    That's gotta be one of the coolest and cleanest looking battery connector solder joints i've ever seen , makes it look it's never touched or tampered with.

    Hello from Germany. Today I had to do a service job on a laser cutting machine with a display issue. Machine was working but no display on the screen. That was a little inconveniant because it was the touch screen to operate the machine. I assumed the inverter pcb for the background lighting is faulty. For some reason there was no spare part available. Encouraged from watching your videos I started a visual inspection and saw nothing obvious. I grab my multimeter and started some measurements on capacitors and diodes. Then I found a failed smd fuse. I used a replacement fuse from my car and soldered it with two wires to the pads. And voila the screen is back again and the customer can work with the machine. Thank you very much for the effort you put into your videos to share them with us.💯👍🙂

    • @Jdmark3523
      @Jdmark3523 2 роки тому

      Well you were lucky, fuses don't fail at random..

    • @crazyedo9979
      @crazyedo9979 2 роки тому

      @@Jdmark3523 You are absolutely right. It was a temporary fix for sure. No bleating from the customer till today so machine is assumed working. When the new part is available it will be excanged but at the moment it becomes more and more wilderness here every day. Nearly nothing is in stock and the prices skyrocketed within the last two months. Because of this more and more customers are asking for an inexpensive repair. 😁

    Where have you been Mr. Alex!?
    We are all suffering from "Northridgefix' withdrawal!
    Good to see you back, I know that you've been busy as your business is never without work to do.
    That is one badly cared for device.
    I still have most of my devices from 7 years ago and take good care of them.
    Some, on occasion had minor problems but I have kept them in good service.
    When I watch some of the other YT channels where people take devices much older and then restore them back to new, well ................it's amazing just as what you do.
    Great show Sir.
    Thank YOU!!!
