Sure does! Something an aware, alert, chaste catholic single has been screaming for decades ...and the damn "smart" tech has ushered these plandemics which they are. This gap in boys and girls reading is different in our homeschool community. This does indicate that it’s something to do with education. Two of my sons read non stop. I have to tell them to put the book down. The boys at their homeschool group trade off books they are reading. Boys play tackle football and dodgeball at recess (which is 1 hour long) and PE (another 45 minutes) I was a teacher. #1 problem with public school- it’s designed around the adults, not the kids.
@@carolynm8350seems like that's becoming a common occurrence- public school teachers deciding to homeschool their own children. Speaks volumes, in my opinion.
This podcast affirmed my husband and my choice to homeschool our kids, not purchase phones, not allow video game consuls, and have our boys involved in sports, music lessons, and plenty of family time. I worry so much about my parenting all of the time, but this made me feel like I was doing most things right. Thank you, Lila and Dr. Sax!
People like you only look at the negatives of video games, yet video games actually have proven health benefits, both mentally and a bit physically. Obviously if you overdo it it's bad just like with literally anything. With kids you just have to set reasonable time limits, maybe put parental controls, etc. E-sports is a thing, where people compete on a professional level in video games like people do sports. There a problem with that to you?
@@DetonatorCallan I've known way too many people who allow video games to consume their lives, and as a parent, I don't want to have to constantly fight with my kids about it and try to monitor their behavior. They haven't complained so far b/c they have a lot of other fun things to do!
All my mania & severe clinical depression healed when I cut out processed "foods" and drugs/💉 from my diet altogether. The health of the brain is a direct reflection of gut/bodily health.
The Catholic Church kept me from destruction. I know exactly where I would have been without it. I was a lost boy, the good Priests kept me on a practical path.
My demons tried to get me to stay Catholic but I broke away and I’m saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. My uncle was a high-ranking priest (very right Reverend Monsignor) so been there!
I have twin 12 year old boys and motivating them to care about school is unbelievably difficult. Thank you for this video. The battle over video games is relentless. They don't have phones and won't as long as we can hold out. Schools and sports make it very difficult to function without phones.
@@JS-sv4ol totally capable and fine. We can ALL wait until we're home to use the internet, period. This "smart" tech, as I hypothesized when it first came out, a HUGE plandemic. I wasn't wrong. It's sad. Very sad.
None of my kids got a cellphone until they started high school. Hang in there, mom. My oldest hated school since Kindergarten. For years I told him, “You have many years of school ahead of you. You will need to find at least one thing you like about school, even if it’s only recess.” He begrudgingly took my advice. School was a struggle and he has a 504 plan. He blossomed in high school both academically and socially. He started at a community college and did 3 semesters. He failed horribly. Now he’s attending a small private college and he’s studying digital art and animation. He absolutely loves it because he found his niche along with a consistent daily class schedule.
I am blessed. It's a lot easier for a boy to become a man out where I live. I live in a rural environment where everything is not so sanitized as the suburbs. There are more opportunities to actually engage in real physical struggles that force you to grow up and stop being a sissy, whether it's hunting or dealing with snakes or running a ranch or machining or something. I feel bad for the white-collar suburban boys who can't do anything real so they have to recreate it all with video games. Video games are fun but not a replacement for real adventures. And it's not like
@@viveka2994 I never said they weren't (I play them myself some), but I don't think they're a replacement for real adventures. I think you still need to have real-world struggles in the physical environment.
Holy smokers, sir, you've nailed it. I am an older gal and having experienced a great part of life already, observing decades of life here in North America, I can attest that you are correct. I have had to become more "masculine" if you will, in order to protect myself from men who have become predators (porn influenced), or out of control addicts, or who don't have the confidence to literally strike out on their own. They are perpetual boys and truly, don't want to grow up. Life is *&^% hard dudes, get used to it. What if our country had to go to war - who the hell would be there with boots on the ground?! Everything from poor or destructive parenting (shitty male role models for one reason or another), porn, replacing real life with gaming because they don't know how to handle real life?! 7 minutes in I paused it to ask my 11 year old son if he's currently reading anything. He said "Jurassic Park", and a brief discussion ensued. We don't have a t.v. He doesn't have a smart phone yet (he does have a tablet). I'm 60 years old. I read a lot in the 70s to great benefit throughout life.
I’m really glad that you are covering this vital topic. The fallout from men not growing up and accessing pornography has tragic consequences. I work with online sex offenders, the majority of whom began with an addiction to pornography and an inability to regulate emotion. The police come and they are no longer allowed to have the kind of access to their children that the children need. Men are arrested at a rate of over 1000 per month in the UK. The devastation caused to families across the country is astonishing. When ai speak to the men, they say they first accessed pornography at around 11…but for younger guys, with the advent of smartphones, it could have been age 6. Their sexuality becomes something so tainted that they have to relearn it.
So interesting about the 'violent' writing the boy chose about Stalingrad and being punished for it. My husband had a similar experience in Kindergarten. He was sent to the principal and his parents had to talk with him because the teacher was disturbed that he had been drawing and inventing mazes and convoluted rat traps all in picture style. Today he serves in the military and has a masters in computer science. He especially loves coding and still figuring out complex intellectual problems. It has always been a strength, not a disturbing issue.
As a generation x parent to a nine year old, this video makes me sad in so many ways. I see the coddling of children, villainizing normal play, and muting the competitive boy spirits. Social skills and problem solving are almost nonexistent. A society of medicated, thin skinned adults is what we are creating.
If single motherhood is happening, find great male role models in Grandfathers, coaches, other males in their lives. That means the mother is also involved in those relationships and supervises his interactions with that male. Don’t just turn boys over to untrusted men to raise him. Get involved too. Be a team parent. Have the Son involved in as much physical activity because boys need that more. And no gaming, no phones, an active Youth Group at church, and surround him with positive role models the mother seeks out. There is also the mother’s role to surrender to Christ. She is his first example.
1. Educational system anti-boy establishment and lack of strong brave male examples 2. Video games and their realistic and addictive quality 3. Endocrine dysruptors released into the environment and foods (plastics)
@@katenoke1571kids who are homeschooled are typically very well socialized 😂 Unless they're the type of parents who shackle their kid up to their bed and go to work. Done properly they are socialized much better than the average public schooler.
@@katenoke1571 Ma'am, do you have unbiased research on such a bold claim. Homeschooling is the absolute best thing that could happen to 90% of kids. Kids crave love and attention from their parents. Sending them off to a teacher that is only in their life for a year and takes months to understand their individual learning style is a waste of time. My children are 3 grade levels ahead of state standards. And we only do school for an hour a day. They're in swimming, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, piano lessons, ballet, etc. (they're extremely active and healthy) And have plenty of friends in public school and who are also homeschooled. My aunt has been teaching in the San Diego school district for over 25 years and has a double masters, has many experiences of 2nd graders not being able to read because of lack of involvement from mom and dad. Teachers can only do so much. (That's why kids have so much homework)
Bologna. I was homeschooled and homeschool my kids. They're very social and run out to say hi to the mailman and garbage man whenever they come by our house. I have them in church and in a homeschool group. They also play soccer sometimes etc. you just have to be proactive and get them out to socialize. I'm more social by far than my husband who was in public school as a kid. It's all about how you do it. Also I wouldn't want my kids socializing with a bunch of kids their age who I know nothing about. They need good friends and influences in their lives. Also, since when is school a place being social is allowed? They basically have lunch break and small amounts of time before class starts. . . . Being social in school is discouraged.
Covid is a horrible example of homeschooling. That's not how the typical homeschooler is homeschooled. My stepson did that online garbage and of course their mental health suffered. During covid they had parks and beaches locked down and the kids doing school at home for public schools were on a computer...bad for the brain....
@@melissahale7806 sounds like it's working great for you n most people who can do this. Perhaps 15-20 years ago kids who were homeschooled had more social problems despite excelling academically ( I if course don't know but can sort of imagine) as compared to their public n private school peers bc school itself whether walking to it or taking bus with the neighborhood kids, lunch, recess, gym n even some classes still had a social component and it a great opportunity to know other kids n negotiate conflicts but today it's quite clear that the pros academically even further outweighs the cons academically n even if they gave up something socially ( and that's a big if as many parents make sure they are filling this gap) removing them from this very toxic atmosphere far outweighs and loss. Unfortunately not everyone can do this n I really hope more people will get involved in demanding changes from their public schools starting with the wokeness n the unfit sexual predator teachers ( many females today) that we constantly read about. The schools are failing everyone and it's hard to say it's not deliberate at this point.

