i lived in apopka for 30 years theres a lot of traffic and people now i moved 25 years ago i went to vist last years its not same anymore Wekiva Springs and Rock Springs were free to go in
Thanks Chad. My wife and I just added Apopka to our 'Tour of Florida' trip list. However, what I and many other old Orlando area residents miss is the Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival of the 90's and 00's. Held around Memorial Day, this was a huge event with carnival rides, arts and crafts booths, and famous country music stars as headliners. The real star of the show was the all-you-can-eat sweet corn grown mostly at Long and Scott Farms and cooked in "Big Bertha" - the largest corn cooking pot in the world. Unfortunately, the needed cleanup of Lake Apopka by filter ponds twenty years ago took away most of the farmland, and the festival declined until it ended over a decade ago.
Good stuff, thanks! We've lived in Apopka 25+ years & I'm a realtor, and I still learned some interesting things. Cheers!
Great to hear!
That shaved snow looked delicious!
So good!

I remember locals talking about the Sweet Corn Festival.

It’s worth the drive from Sanford.
I don’t understand how this Chanel doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of followers.
Been following for years and am always amazed at your creativity.
