I'm a 65 year old retired black man. And I cannot stop watching "The Middle". I'm a sitcom junkie . And I rank this as one of the top ten sitcoms of all time . And I go back to " I love Lucy " and the Dick Van dyke show .
I have watched The Middle series more than I want to say. I never recognized any of the places that were changed over the seasons. This was really neat to watch how they transform each place. Also, the Barber Shop was in the episode that Sue made Mike a birthday video and she interviewed his barber. Great video!
I LOVE The Middle....so funny!
Same! I have to watch again now!
Thanks for this Chip. I have an unhealthy obsession with 'The Middle' and this was a real treat. Stay Well.
Me too! Haha
Agree! Love and love and love The Middle! All my love from Brazil
This was great! I can’t believe all this is gone. Very sad
I took a tour in 2015. Happened to meet the executive producer of my favorite show....the Middle and was invited by her. Wonderful memories! And I am SO glad I have many pictures and video. I was so lucky to see this backlot considering today ...it is all destroyed.
Great video! 💪♥️
You should make a UA-cam video about that? We would like to see it it would be fun.
My gosh, I miss that show.
_The Middle_ was super fun and too good a show for the whole family.
I mean, I always knew every show was pretty much filmed in California but I had no idea they had a “ranch” where they interchange sets and stuff. This is insane.
This is one of the best tours of the ranch I've seen, thanks for uploading and showing comparisons.
I loved The Middle from day one 😍
All looks so real but all a set. amazing
I never missed an episode of the Middle and never realized all these other house from shows I’ve watched were in it or used for it, especially the Bewitched house. It’s amazing how subtle little changes can make a big difference, especially with our short memory and attention spans. I’ve caught a few things over the years but not many.
I’ve watched so many videos of the Ranch but this one was my favorite. It’s sad that this is all gone now with no regard to the history… just knocked it all down like nothing ever happened there!
They knocked it down? 😭
Wow! Great video! The Middle was a great show that ran just long enough. This video showed me amazing things I had never seen before. Chip did excellent work here!
The former Columbia Ranch. I love the Screen Gems shows. It's sad all those facades are being torn down.
It is not surprising that if you watch Bewitched, you can see how this place changed over the years due to fires and whatnot, and starting not to look good,
It's sad that all those houses are gone now.
hahhahaha "houses" That's HolLyweiRd for ya .. Don't be said if they need them again they will always rebuild.
Thank you! My favorite show ever that I still watch daily on Peacock! I'm just going to keep pretending that it's a real neighborhood, especially being from the midwest. Rita Glossner is the best 😂 "I don't see you buying me a drink, eyes up here"
Love the Middle, great to see the different house clips. Funny brilliant series 🙂
The show should have ended with Mike and Frankie divorcing. He deserved better than her
I LOVE The Middle. I'm so stoked it's on HBO Go right now & have been re-watching it lately. I never considered the amount of work that goes in to something like the Glossner's trashy home until I saw the clips of the house as it normally is versus when they were shooting it for the Middle.
It's gone now. Wb flattened the ranch :-(
Woooowww i thought all was real in the set! Great Job! We love this show and we always watch here in Australia everyday at Channel 10Shake.. great show! Thanks for the info
This video is possibly one of the coolest videos I’ve ever seen in my life
I miss so munch the Heck Family. 😥
Behind the Heck's car, I think that is Sue's car she got from Aunt Edie!!! Great video!! I've rewatched it like 10 times just to pause and reflect on everything!!! Thank you!!!!!!
This is really cool and trippy to learn about. I never really thought much about how TV shows are filmed, but I love how creative they get
Wonderful video. Still so very sad this backlot will soon be leveled for 6 new studio buildings. Things change, I know. It has to. But still sad.
Thank you for this tour. An iconic studio back lot and its heartbreaking that they've torn it all down.
Wow this was such a great video! Thank you! I watch The Middle every night!!!! It was such a great show!
Awesome! Thanks for that! The middle is the best sitcom ever
I miss the reruns
Very thankful for this video! The middle is my favorite show ever!
Rip the WB ranch
Project X was also filmed at this particular location.
So much TV and Movie History
Definitely unfortunate it will be all gone.
Home Improvement, number 280 Blue Shutters across from The Middle House, is the house that Tim blew up.
Project X house across from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation house.
It would be cool to build an actual neighbourhood, that look like this movie sett neighbourhood, but have them all real houses.
Then get them declared a national landmark so nothing can be changed.
I love behind the scenes stuff like this.
Great Documentary Chip! Well Done!!
A few corrections though, Some names of the structures have changed, such as The Bel-Aire house is now officially called The Heck house. The Lethal Weapon house is officially called The Lindsay house, named after Edward G. Robinson's character who first 'lived' there in the 1938 film, I am the Law. The Partridge Family house burned once completely and once was severely damaged in 1970 but was rebuilt (slightly altered) but remained the same until Scarecrow & Mrs. King in 1981. It was remodeled for it but after the show ended, the structure was briefly put back to pre 1981. It was not till Life Goes On, that is stayed in its current form!
The 'picture car' storage was actually where Colonial street was, and where most of the San-Tanco scenes for The Flying Nun were filmed, as well as many other shows and movies. Stage 31 is now called Stage 31A, but was originally Stage 30 and where many of the TV shows, Like the Partridge Family, filmed their interior Sets.
