That was the most accurate description for Greedent I've ever heard 😂 honestly when I see Pokemon like Greedent or Sableye I don't consider them part of a team; they're more like map hazards that just go and do whatever they want
On the other hand, having your enemy fight against YOUR map hazard can be significant too. You can't force Greedent to play with you no sir. That guy has their own agenda and their own positioning to follow. But if you can play around him, you'll be surprised with the amount of play you had never thought possible.
As I'm going through my second account and racking up a returning player bonus on my main account, this is super helpful. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar
Actually, Offline mode nerfs the stats of opponent mons so it just lets you steamroll regardless of mon. Instead, you can go to tournament mode (The icon above the calender icon on main menu) Online then change the rules/settings so you have all licenses available on that mode, and either play with friends or bots. Ofc, in case of bots you will still snowball easily, but at least it won't be as braindead easy as offline mode, hence giving you a better idea of the mon'z capabilities
You can pull some cheap bs as wigglytuff and I hate it. Someone had a spamming Mewtwo X and their teammate wiggly always was beside them spamming sing. I hated those players as a mimikyu main
as a person who has zero main i love wigglytuff cause its so annoying with sing spam cause you can just be chasing a speedster and then just use sing and they gone
Mamo is that one defender that never got its time in the spotlight, but it is so fun to play. It really deserves buffs like you said. You really can’t in good faith recommend it to just anyone but man do I like playing it Also one thing I’ll add about leafeon is that if you don’t play a lot of speedsters but you want to be able to pick one if team comp calls for it, this is a relatively easy one
The sad part about hoopa is, i really enjoy truck hoopa. Genuinely the only actual support support that i enjoy playing(mime and wiggly i simply wouldnt count as supports. On that note, i think wiggly is supporter simply because of the ult: it heals and gives shields)... but sadly trick hoopa is really not good right now, and the only trick hoopa build that is somewhat reasonable to play requires your teammates to know how phantom force + trick work together... and they wont. They simply wont. Speaking from experience Edit: as for your final question: i wouldnt really say i disagree with your rating of it, it is a basic mage with no mobility and no real gimmicks, very true but I think its worth pointing out that if that is exactly what someone is looking for, chandelure is by far the most fun "basic" mage, and also the most versatile. Can go jungle or lane, has stuns early, Overheat and Flamethrower both have very different "basic mage" playstyles, and the other move gives it very different utility depending on matchups so theres actual depth to the pokemon.
0:40 I came here because I was confused about buying aegislash. But the first advice it already enough. Because I was excited about the sword, so thanks jake.
I wonder if they could balance the legendary pokemon in the game by making them give up their battle item for an item like, "hit this level, and [this] battle item evolves your pokemon to EX". That way it's at least somewhat thematically in line with legendaries becoming super strong, but they cant use eject button or full heal or the like
Sableye just has fun causing chaos. It doesn't need to win. Me on the other hand can massacre a team with a bundle of dark matter that looks like an overrated pokemon.
The "outplayed" factor in a Pursuit + Sucker Punch Absol build is *immensely satisfying*. I recommend it mainly because it'll drill into you the importance of positioning, timing, and prediction in a way few other pokemon do. Sure, those are all important things for every pokemon, but most of them give you some slack to work with. Chaining 5 Pursuits into 5 kills is one hell of a rush. As an added side benefit, every 2 move combo, while playing similarly, functions differently enough to be more or less viable vs different team comps. You'll never be useless. But yeah, Meowscarada overshadows pretty much every other speedster at the moment in terms of power.
Hey love the vid , could we get a video in this same format for complimentary Pokémon , so for each Pokémon name like 3 that work well with it and bolster it in a way , mostly for people who like to fill they may see we need a defender but don’t know which defender to pick that may compliment there carries etc the best for a given comp . My example is Wiggly is a great tank for Garde comps as with Sing holds them still and can lower SpDef with Sing allowing for some insane nukes .
Blastoise is such a good choice. Defenders are so underplayed, and he’s been broken for more seasons than I can count now and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Not to mention he’s only 8k.
