you have to let some oxygen in for the electrophile reaction. putting the mixture in a fire extinguisher canister killed the reaction. also you need to release gas at times. also you need to shake it. this was the craziest episode one may be able to save such batch if you re-heat it and add more lithium in a more controlled environment. some of it anyway. add more acid first. don't try this at home(use your friends home : )
I was thinking to myself wow this guy is doing all of this with no ventilation of any kind, no gas mask etc….then he starts smoking meth. Now it all makes sense lol.
So what we learned is… take Benzodiazepines for depression, stimulants for Hyperactivity, and opioids for loss of feeling? If taking benzodiazepines can make you anxious, just take them for the opposite thing
From watching previous episodes and the way he talks about motivation and the 'ability to do things, but not having the motivation to do them' sounds a lot like me before being diagnosed with both ADHD and Complex PTSD. Gladly I didn't take the path he did but many do.
A Pharmacopeia first fail home brew synthesis. In all honesty though this weird meth synthesis was destined to fail. The guy looked like he was trying to hybridize the AMMONICARB with Shake N Bake methods while spun out on meth. Probably neither a wise nor safe move. I was worried about both of you when he placed the fire extinguisher on the stove as he could neither see the progression or fail of the synthesis and that the extinguisher might blow up like a bomb.
Well I think reality is law enforcement does not recognize a bad criminal versus a good criminal or a smart criminal versus a dumb criminal or a profitable criminal versus a non-profitable criminal and if you're following my rant here that guy is going to go to prison for manufacturing meth whether or not he can make it
Back in my day we just used Drano crystals and the little liquid pack out of instant cold packs instead of that weird fire extinguisher thing. The rest looked about the same (lithium batteries, Sudafed pills, Coleman camp fuel). They left out smoking it off though with Muriatic Acid and aluminum foil balls.
Yeah the whole point of the fire extinguisher is to burp the pressure with the extinguisher itself and be able to see the gauge rather then how some people use feel and a bottle doing shake n bake. Not sure why he just opened it and wanted to huff it

That same assumption and level of gullibility is what allowed you to claim that you just witnessed something that didn’t even happen in this video. That would go to show how many people you have actually seen do it. This was a complete failure and yet you believed and clame you had just witnessed someone accomplish something, when no such thing was actually done. So even if you really believed you have seen it done before in the past…. Obviously it doesn’t take much of a show for you to be faked out, and then go on to claim you have seen something done, when it actually didn’t even happen, like this situation could easily repeat itself. You might of been convinced you saw something get done, but historically, what you claim to be a witness to is not reliable.👌
@@MrYeahyuhhh lol figures, guess that’s what I should expect from today’s gullible youth. It’s not like this guy is special or lacking more computing capacity than average. I’d wager he fits in his social circle just fine with many other like minded gullible kids. It is kinda sad though, starting to wonder if all the young bucks have an iq just above brain dead. 😔
It's pretty unbelievable that he failed, I met someone 5 years back who claimed they could make it in Gatorade bottles while in a moving vehicle no problem, said it was easy no brain stuff to do. Said "if you can follow instructions to make hamburger helper then you could follow the instructions to cook", and that 95% of people who fail or blow themselves up are smoking it while cooking like this guy. Can't believe the camera guys stayed after he started doing that, I'd have left at that point
I thought for sure the reason he was using the fire extinguisher was because he could remove that downstem inside and then just squeeze the trigger a little bit whenever he wanted to “release some of the gas and smell it to see if it is making ammonia at all” but instead it didn’t seem like he used the fire extinguisher in any way to justify it’s use over pretty much any other container 😂
the fire extinguisher holds certain pressure required for the chemistry to work. i mean it is built to withstand those pressures and is the cheapest solution that works for its purpose. i don't know exactly but probably makes reaching some boiling point of a molecule easier as you need less heat under high pressure.. or the high pressure interacts with some reaction in other ways. not a chemist, but that's why you can't use any other container :)
The synthesis processes that we use are much better than this disgusting synthesis because of lithium and ammonia. We use other chemicals. Methamphetamine has several methods. I prefer cooking meth. It is interesting and enjoyable with a lot of chemicals. I cook in my laboratory, but I lack a beautiful girl who accompanied me on the cooking trip.
But wait a minute. Is he using the fire extinguisher as the reaction vessel? If so, why isnt the lithium strips that float ontop the flammable liquid, sparking and igniting since the lithium will come in contact with the metal housing of the extinguisher?
My mother has a friend who did 13 years in prison, because her boyfriends friend was cooking meth at her house while she was at work, she had no idea they were doing this while she was working everyday. Crazy.
It's tragic how his Mom has to clean up the mess and the long term effects of a potion that makes him feel how he wants to feel (or even better than he is supposed to feel)...
Being careless like that is how you get caught. I did 4 years in prison for manufacturing methamphetamine and whatever that guy was doing was news to me? It looked like he was combining 3 separate methods of cooking (that have nothing to do with one another) while not even accomplishing what he set out to do in the first place. All because he was spun out and obviously needed sleep, or someone to show him how to actually do it? LoL
organic chemistry is a discipline meth heads aren't privy too. This is a documentary of a methamphetamine addict who is way above his head. I miss Hamilton's old material. This was trashy clickbait.
I used to cook meth also. He was doing the shake and bake method in a fire extinguisher to produce ammonia. He was making his own ammonia with crude household chemicals (I guess he doesn't have access to ammonia nitrates) he was supposed to build up enough pressure to produce enough concentrated ammonia to break the lithium down! He failed to do that. This is a common way to produce meth been around for like 20 years.
@@alberteinstein3078 oh I know how to shake n' bake too, it just didn't look like that guy knew what he was doing whatsoever. It looked like he was shaking, making gas and trying to make phosphorus? I've been clean since March 2020 when I overdosed and almost died. I would hear things and see things that weren't there. I couldn't eat properly or sleep and my heart wouldn't stop pounding. This happened for days. At one point I was laying in my bed and I could literally see an angel of death hovering over me. It had a translucent platinum smoky body with the face of a skeletal corpse. To this day I have nightmares where I take a bunch of meth. Even though it's just a dream, my heart physically races faster. I'm worried one night I'll dream up a real-life heart attack.
This is a simple cooking process, but most undercover chefs don't use it because it's dangerous because of the nasty lithium and ammonia. I cooked a lot in the laboratory from simple chemicals and in many ways and relatively safe to synthesize amphetamine and then methamphetamine I do not need to collect pseudoephedrine I used another way

