Beautiful! A soft hackle Leftys Deciever.
Great idea! Also reminiscent of a Davie McPhail video.
This pattern is so perfectly thought out and well executed.
    Bravo for innovation!

Fantastic Vise, I have the master vise but not the special edition. When you go you really leap. From a Danica vise to a Petitjean Special edition. Congratulations. I really like the fly as well. Thanks for sharing and all the best to you. Sean

+Sean Mooney Wow you are really observant! I had thought a long time about changing vise and was going for the normal one but the special edition really convinced me. Moreover, I had the great opportunity to choose both my number and the jaws. Thank you! All the best. Simon

Nice looking fly. I'm sure that it will have a lot of movement in the water. You could omit a few steps and simply use the split thread technique with the 6/0 thread throughout. This would save a little effort combing the dubbing out; a tiny pinch of copper ice dub could be added to the dubbing mix to replace the rib, and would likely add even a little more flash.
I am primarily a panfish angler from the United States, but there is one thing that most tyers never mention. It is usually better to have flies with the same general silhouette as a fish's potential forage; in a similar color AND WITH GOOD MOVEMENT, than it is to have an ultra-realistic looking fly that fishes like a stick. Tie your flies as attractors or imitate general classes of forage and just see what you can catch. Delight in every fish and don't let people tell you that a certain fly is a "trout fly" or a "pike fly" as if it is only useful for that one species. For every potential prey item, there are many that predate upon it, and all fish are - at times - curious. Every species has some unique traits but, by and large, a fish is a fish - wherever they swim.

Thank you very much for the comment! You could certainly make the tying even quicker on this one using your technique. Would overall give quite the same result I think, will have to try it out. Copper Ice dub is one color that I don't have yet. Thank you for reminding me. That would for sure make this fly even prettier.
That's a really good insight, I also believe in the overall silhouette of the fly and to have some movement in them. We have to remember that what we are trying to imitate is life. Thats why I try to tie in some moving materials in every fly I tie and am a really big fan of the general patterns that can imitate a whole range of either insects or baitfish.
