French companies are well known for making light, very responsive cars that are at their best on twisty roads. Check Renault and Peugeot history... In terms of driving experience and satisfaction, they are among the best
I never appriciated french cars until I drove an old 105 in France to a wine tasting in the mountains. And then I got it. The to big steering wheel, the slightly soft suspension.. super funny.
So glad they relaunches the Alpine name. They've made it a real driver's car too. I am sure they will bring out a faster model if this one is successful. Nice review Sam.
From what I heard, it will be called "AS110" and the engine could provide up to 325hp. But first, it will be the A110 cabriolet which will be made after the coupe.
Cc38150 Last week I was on a trackevent of Alpine and indeed there are plans of a S with at least 300hp. It will be a fair amount more expensive and also when these S models are actually being delivered it will be somewhere in 2021-2022. When you order a normal Alpine at this time the wait is already one year. So I don't see the S hitting the streets very soon. There will always be something newer and faster...you can always wait for this and in the end you buy nothing or live now ;) But, no words about a A110 roadster in the near future....
Probably your best ever video Sam. I really do get why you bought the Cayman.....but this car is just more ‘you’. It’s more niche and looks just fantastic!
Great review!! This is a long awaited revival of the Alpine brand, and I guess Renault have done it perfectly this time. Alpine has never been about pure power but rather lightweight and pleasure of driving. I have owned a Boxster previously and I think it is the most fun car to drive and enjoy on a daily basis, but I would definitely buy the Alpine rather than anything else in its class. Hopefully a future S version!
Hey, Sam! Original A110 owner here (specifically a 1969 A110 1300S). I just wanted to thank you for the great review! Sadly, the new A110 won't be coming to my country, but I wish you well on a very difficult decision. I think a lot of people in the comments misunderstand the point of the new Alpine. It's an experience machine, not a numbers machine. Sure, it performs very respectably for the price, but it's much more about the sound, the agility, and the sense of occasion. Additionally, I love the fact that they drew so heavily from the design of the original. Originally (on the first A110), that odd, four-headlight design was done in order to maximize night-time visibility (when rallying) without having to increase the coefficient of drag. Personally, i love the homologation look, but I know that it's not for everyone. In many ways, since this new one isn't a rally car, I wish they'd copied the A108 more than the A110, but, to each his or her own.
Such a shame that this car doesn't have a manual option. A lightweight mid-engined car that meant to be hooned down mountain roads, it practically begging for it.
Sam, seriously, the quality of your videos is excellent! Those shots in combination with your music choice, are gold. Also, you're a very nice, enthusiastic guy
I actually recommended this car on one of your video's when you were hunting for a daily, you should have waited!!! Such a special car, but it would have even better if it had a manual gearbox!!
Paul Saakes If you like special editions check out my 2017 GTI Clubsport (GTI 40 Year Anniversary) on my Channel! Its the GTI Edition 40, but called Clubsport like some Porsche models.
I love love love your drone work in this video. There's a visible improvement from literally just the last video. I love the tracking shots while the car is out on track. Great work!!!
Even as a Porsche enthusiast, I must confess: The French engineers have done well! A car to fall in love with. The weight reduction and the reduction of the operating elements are pointing the way: Other manufacturers must and will follow!
Sam, so glad you are invited to press launches for these new vehicles. Would much rather hear your point of view than some 'journalist' complaining about cup holders! Beautiful videography as always! Keep up the good work :-)
Sam I always catch myself off guard bobbing my head to your videos. Along with the great content and editing you always smash it with your sound tracks. What an awesome car this is. I'd actually love to see a slightly lifted rally spec one.
Envious of you Sam. We don’t get Alpine over here on the other side of the pond. Beautiful car. Great Porsche alternative. Always love your camera angles. You and MrJWW are spot on with camera work.
Another great video Sam, well done. You always bring a lovely warm vibe to your vids, wonderful music. I just love the lazy piano and trumpet jazzy type music. Love this car too. Keep it up Big Boy you is doing good...
Great review Sam,your green porker is a fantastic car,but the Alpine has captured your heart. Sometimes you just got to go with your feelings. That's why we love our cars.
Alfa 4C...It's just a "kart"... No clim, no ABS, no ESP, no comfort, etc.... Alpine A110 can be drive everyday in all situation. That's the difference ! :)
Alberto Balestrini just two main differences, alfa is based on carbon platform unlike the alpine that is on aluminium... So it's a bit lighter and the gearbox is better (Ferrari gearbox)...