Re: medications Our older son is a classic textbook case of ADHD. Vyvanse has been a God send for him. Thankfully he learned a strong work ethic from my husband and I so he’s always been motivated to do well despite his not liking school from Kindergarten up through his Junior year of high school. He also has Epilepsy and takes Kepra. Our other son is on the Spectrum and takes Adderal. He’s in Marching band and also sees a therapist twice a month. The medication is only a part of the entire treatment plan. If parents put their child on a medication and expect the medication to “fix” the child then they’re setting themselves and their child up for a difficult situation. Parents also have to be willing to discipline their kids and not make excuses for them and their behavior/ diagnoses. Sometimes medication is necessary.
You have 2 kids and both are on medication?? If you’re justifying that, it seems like you might not have been listening to at least part of the point or this talk? I do understand that parenting is hard- I have 4. But I agree with this Dr. that drugs are not the best way to go in addressing the problems. And yes, I’m experienced in boys, ADHD, epilepsy, etc etc..
My younger brother has ADHD and epilepsy. He’s been on every stimulate and epilepsy medication out there. He’s now 25 years old. He’s been on the keto diet for about a year now and is completely seizure free! His ADHD symptoms have improved too. My brother has had epilepsy since age 4 and brain surgery which didn’t help at all. The keto diet is the only thing that has completely controlled them. Obviously speak to your son’s neurologist about it but my brother needed an alternative to meds. Epilepsy meds are rough on the body and the organs. Doctors are shocked his kidneys are still healthy. He wishes my parents put him on keto as a child. But yes, sometimes meds are necessary, especially if it’s a safety thing like seizures. And I fully agree that parents need to parent and not rely on the school. I believe parents need to take accountability for finding the right learning/schooling options for their children.
@@SnappypantsdanceI’m totally against ADHD meds. My younger brother has had epilepsy since age 4, was on almost every medication out there and even had brain surgery… he’s 25 and started the keto diet almost a year ago… for the first time in his life is completely seizure free! Good episode. Embracing masculinity in a positive healthy way, must be encourage. I had tough school experiences when I was a boy, and a handful of teachers I had, never had my best interest in heart. I love video games. Also, I thank God there are Christian video game ministries to reach the video game community. God loves them, He cares for them, and He is building bridges. I have my concerns about the over medications. It’s a new addiction, and it must be stop. The Red Pill has become a new gospel, and I don’t like it when some people idolize it. I love Eminem. I am a Puertorican mother of 3, 2 teenage boys and 1, 10 yr old girl, and I will say it has been a roller coaster in my house. My 15 did get his cell at 13, and my kids do have a switch, PC games, wii ect... they do play electronics every day for 1-2 hours, but I will say they are honor students. They have both got the US presidential award in elementary and my 15 the middle school award as well and heading for the high school award and my 13 yrs old is aming for his award for middle school. One thing I have learned is that in order for your boy or girl to do good has to do with parents then school and ur kids surrounding friend. I was a high school drop out and ran the streets until I almost got shot but one thing I remember my parents did not motivated me to do good, they were constantly on the TV, or computer so when I became a mom I became different. My 15 yr plays the saxophone and I was there by his side when he started at 10 yrs old when he did soccer I played and practice with him I was not the sit on ur ass get fat mom. Same with my 12 yr old he is a drummer and I would have him teach me and when he wasn't in his basketball game, I would practice get out there with him we all go for a walk together and talk when we can and most of all we pray for God to give us strength and wisdom. We lived in the hood until the past 2 yr. We bought a house in a quiet wealthy neighborhood and here I realized that nothing is free and kids /boys motivate each other for A's compare to the City. In the city all sports were free since there is government help but I notice a lot of parents are lazy once I spoke with a neighbor and they said man Josh is so freaking smart, I asked don't u read with your son? and they said no I hate reading well u need to be an example for ur kids if not they will be taken away by the world. And at the city Waterbury & Meriden CT to be exact I will be honest u have good but also bad teacher but once again parent stand up and keep an eye on ur kids and be an example for them. SOY is ALSO suppressing the normal male physiology nowadays. I see SOY in EVERYTHING on food labels & it's often the first ingredient listed, meaning it's the most concentrated ingredient. Soy DOESN'T NEED TO BE IN OUR FOODS, & certainly NOT in the huge amounts it's being put into them. I know a man who had difficulty conceiving his & his wife's first child because he was getting WAY too much soy.
So one of my boys struggled in school from the get go. He was a very calm child and showed no signs of ADHD. He struggled for years and we couldn't figure out what the problem was. So by 5 we had him tested by a psychologist and to our surprise he was diagnosed with ADHD. He started on medication and the change was astounding. After a few years he wanted off of it and we have helped him to stay on track in school. But no doubt the meds helped him early on.
My boys have no electronics/computers in their bedroom. Nothing. The phones are taken away after dinner. I find it very naive of parents to trust their kids to be responsible with their time.
Make sure he's loving, caring, kind, and has emotional intelligence. Respectful and not gullible. Every man will tell you he's a good man, just make sure your son goes up to be a good person.