I really agree about your opinion on Cramorant. I really having hard time recommend it to people cuz how odd it is. The reason I use it because I frequently use Harith in MLBB and their playstyle is really similar
Just need to buy Clefable, Gyarados, lapras, Umbreon, Tyranitar, Metagross, leafeon, candle, sylveon, goodra, trevvanant, tsareena, comfey, mimikyu, buzzwole, inteleon, dragapult, zacian, miraidon but who cares when you only spam MEW, AZUMARILL, DRAGONITE, ZOROARK, Espeed LUCARIO cause I don't like PuP
@@ameytipre9699 no money also I don't play A button pokemons that much I only play 3-4 pokemons and I am Green or Blue Badge on all of them (Mew, Zeraora, Zoroark, Espeed Lucario, Urshifu but not so much after nerf, Azumarill, Dragonite)
As a fairly new player I feel flattered you said that inteleon should be considered expert cuz I totally think the same. I love Inteleon it’s my fav to pick right now it took me a pretty long time to get used to it and working on my aim with snipe shot. I’ve gotten the hang of it down now recently and it’s just so so fun and I agree it should be considered expert you have to be very strategic and careful with it
Hii Jake! idk if you’ll see this but I was watching Pokemon’s Instagram Live showcasing the EUIC Pokemon Center and I saw you walk by! It genuinely made me jump seeing a wild spragels in the live 😂❤.
Eldegoss is the way to go if a new player is interested in learning the support role. Stay outside of melee range tossing puffs and putting up cotten guard, nothing to it!
I main Mimikyu. It's one of my all time favorite Pokémon. The only time I ever lose a match with Mimikyu is if I have really awful teammates that camp at base the entire time or just afk in general. It's just so good. Use both shadow moves and you can basically heal yourself. It's amazing. I love mons that act like speedsters or are like combos with them. I also like Pokémon that heal themselves so...
This is a really great video but I will make a bit of a case for sylveon and glaceon since they are so easy to pick up and play they make for really good early buys if you want to learn the macro of the game since your not really focusing on your moves as much
I'm an eevee lover from the main series. Especially Umbreon. Espeon and Sylveon are big in my heart too. Luckily they're pretty good in Unite. But...There's two pokemon in Unite that stole my heart despite me not having any particular attachment to them in the main serie. Wigglypuff. A singing, slapping wigglypuff is hilarious to play as. Such a bully. And Goodra. Gods I love muddy water/acid spray goodra so much. I'm in love with these two, and with how cute they are while being real menace. But yeah...most of the roster is actually really fun and enjoyable to play.
ELDEGOSS would be my 10+/10, it's easy, all movesets are viable (although Polen puff is too strong), many battle item options, many held item options. It's really hard to missplay Elde
I love clef, got her gold badge as I've played her so much but at higher ranks the impact, especially after nerfs has dropped significantly in solo q as it relies too much on damage dealing team mates. When you get bad team mates you can't get anything done as you can't effectively defend goals for any amount of time, you can't do any significant damage and if team mates can't position correctly they still die immediately and then spam thanks. I'm a lot more successful with elde the last 2 seasons, I do more damage than a lot of team mates up to 80k, I tank up to 100k and heal up to 100k. With bad team mates you still have some carry ability to make up for their inability to position and play if you use a tank/all-rounder/healer mix up build. I love chasing down and KOing attackers. Chasing delphoxs, owls and gardes across the map and KOing them is so fun. For new players she's also easy to play as a healer only if not interested in roughing up opponents if use the shield move with healing.
@@matheus_ooliv what I'd really love is for them the buff draining kiss. It's so fun to play but I'm stuck using in standard only as it's so weak in matches.
Totally agree, it all comes down to players personal likes and play style they prefer. Im an aegislash main and it really takes a lot of skill to master it. I have been to master multiple times with it. My friends complain about aegislash just cuz they couldn't get the full out of it lmao.