Awesome to see an Alpine re-launch! the car looks amazing both inside and out and I am quite frankly impressed with the build quality. That being said the reason why they compare the a110 mk2 to your Cayman S is the price range. Roughly 52k british pounds vs 64k $ Cayman S. The performance figures at low speed are also roughly the same. On the track I'd put my money on the Cayman S but I think the alpines have near unmatchable driving dynamics.
Il parle trop vite pour moi 😂mais il a l'air content ...il est très enthousiaste cela fait plaisir ....moi j'attends la mienne avant l'été ...YYEEESSSS 😄🇫🇷
I think people are mixing up lightweight and quality. They did everything to make the car lighter so some things are going to feel thin and light not heavy and dense like in a Mercedes
Neil Porter Yes & if you want the best of both worlds you buy the GTI Clubsport. Its under 1500 kilos so not super light, but for a German its really good. And they even imported material or the chassis from the the netherlands to keep it light. Check it on my channel! :)
It all depends on your definition of a "sportscar" . If light and agile the trade of WILL be that some things feel thin. But hey, that might be what you want. And then again : 1100 kg is not heavy but also not really lightweight... Lightweight, for me, is at least, below the 1000 kg mark.
The Alpine looks fantastic if you ask me and I'd love to have the opportunity to drive one, far more desirable than a Cayman if you ask me, although you won't like me for saying that Sam. I do have one very picky complaint with the car though - just how thick is the bezel on the touchscreen?! Yes, I know that is such a silly thing to pick out, but it just seemed to really stand out to me. On another note, I agree with that others said, and that it should be available with the option of a manual gearbox. As always Sam, top notch video!
These sort of reviews really are your thing. Not many manage to make this vlog style review thing interesting start to finish. Car is pretty fucking cool as well, those leds make it look like some sort of venomous spider that snatches versace lizards from a cozy little hole in the ground. Honestly think it's a great sports car to drive on European roads.
Thanks for this great review and it makes me wish I can start my company to evebtually own one of these. I have been into Alpines before and the automobile engineering professor at the Engineering School in Montreal used to race in an Alpine A110 from the 60s.
When these have an official release in the states, I'm gonna have to see if I can get a stripped model that I can actually afford. Every time I look at one, I fall deeper in love. I need one
The exhaust note sounds very similar to the Alfa Romeo 4c on shifting, and it`s more comparable to that design wise. The Cayman is more exclusive as perception, this brings us to my question, would you choose an Alpine or a Alfa 4c?
The six cylinder Cayman used to be the default choice in this price bracket. Porsche fucked up and threw a Subaru engine in the Caymans, and the TTRS was my choice because of the five cylinder engine - my all time favourite engine setup. ..but how can you beat the ultimate cool that is a bloody good looking A110 retro thing. This car has them all beat, by a lot. Great video Sam.
I heard the Alpine had a Renault-Nissan 1.8 Turbo engine, reworked by Alpine. I wonder if the engine had similar parts from other Nissan or Renault counterpart, it would be awesome if it did and repairs for the future would be less expensive and such.
French companies are well known for making light, very responsive cars that are at their best on twisty roads. Check Renault and Peugeot history... In terms of driving experience and satisfaction, they are among the best
Marine 1 hahaha you remain the same as usual
Totally agree. My uncle has a 308 RCZ R and boy is it an experience to drive!
R5T2 or 205T16 are good examples :)
I never appriciated french cars until I drove an old 105 in France to a wine tasting in the mountains. And then I got it. The to big steering wheel, the slightly soft suspension.. super funny.
The French cars are known for their mediocre build quality.

It isn't a "real driver's car" without a manual. Almost, but not quite.
888MF oqwww
they prepare an SUV Alpine with 300 hp .
Cc38150 Last week I was on a trackevent of Alpine and indeed there are plans of a S with at least 300hp. Probably your best ever video Sam. I really do get why you bought the Cayman.....but this car is just more ‘you’. It’s more niche and looks just fantastic!
Sorry Sam, you bought the wrong car! The Alpine is so much more special! Would like to see more video’s about the Alpine in the future.
Next video:Changing to Alpine A110
Виктор Попов hopefully
It feels like hes trying to push Seb into getting it... Just you wait & see... ;)
Jason Cascone that sounds like Vehicle Virgins
It's amazing because on each video test of the Alpine A110 drivers are smiling big time !!
That looks incredible. The interior looks more premium then the 718 in my opinion, and it has retained some very concept car-like elements!
Driven/owned both the Alpine interior is not more premium than the 718.
This is one of your best videos to date. You're really stepping up the filming and editing game, congrats!
Car of the moment.

maybe in 1990
IceFIsh Which makes it even more sensible because this is supposed to be a homage to the original A110, no?