Thank you, Lila, for inviting Dr. Leonard Sax on your program. His thesis is very similar to that of Dr. Richard Reeves, who also talks extensively about how boys are falling behind in so many areas of life, and how this works to detriment of society as a whole. Please invite Dr. Reeves on your program, as he speaks quite eloquently on this topic, and really has a command of the appalling statistics concerning this problem. Its unfortunate that more people are not talking about the decline of male performance in society. I think this is an area that is deliberately ignored by the mainstream, because they believe, erroneously, that to talk about the plight of boys will work to the detriment of girls. In their twisted logic, if boys fall behind, its almost as if it a form of righteous historical retribution for past male chauvinism that caused women to take a subordinate role in the world, since the dawn of civilization. Its really a foolish and unjust idea because 1) The boys of today had nothing to do with what women experienced in the past and 2) A world where boys are not living up to their full potential doesn't only adversely boys, it effects women as well as they will have to deal with the men that these boys become.. It simply isn't a zero sum game. We should strive for a world where both sexes flourish.
@@kathymc234 I concur. We acknowledge that, starting in adolescence, we need to separate boys in girls when they participate in sports, because of their inherent differences. Its high time that we realize that those differences extend far beyond strength, speed, stamina, and structural differences in bone. These sex differences also effect the way kids approach learning as well.

