I'm always impressed by how you keep your rows together. For some reason I struggle with that! Thanks for showing the curved piecing. Some day I will try it!
Thanks for watching, Annette! ☀️ I definitely put rows together incorrectly sometimes! The clips on the left most block helps me most, 1 clip for row 1, etc... I've tried some other ways, but that way works with my brain. If I had room for a design wall that would be best, but I don't. 💛🤣💛
@sunbeamfabricart I put some velcro strips on my Ikea bookcase and on the back of an old flannel backed tablecloth I found in my basement. Works good enough for now! I usually used a post-it and pin on the left block with a handwritten number, but seeing how you did yours I improvised. I have some really big clips , about 3 inches long, from GE Designs. I don't use them much so after watching your video this morning, I took a sharpie and wrote numbers on them to use on my left block of each row. We'll see how that works! Thanks for your comments and videos!
😃😃😃 so I watched as this lady sews the curved without pins and I get it - a lititle long at the beginning and end and then squaring up!! Just using the curve template! I’m definitely going to give this a try - and without pins!
Another Beauty! Curves, yikes you are one brave gal. I did a cheater one where you chose a background and put a circle in the middle appliqued it down and then sliced up the middle and from side to side and then re-arranged those pieces, you have the best ideas.
A bientôt.
~ Annette ☀️☮️
Thank you for your incredibly quick response! I have several different drunkard’s lath template sets and I’m going to go back and take a look at which size you used for these layer cakes (I love layer cakes!!) - but I’m guessing it doesn’t really matter - love the colors and the pattern. Sometimes my best intentions take a long trip so I try to take a picture of what I’m working on as I don’t have a space where I can leave it laying out for any length of time.
You're very welcome! ☀️ You are so smart to take a picture! 🌻. The template I have is from Missouri Star Quilt Company. They have a large & a small version. I used the large for this one: www.missouriquiltco.com/search?q=drunkard%27s%20path
I’ve never used a walking foot when sewing a Drunkard’s Path block - I was taught to put the “smile” on top (outer curve), then I pin at the corners and exact middle and add pins wherever needed. I’ve never done😂 it without pins and am scared to even try!!! I need to watch the rest of the video as usually the outer curve is cut using a second template!
@@sandybruce9092 That's exactly right! ☀🧵 There are 2 parts to the template. I wanted to show folks they did not have to have that template to sew curves! Anyone can do it! The template will, of course, eliminate some of the waste, but it can be fun even if you don't have that. 💛💛💛
Beautiful quilt !! I have always feared this block, but your instructions were very clear . Can you what fabric you used for the backing? Thanks for sharing.
The stitching really makes the colors pop. Great job.
Thanks so much! 💛💛💛
Love your process on this curve quilt. Beautifully done!
Thank you so much! ☀️💛☀️

I feel your pain!

Beautiful - ❤ I love sewing curves for a change too
Thanks so much! ☀️☀️☀️

Give it a try! ☀️☀️☀️. But if it isn't for you, that is perfectly OKAY! ☮️Everyone finds what works with their brain! 💙💙💙
Thank you for the video and showing cautionary tips. And errors. I like the larger curved piecing block with trimming.
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! ☀️
Love this quilt! The use of decorative stitches for quilting and finishing the binding is something I will have to try.
I’m so glad you liked the quilting! ☀️
I’ve made that same mistakes with batiks. Once when I was teaching! 😂
Very nice project! Well done tutorial!
Thanks so much for watching! 😊

Thanks so much Becki! 💛. I've done curves without a template too! That's a wild ride! 🤣
wow, love how you do your curves, so easy, darling quilt. thank you for all the great quilts,
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ☀️💛
I enjoy using the decorative stitches on my bindings. I usually hand-tye my quilts unless they are small.
The stitches make it so unique! 💙💙💙 Believe it or not, I have never hand-tied a quilt! 🤣
I’ve never thought about using all those wonderful decorative stitches - going to remember this (yes, I took a few pictures for my use only!).
Wow! Curved seams! You make ot look so easy! Even with that one seam you had to rip, it turned out amazing!
Wow, thank you! ☀️💛☀️
Another fun and cute quilt.
Thanks, Elaine! ☀️

I like your pocket binding idea! I will definitely use it on my next quilt. A thank you from Oregon.
I'm glad to hear that! 💛. I learned it from somebody online too, and it's such a great shortcut! ☀️☀️☀️.
What a nice quilt. It might be fun to use variable thread for the quilting. Thank you for posing.
Thanks! ☀️ I think that would be really lovely! 💙
Very nice quilt. Think I miight try to sew this drunkard's path pattern after 55 years of avoiding them., as you made it look easy.
Thanks so much. 💛 I hope you give it a try! ☀️

Lovin’ it!!!
Thanks so much! 💛💛💛
love this quilt. Can't wait to make it!
Oh I'm really glad to hear that! 💛💛💛
Looks great
Thanks so much! ☀️
Pretty.
Thanks! ☀️
Very pretty baby quilt! I have the template, maybe it’s time I tried a practice block.
Thanks! 💙. You can do it! 🤩. I plan to make a layer cake video soon just cutting random curves without a template! 💛
@@sunbeamfabricart I've seen people do that. Can't wait!
Lovely Thanks for sharng
THANK YOU! 💙💙💙
Beautiful colors. 💕💕💕
Thank you! 🤗
very well done...Love it
Thank you so much 😀
Most clips I’ve watched use a walking foot to quilt , is it because of the machine you have you don’t need it !😊
I often use a walking foot to quilt, and it does make it easier. 💙 For some reason on this one, I didn't feel like changing it! 🤣

Thanks so much! 💛💛💛. As far as the backing, I get most of my 108 fabric from Missouri Star online, but don't have the info on this particular one! ☀️
Another beautiful finish - love the batiks. At 8.47 was that Mr Darcy on a white horse? (reflection of movie, behind the top of your machine) 🤔🤩
Thank you so much Lesley! And what a good eye! Yes Indeed, Mr. Darcy! 💙💙💙
Hi, what are your outer curves longer than the inner curb that you’re going to put on there?
It's a math question that I am unable to answer! ☀️. Somehow it just works out. 💛
I love the colors & the design but I think it would have been better with lighter thread & not so many different stitches…..just my opinion
Thanks so much for the feedback! 💙💙💙