Problem is: Everyone says they want a manual, no one actually buys them...
Art3ga Yeah good point, especially at this price bracket
Riswan Ahmad P. The alpha 4c doesn't have one and it's a machine
Sam, seriously, the quality of your videos is excellent!
Those shots in combination with your music choice, are gold.
Also, you're a very nice, enthusiastic guy
unique and cool looking car, looking forward to seeing these around
Car of the century !
erjati zineddine yeahhhhh
I prefer this over the Porsche! Both cool cars though :)
100% trade the Porsche for this!!!
It's cheaper too
I actually recommended this car on one of your video's when you were hunting for a daily, you should have waited!!! Such a special car, but it would have even better if it had a manual gearbox!!
Paul Saakes If you like special editions check out my 2017 GTI Clubsport (GTI 40 Year Anniversary) on my Channel! Its the GTI Edition 40, but called Clubsport like some Porsche models.
...and LSD.
Sam. You made me fall in love. I'm just sad that i cannot afford this car in Denmark. Damn, that looks to me like the perfect sports car.
I love love love your drone work in this video. There's a visible improvement from literally just the last video. I love the tracking shots while the car is out on track. Great work!!!
the class of your videos are head and shoulders above anything else, the background music and photography is just on another huge level
STG, they have plans for an A110 Sport. Will have somewhere around 300 horsepower
Danoli that'd be a bit of a weapon especially if they took even more weight from it
specialists will can transform this car for more power .
Certainly looks better than the cayman
Even as a Porsche enthusiast, I must confess: The French engineers have done well! A car to fall in love with. The weight reduction and the reduction of the operating elements are pointing the way: Other manufacturers must and will follow!
Sorry Sam, but i’d rather have one of these than a cayman😬 Great video anyway👍
Joe Cooper me to. So much more exclusive.
Josh Charlie yes, I love how they brought the old A110 design into it as well
ok but at least this Alpine has 2 boots compared to Cayman and nicer inside-out ! ;0)
No fuck you
Vincec og.. To who do you address yourself ?
My new favorite car!
BERTEN me too !
...awkward styling on that Alpine
I definitely like it much more than Cayman
g00dfeeling I like the back of it, but other than that I prefer the Cayman in pretty much every way
TheSuperSwain Even sound? 😂😂😂
The SuperSwain - at least this Alpine has 2 boots compared to Cayman and is nicer inside-out ! ;0)
Sam, so glad you are invited to press launches for these new vehicles. Would much rather hear your point of view than some 'journalist' complaining about cup holders! Beautiful videography as always! Keep up the good work :-)
sam nailed it with the music, you have made my day
Really good track commentary Sam. Not easy to talk and concentrate when on track.
Sam I always catch myself off guard bobbing my head to your videos. Along with the great content and editing you always smash it with your sound tracks. What an awesome car this is. I'd actually love to see a slightly lifted rally spec one.
Definitely one of the best automotive UA-camrs out here!
She is beautiful ! Im glad off reborn brand alpine ! France rules
Take notes ///M and /////AMG LIGHTWEIGHTS NOT MORE POWER
Mohammad Chehadde Thats why you buy a GTI Clubsport like i did. Check videos on my channel! :)
Mohammad Chehadde light is right yes!😉
3DFX gti clubsport ? 1500 kgs men. ....🤔
AMG never was about weight saving.
@@Keckegenkai exactly, completely different type of car.
Very nice review! You can feel the joy of driving such a piece of jewelry!
Envious of you Sam. We don’t get Alpine over here on the other side of the pond. Beautiful car. Great Porsche alternative. Always love your camera angles. You and MrJWW are spot on with camera work.

Great video as always! And what about with an Alfa 4C? What's the differences?
Alfa 4C...It's just a "kart"... No clim, no ABS, no ESP, no comfort, etc....
Alpine A110 can be drive everyday in all situation. That's the difference ! :)
Alberto Balestrini really proche car. ..
Alberto Balestrini just two main differences, alfa is based on carbon platform unlike the alpine that is on aluminium... So it's a bit lighter and the gearbox is better (Ferrari gearbox)...
DurianObried no abs, esp, traction control?!?!
Well, you sure don't know anything about cars when screaming your opinion on the internet.
and tu peux pas accèder au moteur sur l'Alpha!!!
Liked before watching... obviously!
look wise, I'm loving that Alpine so far. What a gorgeous car.
14:55 agree, best car you can buy at this price range. I like the Cayman but it's way too expensive after a few options. Great review Sam
Well done Sam, another cracking video - keep them coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome to see an Alpine re-launch! the car looks amazing both inside and out and I am quite frankly impressed with the build quality. Chanceux !!!!