Love this! I agree about choosing what you like! In terms of how much fun I have, Leafeon, Pikachu and Blastoise are my top three. Then Zacian and Dragonite after them
I have all the Pokemon and if I have to choose only 1 of each category to recommend to a new player, it would be like: Supporter: Clefable (Eldegoss is better but not as easy to use) Defender: Blastoise All-Rounder: Buzzwole Attacker: Espeon Speedster: Leafeon
As someone who just got into the game, (Well I played a tiny bit at launch) and I bought Gyarados as my first pokemon. I do not agree with you that they designed Gyarados in a weird way. I think its a masterful design when it comes to representing the pokemon from the show and video game. I just love being this useless little fish in the beginning, flopping around, and then having this huge instant powerspike when I take enough damage to evolve mid fight and I can crush my opponents who thought they where in for a easy kill (pay in mind I am playing with noobs right now I understand that this wont have a surprise factor in higher level of play) It just feels like Magikarp to me, I do love Aqua Tail as well its a very fun move to use in my opinion. Altough I do agree since it plays a bit odd that it might turn off some people from playing an fan favorite pokemon.
" Once a team sees a Decidueye your just dead, because your an easy target" as a Decidueye player that is so true. Try to stay back as much as possible but hate when my teammates don't push when we have an advantage or push too much resulting in them getting nearly killed and me trying to help to only get attacked instead due to how squishy we are. but man can we do some damage when not getting attacked lol.
I love buying pokemon that look cool, are fun to play, and are a challenge to get used to in less than a week (because you'll eventually get all the trial licenses anyway). I bought Cramorant, Dodrio, Leafeon, Intelion, Dragapult, and Mimikyu in order (Trevenant or Eldegoss next, gotta build some defense/support roles 😅). I regret absolutely nothing. Cramorant got a little boring over time but it's currently high tier and its free holowear kicks ass.
This is a great and informative video. I feel like the tier list videos, while also great, paint an unrealistic picture of how the average player will actually utilize a mon. This video paints a more realistic perspective. Often people buy/play mons as more of a "prisoner of the moment" so to speak, but this breaks down how much value you'll actually get out of the money you'd need to spend to get it.
When i started this game i couldn't really find my main. I played alot of Espeon which i love and then bought Blaziken which ive been maining since. Hes really fun
18:01 ttar might not be as good as it once was, but no one can tell me that if he gets going, using a full speed built on him where he just spawns, stuns and dark pulse you out of existence is really fun.
i highly recommend agislash it is super op if you know how to play and if your team let u take center in early game. there are times when i have done 4vs 1 and still win just because i was 2 level higher.if the start is good i have done 30-32 kill..
I Almost bought all good Pokemons with only coins 54 Pokemons Only lefts are Garchomp, Azumarril, Blissey , Greedent , Goodra, comfey, wiggly, dragapult
Thank you soo much Man this was soo much helpful you can't even imagine how relieved i am Thank You very much Our Cowboy You came into clutch for me 👍❤️🔥🗿🙌
They should really increase the prizes of individual pokemons achievement, so that players will try to buy most of the pokemon and they should also add more advancements.
I just have coins cuz i dont care about the other mon, fell in love with Tsareena and i cant move away lol, got Ninetails or Espy in case someone uses her
I am still pretty new with Pokemon Unite and are still climbing ranked ladder. I really really like Pikachu. I average around 100k dmg per round. Is there another character that feels similar or a bit different?
As a hardcore tank player, looking for some fills, what would you recommend? More specifically, after learning most every tank in the game and being a great defender player, having mastered the art of positioning, and being great at knowing when and how to launch attacks to maximize hitboxes and status, what are some Pokémon from other roles that I could probably fall into the role of based on how my defenders play? For a bit of extra context, some of my favorite defenders to play are Blastoise, Crustle, Goodra, Trevenant, and Mamoswine, opting for the hinderance moveset as opposed to damage for all of them (with the exception of Goodra, because Muddy Water, despite being tankier, is actually the higher damage build).