Thank you for this tour !!!
Wow! This was the best tour I have ever seen. Thank you 🙏
Wowwwww, this is SOOO informative. I enjoyed absolutely all of this, there were so many things I didn't know.
ty so much. very interesting. I love and miss that show so much
This was fantastic!! Thank you.
Thanks for the tour! Very good video! I love The Middle, I watch it always!
Thank you. Really enjoyed it.
As a Heck (actually a Heck) and from central Indiana…still floored to this day when asked if I’d ever knew about this show or if I was related (true story)😂. I was a huge fan
Thank you this was great! I always liked the Heck's house inside and out but always knew the interior didn't match the look outside! Thank you again for showing "the real" of sets that we see on TV.
I loved that show.
this was a cool watch ive never picked that up except the backyard
This is awesome! Thanks!
This is insanely creative ❤
TV, GUID, about the middle, the best TV series on TV that nobody's watching,
Great show, 😆
3:30 the pool was also used as the pool in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
The Bewitched house is seen many times in The Middle and is easily recognizable. I knew the Partridge house was close but had no idea it was that close.
Great job!
The Skeffington house is so named for the central character in the 1958 film "The Last Hurrah" with Spencer Tracy as Mayor Frank Skeffington.
Gidget, I Dream of Jeannie, Dennis the Menace . . . these houses were used in so many movies and TV series. All scheduled for demolition.
SAD!
So sad to see such a place go.
Every time I see the gas station it reminds me of the grocery store in the movie The Mist.
You mentioned the Skeffington House. Was it originally built to serve as the house Bette Davis and Claude Rains had in the great film, Mr. Skeffington
The house and Boston Row were both constructed for the 1958 film "The Last Hurrah," featuring Spency Tracy as Frank Skeffington.
Wow very interesting post - thanks :)
Привет из Краснодара! Я, наверно, самый большой фанат The Middl, в лакализации "Бывает и хуже". Спасибо за видео, в русскоязычном сегменте Ютьюб нет видео об этом сериале.
Thanks!
Sad it's all gone
I lookedover that some houses looked the same as there a good amount houses where I live in different arias. Yet it dose make sense what the show did
I thought it was not a back porch but a lanai, there was an episode about it
Awesome
this is insane
Just watched a Starsky and Hutch episode 11 from Season 4, Cover Girl. I'm fairly certain the house of his ex-girlfriend, the cover girl in the title, is a previous version of the Heck's house as the house in the background looks like the Bewitched house.
Has anyone been there to try and grab a souvenir
Unfortunately, the middle set has been taken down permanently.
Warner Bros Ranch look like it going to Demolition for new flim studio
I hope someone or some Studio like Universal got the Bewitched house they can rebuild it on their lot that should be historical monument,
The barber shop could have been used when sue made a movie for mike and she interviewed the barber
So if the Warner Bros. ranch is not TOURABLE, how are there so many people that get to make videos on it? This guy and a whole lot of others?
I wonder if the Skeffington house was used for the 5th season of Hazel.
I thought there would have been more exciting shows and movies shot there. Lethal Weapon and Vacation were like the 2 big movies. Then they had old shows.... The Waltons, Bewitched.... not much else went on there it seems. I thought there would have been more. Still cool to tour.
❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
OMG!!! Ive never even heard of this show!!! Was it network or streamed?
BTW, here in 6-23 Ive heard all of this is being torn down and replaced with sound stages.
It’s one of the best sitcoms ever ….. I watch it all the time, still, on Peacock…. 🤗🤗
The best sitcom ever made. The middle
It was on for 9 seasons, need to watch it, wait tell you watch Sue, by far the funniest teen girl ever to put on TV,
It is on both Peacock and Max.
It finally happened in October 2023. The fire department practiced on the homes before they were completely demolished. 😢
Its gone now they tore it all down.. sad sad sad
Is it possible to get to these places??? please respond i am not from USA and i will visit LA this summer and i wanna so much visit this The Middle places…
Sorry, but the Warner Ranch backlot is not open to the public.
@@michaelp.Watermaker ok :((
It's all been torn down as of October 2023, even the trees. They're going to build offices and other buildings . 😢
@@cynthiam976 😭😭😭
Middle seagul moved left for the satellite went behind it and the chief Ariel found nothing and now left exposed lol while the other seagul was looking down the chief for Santa clause lol plan backfired?
what is the city name?
Malcom in the middle?
All of this to be denolished now. June 2023.
Wait, "Chip Wood"?
They got rid of that fountain probably ten seconds after you took this video as it’s not even on the satellite maps anymore.
Such a shame they’re removing such iconic history.
Typical Hollywood I guess.
They did Save the fountain. They moved it to the original Warner Brothers property. It's the only thing they saved.
Unfortunately all of the lot was leveled and nothing was left. They are going to put up office buildings
all is gone now
Now put yourself in the actor's shoes. You will be shooting takes out of order for what will be edited as one scene later. You move from interior stage set to an exterior and back again. Now remember the exact emotion you expressed whenever a specific scene was shot.
Adam The Woo doesn't hold a candle to your wonderful detail.
It all gone, Warners Bros razed them to the ground for stupid office building and studios
Too bad they tore them all down.
tenk you.good explaint
