skunk stripe.

    • @cryptonet007
      @cryptonet007  3 роки тому +1

They installed the truss rod on the necks from the surface of the neck then put the fretboard over the top. I dont know why they did it that way. The other way with the skunk stripe is made differently. Its one piece of wood and its routed out on the back for the truss rod. I dont know what process is easier to manufacture, but I suspect that these vintage series guitars are built either easier or cheaper to build. The quality is ok on these necks/fretboard but I would prefer Jumbo frets instead of the medium fret wire they used.
