I am Debra's daughter, and I have many tapes and a couple of reels of her music. There is many beautiful songs. There is also others with some of her recordings. I would like to put a record together. It's just where to start.
I am SO sad to read this news in the comments that your mum.has gone. My sincere condolences. From the first time I saw this clip years ago on TV here in the UK with an interview with Jack Clements, I searched for any info I could find about your mum.and her music but to no avail. Unique voice - haunting. 😢
She's good...very good. But on this tune, she does sound a lot like the late Nanci Griffith. But she's so good, I'll buy some of her music and put it right alongside Nanci. They belong together. RIP Debra.
I wrote to Debra some years ago as I loved this song, having heard it on the John Prines Town and Country which was aired on Irish TV. She sent me three home recorded cds of her songs. Is there any update on Debra
@@paulfavour7790 Thanks for the update Paul, she told me that Cowboy Jack had all her recordings and that they would hardly ever be used. I am so lucky to have 3 CD home made , which Debra sent to me years ago.
This is so very special, i can't find out much about this singer at all, she is special !! Ps my first ever comment on you tube that's how special Debra is!!
I'm not entirely sure, but the guitarist looks a little like the Bluegrass monster that is Bryan Sutton from Asheville NC, but I'm so glad to see this song again, it has been a long time, and I looked for ages trying to find it, but never got her name spelled correctly, any idea what happened to her? I found another link to a Grave finding website and it seems like it could be her, but the first name is spelled in the more traditional way, how many Debra De Kelaitas could there be? Here is the link to it billiongraves.com/grave/Deborah-De-Kelaita-Choate/10643766
My god I haven’t seen this in years. Thanks for posting. Saw it on a John Prine tv show from a series of his. Might have been called Town & Country maybe ? Anyway, Great song.

Debra passed away a couple of weeks ago. There will be no replacing her. She was so unique; such a rare voice.

@@JoeCashin That's a great story. You might consider putting them up for people to hear. I think a lot of people would be interested. I would.

Dzieki za informację. Na temat Debory DeKalejte szykam informacji dotychczas bezskutecznie. Interesuje mnie jej twórczość artystyczna.