Mega chanceux ! Je suis jaloux ...grrr.
Le Phare Ouest haha quelle chance :) félicitation !!!
Une vidéo ? 🙏☺️
Ce n’est pas une chance mais un choix
The music on your videos is always tops!
I did suggest the Alpine when you were asking what your next daily should be.
I think people are mixing up lightweight and quality. They did everything to make the car lighter so some things are going to feel thin and light not heavy and dense like in a Mercedes

Excellent video Sam. You're getting better and better at this UA-cam game 👌
should have bought the alpine
This would be the perfect car in nz ,we have so many tight windy backroads on our doorstep 🙂
The Alpine looks fantastic if you ask me and I'd love to have the opportunity to drive one, far more desirable than a Cayman if you ask me, although you won't like me for saying that Sam. Well done. At the top of your game on sharing the experience
Hi don’t suppose the track was folembray in France?
Great video, very nice car! Oh and wow, the weather there is still pure epicness.
I also noticed a delay on shifting, like the Alfa Romeo has sometimes.
Stellar Production and a great review Sam. 👌

This car has beautiful sculpture, but i feel like it needs a wing. Great video Sam
A wing would ruin it, just like it ruins the look of the F-Type roadster.
... and some flares, right? But not stupid riveted ones, but proper, like a 944.
Shifts gotta be as quick as a PDK or no? It sure sounds quick!
Really dig the classic lines on this car! This car will age well, for sure
Wish we had these in the states. I've always loved these things.
Could you please drive the Noble M600, just curious about that british car and your opinion to that car
This seems like a close rival to the 4c in ways. How would you compare?
Thanks for this great review and it makes me wish I can start my company to evebtually own one of these. I have been into Alpines before and the automobile engineering professor at the Engineering School in Montreal used to race in an Alpine A110 from the 60s.
I think wait to see if they come out with a faster version, if they do swap out the cayman or what ever you have at that point for it
Hey Sam, great video. If you travel alone, how do you get those drone shots???
Oh snap! Starting the video off with my new Christmas track?! Nice! Much love to ya'll :)
For those who want more music, head over to my channel :)
When these have an official release in the states, I'm gonna have to see if I can get a stripped model that I can actually afford. Every time I look at one, I fall deeper in love. I need one
Once I saw the new Renault Alpine, I love it, defiantly up there with my favorites: the Audi R8, TTRS, BMW M2 and Subaru BRZ
FalconGamer58 ,Definitely.
Great video of an important car. Though, please tell us how it compares with your previous Alfa 4C ????
would this be a nice upgrade from a Genesis 3.8?
C'mon alpine give Sam one of these for a cross europe trip because to be honest I would love to see more of this car and Sam's cinematic shots.

I saw nearly every of your movies and I must admit, you are lucky man :)
Sam, how the car managed that bumpy road you mentioned?
Why no walk around of interior and exterior?
Love watching your videos man! Keep it up!
they are releasing a 300hp version later on. sharing the same engine as the Megane RS Throphy. Great video as usal sam, and what a lovely car!
The exhaust note sounds very similar to the Alfa Romeo 4c on shifting, and it`s more comparable to that design wise. The Cayman is more exclusive as perception, this brings us to my question, would you choose an Alpine or a Alfa 4c?
Dear Sam, what is the watch you're wearing? thanks
Balanced, sharp and elegant car
I like it a lotttt 🇫🇷❤️
Nice review Sam, getting better and better. I don' t think we will see the Alpine here in the states.
thanks for sharing your experience in this amazing french car!!!
love that color!!!
I have put a deposit down for a uk version can't wait for it.
Good insight into this new car well done Sam, I do think the music at the end was too long.
Next video... "why I'm selling my Porsche 718 Cayman s"
Ghvj Bgh
Haha, very good man!
GREAT Video on this car! I cant seem to find enough on this car! Love it! Thanks for sharing your experience you lucky dog you!
How much do they cost? Also, how could I get one into America?
Cinematography is better than ever!
Nice driving Sam!
"...yes...and he's away!!" Sam. Having French lap fun. In the middle of nowhere :)
Beautiful car nice power a bit surprised not being offered in acouple of higher power variants as an option
Great beat, so important to have good music. Besides the understeer, I'd like one as well
ENFIN ! We have a beautiful car in France ! It wasn't arrived since the Peugeot 406 coupé twenty gars ago !
Now drive the one from 1972!
haha it would totally make this beast in vid feel like soccer moms daily driver
The Alpine is bloody fantastic. More than a Cayman I am afraid so. The prize is perfect, coule be my next daily😍.
