@@sunbeamfabricart I wish I could tell you what a wonderful impact you have had on my quilting life. I am finally getting with your instruction ... you have no idea how unrealistic I have been and how much more freedom you have given me. Words fail me, but just know that I truly appreciate your videos and my quilting life has been improved by your influence.
Do you like pre-cuts more? Use up the ones that are "ugly"? You can cut Fq's down into a 10" and a 5" strip, and use them for matching charm packs ×4 and layer cakes ×2. To make bigger quilts or baby quilts, or leave them in strips until you can cut 2× from the 5" or 4× half jelly roll strips from the10". You can get a lot of mini charms from either, or just make your own kits up for later. Add a pattern or write a note to self, what is in there, and off cuts? a bit of accent maybe the backing...? Put it in a zip lock? You can use basic colours in similar ways too. Just not having to start from fq's all the time can be quicker, later on? Aussie fq's or any from meterage are more like 18 x 22", so you can get a half Jelly roll, as well, sometimes it's 3" wide. 10 1/2" squares will give you 9 × 3 1/2". Have you got things to try? Do what works out for you. Those tiny scrap strips can frame a smallish block with as little as 1" (1/2" finished), wide to bump up the size. Whatever you decide, have fun! If you cut the selvedge off first, use it to tie up your packs? Try potato chip blocks, try web piecing, quilt as you go, make fabric to make into gifts? A bowl cosy, works for cold stuff too, a pillow and a rug?
I love precuts and using up my scraps! Here are some of my favorites! I even did a quilt with mini charm packs (link at the end). Bonjour Annette. Une bonne idée cette façon de raccorder les blocs, l’effet est surprenant et réussi ! Maintenant je me demande comment vous allez terminer cet ouvrage ? A bientôt. Régine 🇫🇷🙋🏻♀️
Merci Regine! 💙 Je pense ❓ que je vais réessayer avec des couleurs différentes pour voir le résultat. 💠 Pour terminer ce quilt, j'utiliserai probablement des lignes unies d'un point ondulé. ~~~~~~~~ A bientôt. ☀️💛 ~ Annette
I definitely need to shop my stash! Hubby weighed my scraps the other day and including the basket was 14.9 pounds. I keep making scrap quilts, but it keeps multiplying overnight somehow!
Back in the day when I learned to sew, we pressed all our seams open, then took a pin to line up the seams, sewed over the pin to make sure the seams stayed lined up. To this day, I still do that. I did try the nesting technique, but found it didn't really work for me.
Love this quilt top! I really like the way you show us what you are doing while explaining. Very clear and understandable!
Thank you so much, Sherry! I'm so glad you found it helpful! 😊☀️
❤ this block. Thanks

WOW...makes a very eye-catching pattern. Thank you, Annette; you are a very good instructor.
Thank you so much Olivia! ☀️. I really appreciate your support! 💙💙💙

I've got a scrap problem too! 😜. I have been saving since my Scrap Bolt 2 video. I should weigh mine and see! 🤣💙

Good morning. looked simple but it wasn’t. Congratulations great work. Enjoy your weekend.
Good morning, Linda! ☕️💛. Thank you so much, and you have a great weekend too! ☀️

Thanks for that info, Cathy! That method is pretty common, and it works just as well! 💛💛💛
A beautiful quilt! ⭐️ I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who, while doing something, realises that there’s a much simpler way to do it! 😂 Deb x 🤗
Hi Deb! 💛 Thanks for commiserating with me! 🤣🤣🤣 So glad to see you today! 🧵