I'm afraid not. Muhammad married a 6 year old girl (which he consummated when she turned 9), he had multiple wives and condoned polygamy among his followers. He also advocated murder and made allowances for rape. Have you ever read Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi? It's very good.

Wow that must have been exhausting. I thought I had a busy brain. It's so funny bc as a kid you really don't have anything to compare it with. You just assume everyone is like this and you a small degree they probably are.
School unfriendly acts: zero tolerance. 1st grade, my son drew two soldiers shooting. He was called to the principal without parents, being informed. I learned about that after the principal already "talked" to him about killing and not drawing that stuff. I ignored the consequences, but he stop drawing. I started getting informed and affirmed him that was okay to draw and play being a soldier, arms, peace, control, etc. The damage was done, it took years for him to draw again. Since then, i kept finding how teachers, librarians, principals, parents, my church, society push boys to keep them calm, sit, and fallow. I didn't know about homeschooling until the lockdown happened. Many things changed for good specifically with the daughter; homeschooling my son was hard and he really asked very hard to return to school. I believe to have a homeschool community helps parents with support specifically informing the process. I wasn't lucky enough, and a husband not very cooperative motivating my son. I didn't do a good job homeschooling, i did what i could and knew. Either way, i learned that i allowed my parenting role being stolen. Too much to explain. Covid19 gave me the opportunity to get close to my kids, my truly responsibilities as a mother, God, and my own spiritual life (mental and emotional). If you read all this already, trust your gut, assume responsibilities, and enjoy the short time you will have with your kids
Wow. What an interesting conversation. I’m a public school teacher and I see our kids- in general- in crisis. I will say with adhd- I don’t think it’s a real medical condition in a lot of cases. I think it’s a product of how early technology/social media/ gaming has rewired their brains. They cannot focus- many of them even when talking to you one on one. They can’t look at you even. They can’t hold a sentence in their working memories and repeat it to you. Of course there are kids who maybe have a disposition for this condition truly, but the vast majority are kids that spend hours and hours a night on games, probably have sleep deprivation, and are used to hyper stimulating devices that give them feedback (and a dopamine hit) every 30 seconds. That’s not real life.
My 43 year old son is a man. A good husband, father and son who provides for his family and protects them. He hunts, he disciplines with love and supports his wife. She in turn honors his place in their family as he does hers. I cannot believe how blessed I am to have birthed this guy. Our grandson is going to BE a man. He and his sister were homeschooled by Mom in The Good and The Beautiful curriculum and now they’re making the financial investment - NOT sacrifice - in their private Christian school education . Thank you lord for our beautiful family .
Hunting does not prove a man. Some people who hunt have the mindset of a pre-teen...no respect for animals and always the thought "killing a buck with a bigger rack than the next guy." Spare me. I have more respect for tribal men who need to kill animals in order for their family to eat that day than the average American hunter that thinks it's OK to kill things so he can brag about it and hang up the deer antlers to goad over their "trophies."
Do not drink water from the tap...the amount of chemicals (fluoride, chlorine, ammonia, etc.) and remnants of prescription drugs in tap water can cause health problems too. A water filtration system is vital or even better find a local spring.
I think one factor in schools becoming unfriendly to boys is that the ratio of men:women teachers is very unbalanced; I think 2 in 3 teachers are female? I don't think this would be a huge problem in elementary school, but I believe boys really need good male role models from middle school to high school. If they don't have one at home, it would help for the schools to have more men on staff than just as coaches.
It’s way more than 2 in 3, especially in elementary school. My elementary school had 500 or so kids and there was 1 male teacher. Middle and high school, it’s a little better but still not enough men
Biological boys grow up to be biological men. No test needed.Try teaching boys to cook, clean the house, pay bills, car maintenance, how to stay on a budget and save money, good hygiene, make sure they have a good work ethic, and self care. We call it being an adult.
@@courtneyj.4043 Women are expected to learn car maintenance, good work ethic, how to stay on budget, and pay the bills from a very young age? You're ether trolling or actually stupid.
The problem is there is no good vision for the future. We should ask what should boys be doing instead of what their currently doing(in detail)? It seems the generation that are now supposed to be the leader of leaders are just complaining about the aimlessness of boys instead of providing a frame of vision to follow. This is a series of circular failure where we fail to be followers, then fail to be leaders and finally fail to be leaders of leaders.
My boys point me to ?blessed? Carlos Acutis who is a modern day saint or on the track to be. He played video games. So I agree all things in moderation. When my boys play all day(often on weekends) I feel a sense of despair. Pray I can get them more involved somehow so they aren’t stuck indoors.
No one over 35 currently does not equate pong to video games. If you had said 60... that would be more believable. RDR2 takes about 50 1/2 hours to complete. Regulation on electronics is required.
After listening to this, I am even more convinced my parents tried to feminise my son. Everything boyish he did, was wrong, too loud, too rude and so on. Glad we only see each other through video calls nowadays. We moved to a conservative country.

