@@saravanants if the service center says such part don't exist go to the Authorised Maruthi Auto Spares Shop and get the bush, because the service center may ask you to change the entire gear cable to make some money.

Hi Bhavik, Glad to be of help. The price of rubber bush was Indian Rupees.5, and I found the right size in a motorcycle shop. I have also now added a steel binding wire so that the rubber bush does not come out when using. However for safety reasons, I do recommend that you find a long term solution if the cable has gone bad.
Hey am from the Bahamas I have a 2008 Suzuki swift Japanese model my gear box went bad am having problem finding one my friend give me a Suzuki swift 2006 sport it's also manual transmission my question do no if that gear box out the 2006 will work in the 2008 I need to fine out before i go through all of that trouble by takeing it out and it does not fit
I am not sure, and I am not actually any expert on car mechanics. It is better to consult your local car mechanic in Bahamas - I normally consult at least 3 different mechanics before I decide anything - most mechanics have opinions than looking at actual problem. After consulting 3 different mechanic shops I recommend you to take a decision. Also, the models sold in India and Bahamas may be different in spec - so you must be careful with advice you get from international models.

There is a rubber bush which is around 20Rs .. you can buy from Maruthi service centre use that..
R R thanks, this would be the safest way to use. Maruti service center didn’t tell me. I’ll check with them when I meet next.

R R you are right. They always asked me to change full cable. I was ready to change, but they did not have stock, so I had to resort to this hack.

yes, the internal hole of the bush is 8mm, which seems to snugly fit into the rod-end.
