Thank you for your historical perspective on the back lot. The studios were like working machines, almost everything they needed were right there, no location work and all the technicians were right there.
I was fortunate enough to go onto the Warner Bros. Ranch Facilities a month before they tore it down. You could see how they were preparing for the teardown which was so sad.
Of all the backlot videos on UA-cam, this is the most thoroughly researched with comprehensive views of all sides of the stationary exterior sets. Hopefully this creator will provide more material on the numerous backlots in the Thirty Mile Zone.
Thanks for another look at the Heck house. I studied the backgrounds of the scenes and then find out exactly where they were shot on the ranch by looking at google maps. Thank you again.
That whole lot is completely leveled now. There’s literally nothing left. Such an absolute shame. So much history. The Omega Man, Christmas Vacation, the Lethal Weapon series, Gremlins... Oh well, it all prolly would’ve been lost in these fires anyway.
I know it wasn't original, why did they not keep the Bewitched house intact and move it to Warner Bros, or maybe Universal studios, its a freaking LAND MARK. Probably the most famous house in all of T.V.,
@ 0:56. Don’t not quote me, but I have a feeling that, the olde Mexican/South American building may have been a back drop for a Get Smart episode in which he and 99 went to a Sth American country and several scenes were in a ‘square’ of a town looking like that.
People need to stop throwing AI around like it's responsible for all tech right now... 😏....The VR wall which is used a lot right now is actually very realistic and not everything is used with that. We get more location shots and variety today. The old Warner's lot was cool but it outlived its usefulness.
@@RS-jt6uk Yes, America, being such a young country doesn't have much history compared to Europe, but one aspect about the USA is how our tv shows and movies are seen throughout the world. No other nation can make this claim. This is a strong argument ad to why this lot should have been preserved.
@mouchiecat1 that they're (Hollywood) is too stupid to hold any ounce of historic value after all these iconic films were made. It's the same crap they're doing here in Vegas where they are tearing down anything that may have an ounce of preservation just to put the latest and greatest for the quickest gain possible
@@highlymedicated2438these comments are ridiculously funny. The ‘originals’ were put up the same way. How often do people stay at the old places if they can avoid them? They’re ’historical’
It would be cool to live in an actual. Exact replica of this entire street having partridge family one side and a family called Steven’s who’s wife was an actual witch and a doctor called Marcus Welby. lol.

How did you get to? It’s not open to the general public, so did you know somebody or something?
Yes! Finally someone showed this area! My husband and I research a lot of history on this lot. Thank you for showing this.
Such a wonderful and well researched video, thank you sir!

Atticus Schaefer did a great behind the scenes tour.
I can not believe that they just demolished the *Bewitched* house.....an ICON, I am traumatized, they should have had it moved or preserved somewhere.

Thank you so much for this!
Fantastic video! Thank you for doing this!
That was well done and fun to experience.

I drove around the lot today. Craines in place building up the stages and other buildings.
I heard that all of the progress on the new sound stages was put on hold for whatever reason?
Where was Beavers house?
They just tore down history.
Why not mention of protect x they used that house with the pool best party film ever
Great history investigation!
These sets are just like Hollywood- it all looks impressive but both are nothing but fake facades…
Very well-done. It's awful what they did to the ranch, especially the Bewitched house. No respect for its history.
🎉
and now everything will be and already is made with dumb, ugly , lifeless AI and green screen

Keep in mind with sound stages they have full control of the environment so they can actually build real sets inside of them.
The backlot should have been preserved as a place for tours. It had a lot of rich history made over 89 years.
@@Darkk6969 Nope. Land is at a premium and they have simply run out of room. They need the studio space..

Too bad pieces of television history were destroyed.
And films as well !!!
Really sad they destroyed that iconic set.
and funny.
@ funny? Explain

It’s a business. The buildings are sets. It’s all pretend. Why is this a ‘sad’ thing? Seek help