In 1964, our Navy Dad came home on leave to discover the boys growing out their hair. While he’d been gone, Beatlemania had struck the USA. He did not approve. I don't agree that girls love classroom settings either. I have 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. We acted similarly in the classroom. Note most people claiming only little boys dislike sitting still are self proclaimed "boy moms", so don't speak for the girls.
It is my understanding that girls exhibit ADHD/ADD symptoms differently. I had a really hard time concentrating and sitting still in school but wasn’t disruptive. I really needed help but didn’t get it. So it was never noticed. My brother on the other hand, was extremely disruptive, aggressive, hyperactive. So it was easily diagnosed. It is my belief that the whole school system needs reform. I don’t believe it’s suitable for boys or girls. But I also believe parents need to take accountability in finding a learning/school system, environment that fits the needs of their children. Children are individually unique in their learning styles- that goes for both sexes. But We also can’t ignore the biological, chemical differences between boys and girls. Most boys do have a lot of energy in which requires physical activity to regulate it.
@@Catturtlelover3000 Really depends on the individual, but the most disruptive person at my little brother's charter school is a girl, so anecdotes are kind of random. But yes, no human being was meant to sit still for so long; I liked jumping on the trampoline inbetween subjects myself.
@@monkey6207 just as I mentioned- every kid is unique and different. But there really needs to be changes in the school system. It’s not healthy for kids to sit that long in general. I loved jumping on trampolines and playing soccer as a girl. I loved being physically active. But…. if you look at statistics, more boys have been historically medicated than girls. And you can’t deny that. But I also feel ADHD is being over diagnosed. Sometimes kids are disruptive because of abuse going on at home, divorce, childhood trauma, etc. that isn’t being properly addressed. Sometimes parents don’t take accountability and refuse to get their children therapy. There are sooo many factors going on. That’s why I think the school system needs to change on a general level.
I agree. Sitting for a long time doesn't work for either gender. Girls have been socialize to be quiet, calm, and polite while boys have been socialize to be loud and wild. When girls want to be active, they're "tomboys" or acting like a boy. It's all learned behavior.
Correction Doc, drinking from the tap is also not safe or clean from endocrine disrupters. Eh? You need to drink your filtered, CLEAN water from a glass or steel container.
How many would love our sons marrying a girl like Lila Rose? Lila Rose I hope you start a 90 day institute for women to learn to be homemakers and Christian wives.
Lila appears to be a good and sincere woman. If we want our sons to marry a woman who has the freedom and education to be an author, activist, podcast producer and host, as well as a Christian wife and homemaker then she's a good model. I'd like to meet the gal who cleans her house and pray my sons find a good housekeeper too.
11:00 I strongly disagree - contraception, sexual revolution was absolutely a left wing thing....so, what?!?!?!?!? Population control. He's not backing up enough.
I never fed my 14 month old son out of a bottle for this reason specifically. He was only ever breastfed. He was never away from me long enough to need one because I didn't want him to be any way. They have glass baby bottles that I looked into but they're not amazing. Try to make sacrifices if you can to stay with your baby and feed them the way God intended. We were never supposed to be separated obviously because the baby needs you for food every 3 hours or so. God's design and plans always work the best
@cassiegrannemann1624 I understand what you are saying but you should also be mindful that some women simply cannot breastfeed. I couldn't produce enough Breast milk for my son which caused problems for both him and me which resulted in me having to bottle-feed
@@cassiegrannemann1624No. Glass and silicone are fine. Most women don't do breast-to-baby breastfeeding after the first month. Many do bottle feeding with their breast milk though, and that is a reasonable compromise. My milk never dropped after both of my pregnancies, so formula and glass bottles were the answer for me. A practical woman knows to make sacrifices for their children. Hyperfocusing on too many details is part of the reason half of all women in the west will not have had a single child by 2030. It's a sad statistic I admit, but I'm not surprised given the pressures of modernity and if trying to be trad at the same time.
I blame the Milk they serve in School. So many kids have a Dairy intolerance that cause mental health and focus issues. Milk is full of lactose sugars that feed ADHD also.
Can't believe these parents in the study of the high school boys so naive to think so few of them are looking at porn on their phone. You would think the father's would at least be dialed in. Video Games are not all the same. Great video games can inspire and teach you how to feel things just like any great art. Terrible video games, like terrible UA-cam channels, can immerse you in many hours of meaningless and harmful content. When you fight against video games generally, you are fighting things that include many true good and beautiful titles, and against a group that is used to adversity. So just like we need to hold movies accountable for trash, meaningless, and content that is addictive just for the sake of being addictive, we need to do the same with video games.
@@kailaleebabineau3962 "Real Art" teaches you how to feel things. Video games can actually be a higher form of this because it can also emulate how to act properly. There's reflection and appreciation. Great video games, just like great movies or TV or paintings or statues, you don't want to binge. Fortnite, crappy late night tv, post modern art you'll find in museums, these are dopamine hits. Splashy, bright, devoid of meaning. And you binge them over and over. But great art makes you think, it makes you pause before coming back to it. You don't binge the Sistine chapel. You don't binge Casablanca. You don't binge Chronotrigger. You recognize how profound these works are and reflect on them and they improve you as a person.
@@kailaleebabineau3962 Video games are no more a waste of time than watching sports on TV or drinking beer and smoking cigars with the guys. If you don't like video games, do not play them.
@@kailaleebabineau3962What is "real" art, then, if not something many writers and artists worked on? Should we all have to stare at a Picasso painting all day since that is a more stereotypical art form? What if that is actually not meaningful to most people?
@@kailaleebabineau3962 Tell me you’ve never picked up a decent video game in your life, without telling me you’ve never played a decent video game in your life.
No one, especially children, should be playing violent video games/ first- person shoot-‘em-up games. As our country progressed and we moved away from farming practices/ chores/ hard work required by all family members and we moved to our modern way of living, we became increasingly lazy. When boys don’t have a sense of purpose or accomplishment for having worked hard they look for trouble.
I've played first person shoot em up games since I was 11 yrs old, and I've turned out completely fine plenty of ppl do. If you can watch real housewives, then surely I can enjoy my games.
Stimulants also have a strong antidepressant effect. And, on the subject of pornography, boys don’t read, anymore. I did, when I was young. I read My Secret Garden by Nancy Friday when I was 10. That gave me a much more realistic view of sex than pornography, and is also infinitely more intimate. This is why women read.
No 35 year old would think of Pong and Pac-Man when they think of video games. A 35 or 40 year old probably thought as a child "Oh, that's how video games were like earlier - and they probably played GTA 3, GTA San Andreas, Half Life 2, World of Warcraft and whatnot. You're just a few decades off there. Btw, my wife was suspended from school (canadian high school), because she wrote stuff that made the school staff think she might be a threat. Her parents had to get her to go to counseling, before she was allowed back. 😅
If pixels on a screen are more interesting than women is that men’s fault? Porn, video games and social media are definitely bad in excess. However, maybe romantic relationships in this generation are equally bad in excess.
”Pornography degrades not only the woman depicted but also the man who observes” …. 2000%
I would add it degrades everybody involved in production.
Sure does! Something an aware, alert, chaste catholic single has been screaming for decades ...and the damn "smart" tech has ushered these plandemics which they are. We ALL fall down when this is going on. I can tell a male uses it and I get really sad and angry when I find out.....no, I'm not judging his soul...but some actions like this, are HORRIBLE and cannot be undone. :( And. on one is feeling bad or empathetic for the victims, just the the users.

