How do Mangrove trees SURVIVE?

I love Mangrove trees! They are super important to many ecosystems in the ocean and on land. They also sequester carbon from our atmosphere! So lets do our part to protect these amazing species of tree!

Do like the ancient Aztecs did with their large lake Texcoco and turn Tulare Lake and the Salton Sea back into a new fresh water lake. Start with pumping several small pools of water to separate the salt and other toxicants from the fresh water and lake based floating islands filled with green mangrove trees and plants, corn, tomatoes, squash and vegetables. Additionally build a series of dikes, lakes, river canals and dams to capture the rainwater, use floating mangrove trees and plants to filter and separate out the toxic salts and oils. Eventually over time and with help from the floating island mangroves trees, migrating birds and crop islands you can pull out the toxics and salts and what remains is fresh water and also grow tilapias and Salamanders. If the Aztecs can do this almost 1000 years ago, we can also do it again, minus all the Aztec human sacrifices.

You can legally own a mangrove tree! I have some red mangroves at home, and I would love to get some more species (legally) of course. Like you I love these tree's as well mine are growing in fresh water though.
