  • Welcome back to the channel
In this weeks video I show you how to diagnose and repair a bad compressor on a 2009 Subaru Forester all wheel drive automatic SOHC. The vehicle came in for an issue with the air conditioner and we soon discovered that there was no gas in the system and barely any pressure. So of course I went about testing the system my way and discovered that it had a bad compressor which probably led to leak from the compressor. In the video you'll see me go through this process and charge it up after replacing the compressor with a good used one. Of course this is something that you boys and girls can do at home but I would caution you with dealing with your air conditioning system because they are quite toxic and can be quite dangerous because of the pressure and toxicity of this system. So of course if you are going to tackle this at home make sure you are familiar with this sort of thing or have a train professional work on the system for you. Of course whatever you do do not vent your refrigerant to atmosphere it is highly toxic not only for yourself but everything else. I hope you find the video entertaining as well as helpful if you do please hit that subscribe button to support my work.
As always thanks for watching we will see you in the next one...

When you pumped up the air into the system, did you only go to 30 psi or did you go to the running pressure of the system?

Stupidest thing ever. It really is one of the dumbest designs. Like I understand they were saving money but really. They couldn't come up with the serpentine belt that year. It only took them the last two years of the EJ run. Thanks Subaru LOL