This gap in boys and girls reading is different in our homeschool community. This does indicate that it’s something to do with education. Two of my sons read non stop. I have to tell them to put the book down. The boys at their homeschool group trade off books they are reading. Boys play tackle football and dodgeball at recess (which is 1 hour long) and PE (another 45 minutes)

#1 problem with public school- it’s designed around the adults, not the kids.
My homeschool boys read a ton too! ❤
I was a teacher too. However, I now homeschool my daughter and she loves to read.
@@carolynm8350seems like that's becoming a common occurrence- public school teachers deciding to homeschool their own children.

Sax!
@Kwildcat13 My kids are still young. They are 4, 6, and 8, but when they are in middle school, we will allow dumb phones (no internet).
I 💯 support that decision!!!!! Stay strong and find a good community of other homeschoolers

The Catholic Church kept me from destruction. I know exactly where I would have been without it. I was a lost boy, the good Priests kept me on a practical path.
Exact reverse for me. My idol priest became a big friend of the Clinton's, and turned out he said he was homosexual-oriented.

I have heard some people do use them with success. Our boys have watches so better than a phone but still not fool proof.
What about the old type of phone, like a flip phone or some other basic phone. Some stores market as for the elderly, they're very basic.

Good for creativity?
For whom? The programmer or game designer!
Good for problem solving?
Where's this problem except in the mind of the player?
What 'problem-solving' concept is learnt that can be applied to real-world problem solving?
Solving a jigsaw puzzle 🧩 isn't problem solving!
Note a game is not a problem.
A jigsaw puzzle is a game. Not a problem.
The biased educational system; sub-standard parenting, etc are problems.
Problems that generate outcomes in the lives of individuals that would lead them to be of less value to themselves and society!
There's the element of choice which is subdued, weakened, silenced!
Problem solving requires prudent choices based on some 'norm' or reference.
Creativity implies giving something that wasn't there before or modifying/improving what is to make it better. Better purpose. Providing or making an option beneficial, profitable, more efficient, more affordable, etc.
Creativity is not an ad hoc imaginary idea nor some virtualization which serves no purpose beyond the idea.
Virtually, I may be able to assemble a car engine. However, that's the manufacture's training program.
In real life, I would be faced with similar components.
An individual mechanic may solve the 'problems' by creating better ways of doing 'live' assemblies.
The virtualization would be a restriction as it is programmed to behave a certain way.
Human creativity isn't bounded!
You were a late starter...
Cell towers are negativity affecting health sex orientation thinking etc
Nothing about single motherhood? So many children are being raised without their fathers in their lives.
1. Educational system anti-boy establishment and lack of strong brave male examples
2. Video games and their realistic and addictive quality

Re: medications
Our older son is a classic textbook case of ADHD.