Goodra, it's also this week's free licence so try it out before buying it. Trevenant is also very tanky and fun. Blastoise is less tanky but personally the most fun. I haven't tried Umbreon yet but it's very hard to take down. I'm gonna throw in Metagross as well, specifically the Gyro Ball build with Resonant Guard as one of the held items
@@riccardofalco I'll try out Metagross, but aside from that, I guess I wasn't clear in what I wanted. I'm already a tank player with most of these tanks and others already practiced. I'm looking for fills for other roles that fit a similar playstyle to that of a tank. Edit: I modified my original comment so it's less confusing
@@pokegamerboy17 Oh I see! Definitely Gyro Ball Metagross, possibly Aqua Tail Azumarill although I haven't tried it. Bounce Gyarados gains a shield when charged enough for decent bulk but you'll have to get through the rough Magikarp phase. You might really like Bullet Punch Scizor as it heals + boosted autos increase your defence making you really tanky
As a newbie, level 21, i actually enjoyed playing Mew, def worth the coins. Mewtwo y is good, but it lacks the charged attack, still good. Miraidon i got before it vecame available at the shop and its ok after the nerf. Zoroark is a great speedster
Mr Mime is pretty good a mr mime stunned me in a match so hard with his mirror wall Talonflame is not bad it's really great gotta say that the combination of flame charge and fly is really good to play fly is mostly used to escape while flame charge deals great damage
Picked up azumarill because I like the Pokémon and it’s become my favourite by far. Whirlpool + play rough is such a disgusting combo that I can’t help but actually laugh when I play it
Please stop saying mages are basic just because they don’t have a dash. In a lot of mobas mages have no dashes, yet their kits are above average in complexity. You don’t need mobility to be a good Pokémon. I think generally, if you have mobility, but nothing to back the mobility up, you are a bad Pokémon. Mages often have a ton of destructive power both in controll and damage, which from the clips I haven’t seen many speedsters have. Generally the is a balance works like this, if you outrange someone and they can’t close the gap you win, if you are the same range as someone and you win the stackcheck (this can have cc tankyness and damage all involved) you win, if you can close the gap, but you don’t have damage and or cc to back it up, you generally lose. There is good defensive tools in this game, like enchanters and tanks that have incredibly high amounts of cc, where a speedster in usually hard struggling, if a team becomes more coordinated.
I can't use him but I like Mr mime because I have lost count of the number of times it saved us from losing a ranked match people who can use him are very gifted
Thank you!!!! I asked for this like a week or two ago. I wanted gengar for a long time but wasnt sure of his consistency. Mime is a pain to go against but not for me. Im also kinda waiting for the new mons(ceruledge, failinks).
Funny cause I remember the first pokemon I bought was Zoroark. Loved the playstyle I got a free 24hr ticket and fell in love with him and then I bought mimikyu
I main space suit Gengar since the beginning and he’s a beast you can have an extremely sneaky place style and he’s an incredible sweeper but you have to be a seasoned player because he’s a glass cannon and if you don’t go in properly you will get taken out fast.
As a Metagross and Aegislash player, I admit that they're not for everyone, but if you like the gameplay, you'll have lots of fun and a great win rate!
Well, uh.. I missed a day with Garchomp like a sucker, but I guess I didn't lose much from it...?? Other than collecting Cynthia's costume, there's more missions with him
Metagross makes me sad, because it is easily one of my top five favorite mons of all time in the actual games, but I don't like the play style for unite.
Used to have an account where i got many fre pokemon but sadly, I messed up the birthday of it so i can't log in to it, but definitely love starting over again cuz i can plan more the upg, saving and beter experience from last time.
All i really care about is whether its fun or not like my main mon for jungler is outrage dragonite because its fun and non jungler is petal blizard sludge bomb venasaur because i think its fun also
As a speedster user on heavy, I absolutely love leafeon and Zoroark. But i will say unless you are willing to put heavy time on getting the skills to use Zoroark down and you arent willing to not jump in to help teamates so you yourself can level up at the beginning. Please. Do NOT get it. You would be doing your teammates a favor (i mean this in the kindest way)
I was so excited about mew when i just started playing unite. Now my rank reached master, it’s getting difficult to play mew again coz my skill just so so in this game😅
Really bad timing on my part watching this after I JUST bought Gengar. But hey, I'm in a low enough elo that every time I play I get the highest score and as much kills and damage as the rest of my team combined. But also I wish I knew I could've gotten dragapult for free, it was the first one I bought

Edit: as for your final question: i wouldnt really say i disagree with your rating of it, it is a basic mage with no mobility and no real gimmicks, very true but I think its worth pointing out that if that is exactly what someone is looking for, chandelure is by far the most fun "basic" mage, and also the most versatile.
