Mirage is the same system with faster animations but the animations stop quickly too, which makes it look like the assassin is sticking to each parkour point.

@@Leo.de69 i didnt mean that way. I would like to Basim have running, like Arno have in unity (or Ezio, Altair, Connor, Edward, and Jacob) in the past three games fast running was non existent. Bayek, Kassandra/Alexios, Eivor were not able to fast run, only fast walk. That what i want, i didnt mean it as ability, but i didnt know how to write it down.
@@themester1112 They all had running, the thing they didn’t have were jogging/fast walking except for Eivor he had slow walk, jog, and a run
@@Geeromedagoat27 It's because the player just didn't trigger sprinting. He sprints right before using the red smoke and also right before dropping the scaffold.
Even with a very similar system. The environment makes a huge difference. Unity and Syndicate had the same parkour system in different environments and it made a world of difference.

Except in syndicate you couldn't manually jump off buildings if the game didn't consider it safe. Unity also kinda prevents this, but by doubling down on the jump button, you can force it to do it, so there's a little bit more freedom. Anyways, except for the tames, syndicate's map is too large for parkour, the streets are too large, buildings are too high (or at least don't have that many parkour levels on the side of the building) which forces you to use the grappling hook. And it's a cheap cop out, unlike arkham knight or just cause 3 where the movement system and level design (especially in arkham) is based around it

Mirage parkour is literally just the same as Odyssey but the movements are lined up back to back. It's still clunky as fuck.

Even though it's the same system just with faster animations it still looks miles better than Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins simply because unlike those games this map is actually built for parkour as your main choice of traversal unlike the other games.
It's clunky as hell. Like another comment said basim gets stuck where he lands. It looks like Valhalla but more slow. Will say though at least we won't be climbing cliffs with Spiderman hands
In Odyssey and Valhalla the character dropped to fast, much faster than earths gravity acceleration. In Mirage, Basim seems to drop from heights much more realistic. Also the camera doesn't move that awkward compared to Odyssey
In Odyssey, we literally play as a demigod, but even a demigod rolls down the tightrope at the expense of a spear.
What I hold out hope for, is that they weren’t running in the demo to show the full environment in a slower pace, if basim actually runs like that, the franchise is dead.

You can bind run to RT, I immediately did that. It's stupid it isn't automatically binded to RT
Mirage looks like it's playing in slow motion
The least they have to do is smoothen the animation transitions. You can literally see the exact points where "jumping to thing A" is over and "jumping to thing B" begins.

the biggest difference is the map and the system, mirage uses the Valhalla system with the animations without "fluidity" but the map tries to compensate for this with better parkour possibilities
I have 8-9 hours on Odessey and I still 100% believe that Mirage will be better
I've said this a couple times on the internet but Mirage ir make or break for the franchise
If its as good as we believe,the hype will be back and OG AC fans will come back and new ones will knoe of better and better games instead of always thinking that all new games are trash

The main thing bugging me is how basims momentum isnt consistent. Every time he lands he tends to stop suddenly just to spring himself onto the next platform.
The Oddysey Jump Arc is so weird. Like jump up, no forward momentum, fall like a stone.

Problem is they did that for ever and people complained about the games and every game that came out fans complained so they tried something new fans still complained. You can't satisfy everyone. All the unity fans will never get another game that will feel that smooth again All the other games are clunky and ugly looking
You can do all that stuff in odyssey too, pretty bad side by side tbh. One of the most neat ones was Alexios quickly monkey bar swinging across like 7 suspended vines

Why do I feel like in mid air, the gravity is so much that it's pulling them to the ground? Rather than something which looks better or is more like a trajectory in free flow, this looks like in mid air gravity be like "aight imma pull this MF down".
Agree with you on that one, You can feel the snappiness of each jump it's not smooth
Apparently, you reach maximum velocity in mid air, creating the clunky and slowed down feel when you land and slow down.

I'm hoping to god they update the parkour controls to what AC3/Black Flag used. I liked Unity, I didnt like the manual roll as much. But the RPG parkour controls sucked. I would maybe want AC1/AC2 controls, but i hated having 3 levels of speed

i hope mirrage is as good as the original parkour, i really enjoy it because it's involved rather than the origins and odyssey parkour, its a bit slow and boring. odyssey is bprobably one of if not my favorite assassins creeds but dang it could have been great with some good parkour

Odyssey sucks as an AC game, but I feel like people unfairly shit on the parkour because of the poor surrounding game. In my opinion it's easily the best of the RPG trilogy. It's boring for sure, but functionally, getting from point A to point B, it's smooth as silk. It's the same as Origins, but more fluid. Kass and alexios don't land as heavily as Bayek, nor do they stick to points as much. And then Valhalla took a hot steaming shit all over it 💀
Edit: I commented before watching, and this video is a REAL bad example. It's capable when you are good at it lol. This dude needs to learn that auto-drop is a thing and you don't have to hold the parkour button nonstop. It's smooth as shit when you do a quick little drop off small ledges instead of hopping into nowhere every time you reach a ledge
You can't die from falling in odyssey, so it takes away a lot of the intensity of parkour. All rpg games are pretty weak in this regard, however, I feel like origins had slightly better level design compared to odyssey. I would compare it (obvious with an immense quality gap) to the difference in parkour between ac 3 and 4. Black flag, like odyssey, had an important focus on the sea, so the land set pieces were a bit less interesting than ac 3 despite the system being almost exactly the same. It may also help that stealth is feels more important in origins than in odyssey, so I felt more invested in using parkour in origins than odyssey
Parkour is the best on unity, and the details on the monuments is better and imo the details look better than odyssey

They made another Assassin's Creed Odyssey/Valhalla (I call these Assassin's Creed Adventures, the RPG subseries inside the AC macro universe) and just skinned it like a traditional Assassin's Creed, leaving fans of both traditional and "adventure" Assassin's Creed disgruntled
AC Odyssey is a great game y'all gotta understand that alexios is a spartan not an assassin. Alexios was trained to be a spartan hero not an assassin.