So by 5 we had him tested by a psychologist and to our surprise he was diagnosed with ADHD. He started on medication and the change was astounding. After a few years he wanted off of it and we have helped him to stay on track in school. But no doubt the meds helped him early on.
Yes, the medication was life changing for my son. I hope he can be off of it eventually though.
Almost all of the food in my public school district's government breakfast and lunch is in plastic and most is heated in plastic.
My boys have no electronics/computers in their bedroom. Nothing. The phones are taken away after dinner. I find it very naive of parents to trust their kids to be responsible with their time.
Can't wait for the comment section.
Thank you so much! Such an important conversation. As a mom of a boy, I do not want to be "unfriendly" to boys. Thank you.
Make sure he's loving, caring, kind, and has emotional intelligence. Respectful and not gullible. Every man will tell you he's a good man, just make sure your son goes up to be a good person.
Just as dr. mentioned tap water yo drink - it is full if toxicity & needs high quality filter. And about heating food/ water in microwave - its not ok to use microwave for any food regardless of plastic issues. I wish dr. talks in regards of many other types of toxicity which affect neuro conditions.
Such a powerful episode, thank you!!
42:10 Regarding the simping dynamic. Women don't want simps... people who give freely to women without the women showing they are worth it somewhat.
Like the guy who is too eager from the start... it is a turn off...
There is a distinction between being a gentleman/charming/romantic and being a simp... different actions... Similar intentions but actions done in a right or wrong way....
❤ What an Amazing and insightful conversation . Kudos to Dr. Sax . A special thanks to Lila Rose and the Lila Rose production team !
31:00 -- do NOT drink from your tap before running it through a Berkey or revers osmosis. Tap is SO contaminated (I agree with the plastics...baaaad, but tap with out filtering? Eeek.) Also, tomato sauce in a plastic bottle is a sin (heehee, sorry, authentic italian here). DIY, GYO, etc. If not, canned tutorrosso. YESSS on the microwave :( Horrible! Use the stinkin' oven. It's laziness. Can we go there? Sloth. Another by-product of the 'smart' tech and convenience tech. You're right, "it's not hard to do it right." It's just laziness!!!
Thank you so much for this vital conversation
This convinced me that boys and girls should be in different classes or schools. If they learn differently, let them learn differently.
Agreed. Only foolish people think of this as a zero sum game in the grand scheme of things.
Thank you for having him on!
Excellent material, some of which I am not surprised about. But I am pleased to hear confirming information as this.
Only drink from glass or metal containers. Use cast iron skillets and pans. Invest in real water filtration. It makes a huge difference.
What about drinking from ceramic mugs?
@@no_displaynameI think it depends . There can be issues with paints and glazes,. I have some ceramic mugs I like but primarily use glass and stainless steel.
I’m Muslim. I agree with everything on this podcast. Can Christian’s and Muslims just agree to help this country together. Our ideologies align so much, we are all God fearing people.
I support that
I'm afraid not.
Islam is a misogynist ideology unfortunately, that’s not God’s will
Never had the drugs (I’m an old guy), but would stay up all night with a wild flaming imagination building worlds, inventing new sports, playing war games in my head, in high school writing constitutions for countries that did not exist. I couldn’t stop. Nobody had heard of ADD back then. Somehow (thank God) I have managed a fairly normal life (always worked kinetic active jobs), a pn fantastic spouse and a ton of grandkids, I’m a weird but happy (and not dangerous) old man😂😂😂
Wow that must have been exhausting. I thought I had a busy brain. It's so funny bc as a kid you really don't have anything to compare it with. You just assume everyone is like this and you a small degree they probably are.
Incredible podcast! Thank you. 🙏🏻
THIS IS EXCELLENT!!!❤this grandma says thank you 👏🏻❤️
Great topic. Thank you, Neighbor 👍
It will eventually come to come to your conscience mind that you and his hate him bc ALL WOMEN HATE MEN.
Excellent program.
I realize this was good for parents of school aged children but how can I help my young adult son? Help!
Thank you so much ❤
Do not drink water from the tap...the amount of chemicals (fluoride, chlorine, ammonia, etc.) and remnants of prescription drugs in tap water can cause health problems too.
Middle and high school, it’s a little better but still not enough men
I am so grateful Catholics have the male saints as role models for men.
🙌🏼
Such pleasure to listen! Thank you! Yes, men are more like Phil from Modern Family, not like Charles Ingles from Little House on the Prairie
Biological boys grow up to be biological men. No test needed.Try teaching boys to cook, clean the house, pay bills, car maintenance, how to stay on a budget and save money, good hygiene, make sure they have a good work ethic, and self care. We call it being an adult.
No that’s a womans job, only girls are taught that
Funny how all those things aren't things society expects WOMEN to do to be considered an adult.