That way it's at least somewhat thematically in line with legendaries becoming super strong, but they cant use eject button or full heal or the like
"there isnt a single pokemon on the roster, specially in a solo environment, that you cant win games with"
sableye player: watch me
Comfey too.
25:00 For Talonflame, i usually go with a flame charge/brave bird set up. Flame Charge is also very good for dodging attacks. Hope this helped anyone!
"You're mileage will vary." because cars... I think Mime could be higher since barrier is pretty simple but power swap is a weird build.
My example is Wiggly is a great tank for Garde comps as with Sing holds them still and can lower SpDef with Sing allowing for some insane nukes .
fun idea!
Espeon is so goated but I really hope they add Jirachi as an support or attacker
5:50 was that a rammus reference for Wigglytuff because that's hilarious.
Just need to buy Clefable, Gyarados, lapras, Umbreon, Tyranitar, Metagross, leafeon, candle, sylveon, goodra, trevvanant, tsareena, comfey, mimikyu, buzzwole, inteleon, dragapult, zacian, miraidon but who cares when you only spam MEW, AZUMARILL, DRAGONITE, ZOROARK, Espeed LUCARIO cause I don't like PuP
Wdym u haven't tried Dragapult? He literally cindi + sableve try him asap
22:14 i love speedsters leafeon i used all the tutorial coins for it i loved it as a speed enjoyer
As a fairly new player I feel flattered you said that inteleon should be considered expert cuz I totally think the same. I love Inteleon it’s my fav to pick right now it took me a pretty long time to get used to it and working on my aim with snipe shot. I’ve gotten the hang of it down now recently and it’s just so so fun and I agree it should be considered expert you have to be very strategic and careful with it
i love inteleon too❤️
Hii Jake! idk if you’ll see this but I was watching Pokemon’s Instagram Live showcasing the EUIC Pokemon Center and I saw you walk by! It genuinely made me jump seeing a wild spragels in the live 😂❤.
So cool!
Eldegoss is the way to go if a new player is interested in learning the support role. Stay outside of melee range tossing puffs and putting up cotten guard, nothing to it!
You should make a video explaining role compression/how to play each Pokémon in situations like during a ray fight based on class/role
This is a really great video but I will make a bit of a case for sylveon and glaceon since they are so easy to pick up and play they make for really good early buys if you want to learn the macro of the game since your not really focusing on your moves as much
Oh, absolutely! I bought sylveon very early, and it really helped me understand the game better :]
I used to love Cleffable but the nerfs ruined it. Everytime I chose her my team loses, its like a 5 x 4 fight.
Then Zacian and Dragonite after them
I have something bad I can say about blastoise.... NO SQUIRTLE SQUAD SUNGLASSES
that holo
I like how Blissey's unite move is a friendly fire tactical nuke.
I have all the Pokemon and if I have to choose only 1 of each category to recommend to a new player, it would be like:
Supporter: Clefable (Eldegoss is better but not as easy to use)
Defender: Blastoise
All-Rounder: Buzzwole
Attacker: Espeon
Speedster: Leafeon
As someone who just got into the game, (Well I played a tiny bit at launch) and I bought Gyarados as my first pokemon. I do not agree with you that they designed Gyarados in a weird way.
I think its a masterful design when it comes to representing the pokemon from the show and video game. I just love being this useless little fish in the beginning, flopping around, and then having this huge instant powerspike when I take enough damage to evolve mid fight and I can crush my opponents who thought they where in for a easy kill (pay in mind I am playing with noobs right now I understand that this wont have a surprise factor in higher level of play)
It just feels like Magikarp to me, I do love Aqua Tail as well its a very fun move to use in my opinion.
I mained wigglytuff, slowbro in season 1 to master rank before blastoise arrived all 3 are still fairly good
This is a great and informative video.
Dang I played Lucario when I first started even though he's out dated now but it won't stop me from using my favorite pokemon ❤
i highly recommend agislash
it is super op if you know how to play and if your team let u take center in early game.
there are times when i have done 4vs 1 and still win just because i was 2 level higher.if the start is good i have done 30-32 kill..
9:34 how to do combos with scisor:
You do a WATCHA and then a WATCHA and then a WATCHA CHA CHA CHA!!!!