At least there's a functional pressure valve on it. Made me cringe though.
Why was his face red anyway?
The camera work and editing in this film were excellent.
I was missing Hamilton, he has some really good, brilliant documentaries. It is probably hard to insure guy like him, so are firefighters; someone has to do the job. Thanks for showing it.
you guys forgot to link the ingredients in the description box below
Big fan of the impromptu reflection on his marriage breaking apart due to, ya know, meth.
“The ole wife didn’t like me cooking meth in the kitchen so she left” guy in a stolen fireman’s suit.
At least he's honest mane
you have to let some oxygen in for the electrophile reaction. putting the mixture in a fire extinguisher canister killed the reaction. also you need to release gas at times. also you need to shake it. this was the craziest episode
one may be able to save such batch if you re-heat it and add more lithium in a more controlled environment. some of it anyway. add more acid first. don't try this at home(use your friends home : )
use your friend's home lol
Using friends home is the best advice in this I’ve seen
The guys wearing a firemans outfit with a space helmet and Hamilton asks him if this affected his marriage!?
FUCKIN A IT DID!!
😂
That line hit me hard, I’ve been on opioids for years and have been in and out of crippling pain. What an ironic turn of events. It’s so true.
did the crippling pain cause you to do opioids in the 1st place?
@@EffectiveMuscle yes, child onset arthritis and then a major spinal injury. I’ve been in pain for many many years.
Sad but every med seems to have that bounce back effect... anything you give extra +’s to will give you extra -‘s to balance back out
Unfortunately theres no free lunch
Have you ever tried weed? It helps. Indicas are the best for pain reliefs
I was thinking to myself wow this guy is doing all of this with no ventilation of any kind, no gas mask etc….then he starts smoking meth. Now it all makes sense lol.
Smoking meth while making meth seems like a pretty grand idea. Like a chef tasting his food but with dire consequences
Did you see the mexican LIquid meth cook in Cali doing it maskless in a backyard shed? lol
I am amazed that you ever succeeded at doing this. That is a big fvcking mess and a lot of work to make nothing.
Hamilton Morris is an American hero
Wait are his parents from the uk ? I did not know that like him even more know
@@onlyhereforddebob8978 my mistake, I think he spent some time in the uk after listening to one of his podcasts
@@onlyhereforddebob8978 LOL.. He isnt British. His dad is Errol Morris the famous documentary film director..
See people that know how to do this could be legit chemist
Lmao. Congrats. I bet you're on a few law enforcement lists now.
@Bri Guy osha approved
Don't care bring it.
I doubt the cheap Walmart fire extinguisher he used was stainless steel. The metal itself could have reacted or inhibited the reaction.
"the main thing is I don't want y'all to get hurt"
"so this is ammonia"
AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
“I’m gonna release a little cloud just to see if we’ve still got ammonia”
*almost vomits in his crackhead lab suit*
“Allow me to inhale this poisonous gas to make sure my process is going well”
That was extremely sad, I hope the best for that guy. Hope he finds happiness
Well I think reality is law enforcement does not recognize a bad criminal versus a good criminal or a smart criminal versus a dumb criminal or a profitable criminal versus a non-profitable criminal and if you're following my rant here that guy is going to go to prison for manufacturing meth whether or not he can make it
Probably fried his brains out to where it's virtually impossible to find any form of pleasure with life
@@astral2151 false
He’ll probably blow himself up one day making that toxic 🤯
Like dude. If youre going to do something do it right. This was hilarious
The binoculars in the kitchen had me dying😂
Back in my day we just used Drano crystals and the little liquid pack out of instant cold packs instead of that weird fire extinguisher thing. The rest looked about the same (lithium batteries, Sudafed pills, Coleman camp fuel). They left out smoking it off though with Muriatic Acid and aluminum foil balls.
Hamilton stay safe dude. This looked like something was on the verge of exploding the entire time.
Yeah the whole point of the fire extinguisher is to burp the pressure with the extinguisher itself and be able to see the gauge rather then how some people use feel and a bottle doing shake n bake. Not sure why he just opened it and wanted to huff it
Right? I was on edge whole time
@@PlutoTheGod Yeah I was thinking what's the whole point in using a fire extinguisher if you're just going to re-open the whole thing instead of letting it out normally with the hose.
@@ChrisM-bn5vr not to mention how damn dangerous it is to open that and release all those vapors. There’s no other point to using the extinguisher if not as a pressure chamber other than to look more like a firefighter lmao
Educational, informative and real life!!! Content doesn't get any more well rounded than that! Quality journalism. Well done Sir
This house is like hell. I can't imagine the smell and the wafting chemicals in the air. Hamilton should of worn a hazard suit.
and the fireman suit under it
but the drip tho
Yeah, I can maybe sort of kind of understand making it in a busted up, unused kitchen, but he has REAL food in there, like he might make spaghetti later on that same range!!!!
I've seen some drippy hazard suits. Like the ones they use to get close to volcanoes.
@@mysteryY2K That drip comment has double meaning !!🤣
the cinematography is insane!
This is truly the heart of youtube in a video.
the second hand anxiety just from watching this is real 😂
The music...
I've been in a car with a pickle jar 1/4 full of cooking meth, and then God shot the smallest raindrop right in that jar. Once you've seen the fire ball, the anxiety is 1000% worse. The things people do for money.
Oh my gosh yes, so much anxiety just watching
I love to cook, have fun with a lot of time
At least 1/2 a dozen times, just in that video alone, Hamilton was in life threatening jeopardy. Jeheezus Christmas you're brave my friend
You saw the fear in his eyes right⁉️I liked his expression as he slunk down the attic stairs😳
"Did meth have something to do with the problems in your marriage?" 🤣