@@Cybertech134It's EXACTLY what women are expected to do from a very young age.
Pray I can get them more involved somehow so they aren’t stuck indoors.
great conversation
Wow!!!! Awesome.,. Need him to come to Guam!
No one over 35 currently does not equate pong to video games. If you had said 60... that would be more believable.
RDR2 takes about 50 1/2 hours to complete.
Regulation on electronics is required.
Loved Dr Saxe!
After listening to this, I am even more convinced my parents tried to feminise my son. Everything boyish he did, was wrong, too loud, too rude and so on.
Glad we only see each other through video calls nowadays. We moved to a conservative country.
If you don’t let them play video games constantly, they will read books for fun. It truly is that simple. ❤
Video games are the next great art form, but can be destructive, if used too much. All good things in moderation.
We live in South Africa you can't drink water from a tap.Our water makes you sick. You have to drink Botteled water. Thus we live drinking, cooking from botteled water. This is a really bad situation. And learning today about this,is a real wake up call.
37’28’’… Should really concern us gravely that nobody knows the deep meaning of gentleman anymore 😢
Awesome video!
This episode is a bomb! Wow!
In 1964, our Navy Dad came home on leave to discover the boys growing out their hair. While he’d been gone, Beatlemania had struck the USA. He did not approve. As soon as we got home, he gave the boys the CPO lecture, sent them off to the barbershop with the command to, “Come back with a man’s haircut!” Every last one of them knew exactly what he meant!
Meditation moments should be mandatory in grade school to help busy brains calm instead of prescribing medication.
French kids eat healthy so in part that helps them focus. American kids eat terrible for the most part.
The king of pop Michael Jackson as I remember was apparently afraid to behave like an adult male and I think a lot of that stems from how his father raised him
What incentive do we as men have to "step up"?
Preservation of the West for the future of your race
@@hiddenhand6973 The west is already dead. I don't care about marrying in my race, I would just like a woman who is kind.
@@hiddenhand6973 Yeah, we don't give a shit about that anymore. Give us an individualistic reason or screw off.
Oh honey, you have yourself. You are the incentive. Very good one too.
@@hiddenhand6973 Preservation of what? The west is already dead. I don't want to preserve this-why would any man in his right mind want to preserve this? For men to fight for a culture where we are hated is the definition of insanity.
I don't agree that girls love classroom settings either. I have 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. We acted similarly in the classroom. Note most people claiming only little boys dislike sitting still are self proclaimed "boy moms", so don't speak for the girls.
*We were homeschooled if you wonder how I know what my siblings acted like "in the classroom". So don't even pretend boys are more restless.
16:13 That's an interesting point that I don't think the older generation gets. The experience is bigger and better in games.
It could be Arrested development.
How about not microwaving in plastic? Is microwaving still safe?
I would to hear him talk about the female side! please have him back!
Yes definitely.
11:00 I strongly disagree - contraception, sexual revolution was absolutely a left wing thing....so, what?!?!?!?!? Population control. He's not backing up enough.
Women in general got tired of having babies until their uteruses fell out and wanted to do other things.
Lila can I please ask if you've ever played an actual video game and beat it
What about plastic baby bottles?
Great question - they aren’t great. Ideal to use glass or steel - just less convenient!
Such self-hate, self a denigration due perception non-perfection
Yes, yes, yes!
Its ine thing to not know exactly what to do about it or to fully understand the harm but at least know what yiure dealing with
The world turned upside down!!!
Demanding that a boy be evaluated before he returns to school because he wrote a story about a battle does not arise from any reasonable intention, conspiracy or not. It's completely ignorant, unreasonable, and unjustifiable.
I have a nine year old daughter who is on guanfacine - a heart medication.
Video games are not great art. Go find real art and maybe you'll be inspired to not waste your time.

Funny I played plenty of video games and did plenty of hard work out doors as a kid. So did a lot of kids my age.
its a combination of all those plus throw in there the fact that most moms of that generation are “feminists” …we got what we have now
My house has pex instead of copper water pipes ☹️

Stimulants also have a strong antidepressant effect. And, on the subject of pornography, boys don’t read, anymore. I did, when I was young. I read My Secret Garden by Nancy Friday when I was 10. That gave me a much more realistic view of sex than pornography, and is also infinitely more intimate. This is why women read.
Just sounds like you read porn for women. Women's accounts aren't "more realistic" than men's.

If pixels on a screen are more interesting than women is that men’s fault? Porn, video games and social media are definitely bad in excess. However, maybe romantic relationships in this generation are equally bad in excess.