I Almost bought all good Pokemons with only coins 54 Pokemons
Only lefts are Garchomp, Azumarril, Blissey , Greedent , Goodra, comfey, wiggly, dragapult
Isn’t garchomp free
@@Arctorias I think it is free now but only if you start a new account. Any accounts made before that change have to buy him
Thank you soo much Man this was soo much helpful you can't even imagine how relieved i am Thank You very much Our Cowboy You came into clutch for me 👍❤️🔥🗿🙌
I have them all! Time of posting.
Love it
I have all but mimikyu bc I didn't play well with it with the timed license
oof. I have most of them but at least half I just wish I could get a refund for. You really took the "catch 'em all" part to heart!
I wish you had said more about Greninja. I love it since day one!
Bro i am a Gengar master And play 1500+ matches and Its really Good but you know how to play with Gengar and Gengar is one short really Good ❤️❤️❤️
I'm an f2p player and I'm currently on my way to buying all the defenders :D only Goodra and Snorlax left
Honestly what i do is go to jake’s latest tier list, drop a like on it if its not already and buy whatever is s/a+ tier . Works quite fine for me
As a newbie, level 21, i actually enjoyed playing Mew, def worth the coins. Mewtwo y is good, but it lacks the charged attack, still good. Miraidon i got before it vecame available at the shop and its ok after the nerf. Zoroark is a great speedster
Mew is hard man
@@anuradharanjan5801 he is, but with what he has, he's kinda op.
Mr Mime is pretty good a mr mime stunned me in a match so hard with his mirror wall
Talonflame is not bad it's really great gotta say that the combination of flame charge and fly is really good to play fly is mostly used to escape while flame charge deals great damage
Jake should I buy the anditode or Duraludon
This video was really awaited....well atleast by me, thanks man for this one❤
Im a mew main what Pokemon do you recommend im mostly mage type
I can't use him but I like Mr mime because I have lost count of the number of times it saved us from losing a ranked match people who can use him are very gifted
I bet this video came out after the release, but. How would you exactly rank and say Falinks is to get? It odes have a unique gimmick after all.
Thank you!!!! I asked for this like a week or two ago. I wanted gengar for a long time but wasnt sure of his consistency. Mime is a pain to go against but not for me. Im also kinda waiting for the new mons(ceruledge, failinks).
Me who plays my eeveelutions for fun and they are all strong: "I see this as an absolute win"
Honestly, we all the Nissan ultima is the pick, right?
Other than collecting Cynthia's costume, there's more missions with him
Also to add talonflame, eldegos, charazard and snorlax are all offered for free to pick one
What were the 10 out of 10 to buy? Felt like everything was 7 or under. I do recall him saying 8 for one of them.
Playing mons like Garde, Chande or Decidueye does make you appreciate more mobile ones as well as almost forcing you to learn positioning in matches.
Lmao you did my dura boy rough!! I love heeem!!! I have a rough win rate over rall tbh. But with dura alone its 53% 😅😅
I even have his pink coat 😅
What should I pick a goodra or a buzzwole
All i really care about is whether its fun or not like my main mon for jungler is outrage dragonite because its fun and non jungler is petal blizard sludge bomb venasaur because i think its fun also
Picked up metagross last night and I have had a blast playing it
As a speedster user on heavy, I absolutely love leafeon and Zoroark. But i will say unless you are willing to put heavy time on getting the skills to use Zoroark down and you arent willing to not jump in to help teamates so you yourself can level up at the beginning. Please. Do NOT get it. You would be doing your teammates a favor (i mean this in the kindest way)
No love for Ford focus?
I get 10 kills minimum with blaziken every match with the setup you uploaded. Its mint 👌
He still waiting for Buzzwole nerf when you can counter him 😅
Just what I needed after installing unite again. thanks spragels
I'm in the market for a new Pokemon. Thanks for the purchase advice content!
I love sword. Aegislash is great but very underrated
Yup, takes a lot of skills to master
i always loved inteleon in general so i do in unite..it's simple for me
How are we not able to unlock a shiny skin with some sort of mystery that must be free
Gyarados is so fun once you get the hang of it
Are you going to host aeos cup Jake ?
You and doobsnax is my favourite
