Think about that for a second. He was 14 years old. It took a few more years for him to finish the lyrics He was 16-17 years old then. That is just astonishing. He was a prodigy.
And it's not just random words and a chorus. It has *meaning*.

Believe it or not, Steven Tyler was influenced by listening to his father playing classical music at the age of three, regarding the chord progression, and he wrote the lyrics to ‘Dream On’ at the age of 14. The man is a genius!

This is the first time I have listened to Steven Tyler since 2 or 3 years ago, when he was invited to sing our National Anthem at the start of a ball game. I felt a bit sorry for him, because he really sang very badly. I could not tell if in this performance he was using autotune or not, but I kind of suspect he did. Like me, Steven is getting older, and things tend to quit working so well. This song did sound good though, and I like it. Bravo dear Lucia, for selecting this one. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed.

he sang pretty bad yes, but 2012 and 2013 were bad years for steven tyler's voice. he was better in 2015-2018. and in february of 2020 he sang pretty good what it takes, a very difficult song. i hope we have steven tyler for some years
