Great to see BASIC INSTINCT in there. Totally underrated. Great script, great cast and Sharon Stone is the epitome of the femme fatale. Her portrayal of Catherine Tremmell is so mysterious and sexy. The film deserves a prequel, so we learn how she became a killer!
I especially appreciate that you have many more movies on your "watch list." My only suggestion would be to add some silent films in there, from back when this whole movie thing got started.
Thank you for the suggestion :) I watched The Passion of Joan Of Arc recently, a masterpiece of a film. If I were to make this video today, I would rank it very high. I do intend to watch more of them. Perhaps Metropolis next
@@visillac Both EXCELLENT choices! "Metropolis" is likely my favorite, also love any Chaplin, Keaton's "The General," Lillian Gish in "The Wind," "Way Down East," and "Broken Blossoms." I would not rule out DW Griffith's "Birth of Nation" (1915) and "Intolerance" (1916), despite certain biases being evident in the former, but which show the master's hand at forming how we see movies today. Twenty years ago, my husband & I hosted our kids' middle-school-age friends and showed them all of these, incl. BoN, Intolerance, Gold Rush, etc. They loved them all. Also, lots of foreign pictures, all kinds of 1930's-1960's features, even TV such as "The Twilight Zone." Best fun ever at the end of the work & school week!
Great list! Your #2 is the same as mine. 1. Everything Everywhere All At Once 2. Aftersun 3. Past Lives 4. Requiem For A Dream 5. Forrest Gump 6. I'm thinking of Ending Things 7. Fight Club 8. Her 9. Thank you :), seeing Columbus so high on your list has made me want to check it out. It's been on my list for a long time, I highly recommend both Dreams and Incendies! Dreams was my first Kurosawa film. Rewatch seems totally worth it after seeing his other films
Yes, you should check out Columbus. There is another guy, Souvlaedits, that has a video ‘Top 100 Favorite Films of All Time’ and he has Columbus at #1. His video and your video are the two best lists I’ve seen in terms of originality. It feels like so many others just copy and paste the same IMDB films.
love your choices, my fave films are mainly from 1930-1960's inc lots of foreign language films tbh i;ve not seen many new films from the past 10 years
Nice to see Like Father Like Son and Quiet Girl on here! We also used the same quote for Cinema Paradiso. 😆 Excellent work! I am always fascinated by how everyone's lists are different. I made one with 358 films (feel free to pick and choose new films from that list) and also get a look into my film taste. Oh and speaking of yours, we used the main theme of Spotless Mind for a short film exercise in film school 😂. So when that started playing, I was like "What the heck..." Hahahahhaa. Do you have Letterboxd?
Thank you! Just went into your channel to check out the video you mentioned, and hey! Your 2021 Top 250 was the video that inspired me to make a list of my own :D I'll definitely be watching your most recent list, we seem to have similar taste in films. My Letterboxd is patovisillac :)
Nice list ,i love about 80% film from this list ,i also loveThe Tale of The Princess Kaguya and Paris Texas ,and lalaland is also my five star film. But mabey more Third World film is better
You have 107 movies on your list not 100. You can't pick a trilogy and count that as one spot. A trilogy are still 3 separate movies. Some great pics in there, lots of movies I would disagree with as well, but it's your list.
The Dark Knight Matilda Blade Runner Blade Runner 2049 Birdman Finding Nemo It's A Wonderful Life Dead Poet's Society One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Fantastic Mr. Fox Million Dollar Baby Vertigo Edward Scissorhands Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse The Lion King Black Swan Lady Bird The Truman Show Silver Linings Playbook Dances With Wolves Arrival Joker Up Good Will Hunting The Banshees of Inisherin Parasite Philadelphia La La Land Little Women Portrait of A Lady On Fire The Elephant Man There Will Be Blood The Social Network Whiplash Mulholland Drive
So every movie on this list isn't good outside of those??? How??? I mean sure, there is a few that I personally don't like but I still respect the opinion.
good picks

Great to see BASIC INSTINCT in there. Totally underrated. Great script, great cast and Sharon Stone is the epitome of the femme fatale. Her portrayal of Catherine Tremmell is so mysterious and sexy. The film deserves a prequel, so we learn how she became a killer!
@@Deedee-ee1sg You want a prequel because you want to see how her bush grew.
Great list I posted mine in video form ;)
Some unusual choices and definitely did not expect the number one but each to their own.

No words man the best the best
With all due respect, Vanilla sky is on my list as the Worst movie I've ever seen!
Nice list! Just goes to show how subjective film is 😊 Mulholland drive at 50 is utterly criminal though 😂😂😂
I have to admit I do need to rewatch it 😅

Thank you :), seeing Columbus so high on your list has made me want to check it out.
It's been on my list for a long time, I highly recommend both Dreams and Incendies! Dreams was my first Kurosawa film. Rewatch seems totally worth it after seeing his other films
Yes, you should check out Columbus. There is another guy, Souvlaedits, that has a video ‘Top 100 Favorite Films of All Time’ and he has Columbus at #1. His video and your video are the two best lists I’ve seen in terms of originality. It feels like so many others just copy and paste the same IMDB films.
love your choices, my fave films are mainly from 1930-1960's inc lots of foreign language films tbh i;ve not seen many new films from the past 10 years
Thank you! I need to start watching more from those years
where is across the spider-verse?😢
7:53 with into the spiderverse. I merged some sagas and trilogies into a single slot
No words the best video the best
Your 2021 Top 250 was the video that inspired me to make a list of my own :D
I'll definitely be watching your most recent list, we seem to have similar taste in films. My Letterboxd is patovisillac :)
@@visillac Wow, that's amazing! I love that you ended up making it. I'll follow you.
What i really love about your list is that speed racer is on it
Nice list ,i love about 80% film from this list ,i also loveThe Tale of The Princess Kaguya and Paris Texas ,and lalaland is also my five star film. But mabey more Third World film is better
and why there‘s no The French Dispatch
@@user-KBMartin2 Is french dispatch good? I have seen Fantastic Mr. Fox and Grand Budapest, is French dispatch just as good as those films?
This is prob my favorite top 3 I've seen on any favorite list
You’ve put anime movies in the list but not a single movie of Satoshi Kon is a crime
Watched Perfect Blue a while ago, also Paprika but that one didn't click for me. I do need to watch Tokyo Godfathers though
Given some of the films on the list, you should check out Brazil or Pink Floyd: The Wall
havent seen people reconize the garden of words, one of my 20 favorite films for sure
You have 107 movies on your list not 100. You can't pick a trilogy and count that as one spot. A trilogy are still 3 separate movies. Some great pics in there, lots of movies I would disagree with as well, but it's your list.
You caught me 😆
Damn, you took that personally

"That's just like, your opinion, man"
So every movie on this list isn't good outside of those??? How??? I mean sure, there is a few that I personally don't like but I still respect the opinion.
If you really think those 3 are the only good movies on the list, then you probably don't like movies or you have horrible tastes.
@@daviez7maybe his favorite movie is Twilight or Fifty Shades Of Grey 😂😂😂😂
literally all these movies are good
Banal. American cinema not very interesting