Not sure if there's some Danny Boyle influence in the production, but I'd watch 2 hours of this. Well done.
awesome to see Hamilton still doin this. Also, I loved the message at the end. You get into these things to solve a problem, and they just create more/worse ones
I think this might be the funniest video on UA-cam with out you’s trying it too be 😂😂

He’s the most reckless meth cook I’ve seen but actually surprised that he accomplished cooking Meth 😂
he didnt he failed in making it, Hamilton explains this.
@@jaxturner7288 and 80 people agreed LOL
I'm amazed that consuming this doesn't kill you instantly. Very educational video.
Hamilton really waited this long to flex his chemistry knowledge huh
Nah, he's been doing it for many years
every episode
Waited? Dude, that is all he DOES
You're new here, ey?
He literally walked through the synthesis of MDMA in season two
"...oh, wow! That's a really nice meth ring."
They need to make a tv series about this cook, but maybe have him do it inside of an RV and cooks maybe somewhere in the desert.
I have a good character name, he called Blueman, or Greenman cuz I like green colour
Watching those lithium strips catch on fire if you throw them on water is pretty wild ....gives you an idea of how reactive they are for sure
Bring back Hamilton episodes hes the one that made me love vice
My only question is why was he wearing a firefighter suit and why is his face painted RED🤣
Looks like ink from robbing bank bills lmaoo
Irritated skin everywhere he isnt covered or calloused. And the suit is probably the safest thing he owns for the job
I actually don't think that's paint, it looks more like light reflection that's coming off inside the helmet
Lol as soon as he hit the pipe I knew things would go south🤣
The past handful of comments here are what makes this a great video as well. "Priceless" guys, Thank You.
But wait a minute. Is he using the fire extinguisher as the reaction vessel? If so, why isnt the lithium strips that float ontop the flammable liquid, sparking and igniting since the lithium will come in contact with the metal housing of the extinguisher?
This is the vice we want to see
The pill blender camera shot was so good
My mother has a friend who did 13 years in prison, because her boyfriends friend was cooking meth at her house while she was at work, she had no idea they were doing this while she was working everyday. Crazy.
That stuff smells terrible so idk how your mom didn’t know

This hilarious the up and down tp attic with the music the binoculars tbe fore extinguisher i cant 😂
LoL
Hi
organic chemistry is a discipline meth heads aren't privy too.
All which are 3 different methods that done together do absolutely nothing..lol. it was just very comical whatever he was doing.
@@justinhayes2194 Agreed he was all over the place plus they mix up the process during filming to stop people from copying so that could have contributed to the confusion. It was hard to watch. I cooked hypo-phosphorus not to many people know this method not "red phosphorus" but I have cooked several different ways. I love the chemistry but hate the drug. I have been clean for 10 years now.

I've been clean since March 2020 when I overdosed and almost died. I would hear things and see things that weren't there. I couldn't eat properly or sleep and my heart wouldn't stop pounding.
