NICE JOB, finally , a project that makes total since.

Very nice! I like the sliding idea better than "swinging" the arrow into the blade.

It makes so much more sense to have the Dremel slide. Nice jeorb.

This is the one. You and your dad are like Dan and Guy Team Fitzgerald getting it done. The concept is direct and able to replicate with minimal cost on materials. I intend to follow this design and saving on an absurd $3 per hour arrow charge I recently received.

To avoid tear out and damaging the arrow shaft, maybe have the fence longer so the cutting disc cuts in to a sacrificial portion which will support the arrow all the way through.

Bro, you did the right way. That jig works perfect! It could use a tad bit of work on the end, but it is a nice setup

Bar far the best design so far - I would just screw the back end - or a bolt thru a siding slot. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for watching! And thanks for the input, I’ve thought about some different ways to have the back plate adjustable. Please subscribe to the channel we love our followers.

You have to rotate the arrow while cutting it. It’s carbon. If you don’t spin the arrow it can crack. Safety first

Haven’t had one crack yet, been doing this for years. Multiple ways to skin a cat they say.

A small simple improvement would be a C clamp or some such, to hold that piece of wood at the nock end from moving.

I eyeball it never had a problem. Inserts are square

      Do you shoot mechanical broadheads?

    • @MrMark1325
      @MrMark1325 Рік тому +1

@CarolinaOutdoors I've shot both. If I end up with a small gap around the insert I just fill it with glue.

@@MrMark1325 yeah fixed blades are a little more difficult to deal with if it’s not as square but in some cases it won’t matter. I just try to have it square cause I want it it clean as possible. Doesn’t make it right or wrong but just how I like to do it

A great idea, but I would make a polycarbonate guard over the disk just in case the disk shatters.
Even if you are wearing safety goggles, the shrapnel from a shattered disk could do your body some serious or even dangerous damage.

    • @EremosOutdoors

That’s a good idea, I’ll look into adding one just for the extra safety. Thanks!
